Excellent results. I was sent to Dr. Hodes because of a concern a doctor had with an x-ray of my pelvis..The initial thorough exam uncovered pressure on the spinal cord (the pelvis was fine!). I was asymptomatic and had surgery within a week. The doctor and staff are caring and professional. It is a high-tech, modern office.

Dr. Hodes told me I need to have a crainiotomy and was very patient while I got 2 other opinions (I was very scared and in denial!). He performed the surgery, but he was also just a great person to deal with, as was his staff! You don't have to have this when you're dealing with Neuro-surgery - but you get it here.

    Gregory Nazar MD,FACS
Dr. Nazar was recommended by my orthopedic doctor after I had met with one of the worst Neurosurgeons ever. He checked my MRI and Ctscan films and pointed out that what I was told by the first doctor was incorrect. Seems like the other doctor was looking to line the pockets of his 3 piece suit with an un-needed surgery that could have likely crippled me! We talked for 45 minutes and I felt like he really cared about my concerns. He is very intelligent, patient, honest and kind. My second opinion is my last. I am sticking with Dr. Nazar and feeling positive with my new diagnosis.

    Raque, Dr. George H
Dr. Raque is really easy to communicate with and easy to talk to. He was able to answer all of my questions. He did a great follow-up with me to make sure everything was going great following the procedure. The procedure was very successful and everything is healing ok.

The only bad thing was that his appointments always run late. My appt was for 11:30 and I was not called back to be seen until 3:30. I left the office at 4:30. So I was there a total of 5+ hours. He is one of the best back doctors in the area, but you must be patient and willing to wait a long time to be seen.

    Harpring, Dr. John E.
He was very thourough with pre-op visit. Answered all my questions plus some that I didn't even think of. He was good with making eye contact. Described in terms I could understand the procedure and inspired confidence.

He was wonderful, and so was his staff.  He understood my anxiety and my concerns.  He did a through evaluation, had several other tests done, and referred my to other wonderful experts to check for cancer in other parts of my body.  Once it was clear I didn't have cancer, he continued to monitor me periodically until he was sure the mass wasn't changing and wasn't causing an problem.

I have been to Dr. Nazar several times and he performed spinal surgery on me last fall. The surgery has not worked and I am in more pain now. I'm not doubting his surgical prowess because I hear he is quite good. I accept the fact that it has failed with me and I will need more surgery most likely. But I have to complain about the poor communication. He has never spent much time with me in the examining room.On average I waited 80 minutes to see him (sometimes 2 hours), but he'd only spend a minute or two with me in the examining room, sometimes seeming to ignore my very questions. He never explained the surgery process for me. He just told me to be at the hospital on the right day and time. Seriously -- not even a generic pamphlet showing what they were going to do to me. Now he wants to go back into my spine to cut again and I am devastated. Because what is one hour of work for him (cutting into me) is four weeks of agonizing recovery and lost work for me. I joined this site hoping to find reviews to lead me to a good surgeon for a second opinion. Not much on here, so I hope this helps someone in the future.

I wasn't extremely pleased by them. It was not very positive. It was very negative. His office staff was very nice. The PA was extremely nice. It was like day and night. He may have been correct, I don't know, but it was just sort of a turn off. He spent about six minutes or less with us and that was not very good. We had a question, but he had more answers like he knew everything.
