  John and his crew were extremely professional and did a fantastic job. The hardscape work (by a fantastic sub) looks great- wonderful craftsmanship. The back yard looks like a different place; a place where we want to be. Everyone was responsive and the crew was friendly and responsive. I would not hesitate to hire again. It was not an inexpensive project but there was a lot involved. John was great as we worked through the options on cost to dial it in to what we wanted. We look forward to seeing the yard grow over the years into something beyond our expectations. I'm already planning to have them back to work on some other areas.

  This was one of those "deals". In 30 days after I paid for the deal, the work never got done and I had to cancel out of it to get my money back due to terms of their guarantee. Hence the C rating overall, because I have no idea what quality work they do. Yet Angie's system keeps begging me for a review. So I'm just putting this out there to stop the emails from Angie's system, and because what I learned about the Angie's List "deals" might help someone else. It was a learning experience. I learned that just because you pay money for the "deal" doesn't mean the work will get done. In my case, the vendor kept telling me I was on his list. But he never got around to doing the job. Granted, weather was a partial factor. It was a bizarre time of year to put such a deal out there, for outside work (November/December), and considering the deal has a 30-day window. I learned from Angie's help line that the thing with the "deals" is that you pay Angie's List, and they (Angie's List) hold your money until the work is performed. The vendor doesn't get money until the job is done. There's a 30-day full price money-back guarantee that you can request at any time, no questions asked, if the work hasn't been done. And Angie's help line was very easy to reach / work with. When 25 days rolled around after I put up the money, the vendor was pretty much hinting he wasn't going to get to my job in the 30-day window. So I opted to engage the 30-day money back guarantee, and got all my money back, and fairly quickly. I also learned from Angie's help line that if you don't do the full refund within 20-something days if the work hasn't been done (remember to factor in weekends/holidays into the 30 days), you might end up getting screwed. If you don't do the refund, the vendor can charge you whatever he wants after that, and all you can do is apply what you paid to the new cost. I also learned from Angie's helpline that BEFORE putting up the money for the "deal", you should call the vendor and see if they're even interested in your job. I got the feeling this vendor wasn't interested in my job at the time, and put me at the bottom of his list. The only reason I didn't give an F for responsiveness was that he at least kept in touch with me, periodically, to tell me I was on his list. As for whether I'd hire him (for real), maybe, if the price was right.

  The Davey Tree Expert Company- Cincinnati & N Cincinnati

  The crew showed up as promised and did the work we agreed on. They did a great job on the tree and navigating the power lines. Also did a great job cleaning up the small debris left behind. My neighbor's even complimented me on the great job they had done on the tree and clean up.

  Finer Lawn & Landscaping LLC.

  The crew was at my house for two days. They cleanup up after themselves and did a very nice job building the stone wall. The mortar job was also well done and they were super accommodating when I asked for any changes to the wall shape. I don't know what went on with this company years ago to rate such terrible reviews - I found them to be professional and competent. The second day it rained and the job was stopped for several hours. As a result they worked until dark and some of the clean up was left undone. This is why I did not give them an A rating.

  Kremer Tree Service

  I called Kremer Tree service, within a couple of hours my phone call was returned. Wayne Kremer advised me he would be at my home the following day, late afternoon to take a look. He arrived within five minutes of the time he quoted. I had him remove the limb right there and then. Once he removed the limb and other debris he raked up leaves and twigs that were on the scattered about the limb. He was very personable and professional.

  Eagle Creek Landscape & Design, Inc.

  Avoid this company for the following reasons:
  1) If you can get them to return your calls it will be a miracle. They'll give you excuses about how busy they are and how they were just about to call you.
  2) I was told they would follow up in a year after completing the project. But that didn't happen. Work performed does not hold up over time and they will give you the run around if you ask about it later. I'm now in a position to have another landscaping professional remedy Eagle Creeks' work.
  3) Their crew will cause damage to your property: e.g., the crew hit my house with their equipment and dislodged bricks. The crew's lack of initiative was stunning. I had to tell them to repair it. And even then their initial repair was with caulking. I had to point out that bricks are installed with mortar.
  4) Although they're nice, this company seems to take on more than it can handle and promises more than it will deliver especially for the high prices it charges. In general, if you need simple things like weeds pulled, mulch put down, grass seed scattered, this is your company. But for all other more serious types of landscaping, you're better off seeking real professionals.
