    This is our third time using Gerrard Home Inspection, in particular, Derrick Rison. I used to think home inspections were a joke, and in most cases a waste of money. After coming across Gerrard Home Inspectors, I wouldn't purchase a home without one. Money well spent!

    Darrell called me promptly after I submitted a request for service and after I explained the issue of finding mice droppings in the attic, he gave me advice on how to know if the problem was recent or not and what steps to take. He didn't charge me anything and was very helpful. If I have any future problems, I'll reach back out to him for help on this or any other extermination issue.

    On the first visit they treated the interior and exterior. On the second visit they treated the exterior only. They treat every 3 months. Treatments have been successful in keeping insects out of the house and around the exterior.

    I called Chris in early June 2017. We were having an ant problem in the kitchen due to the mild winter and wet spring. We had the same thing happen probably five years ago. I had tried the Raid Ant Gel which normally works but wasn't cutting it this year. He came the next day, he would have come that day but our schedules didn't work. He sprayed everywhere inside and outside even the second floor. All the ants were gone within two hours and I haven't seen one since. He was very nice and was reasonable. I will definitely use him again the next time I have a problem. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a routine service plan in that we really only need this done every 5 years or so.

    Select Pest Control
    I hired Select Pest Control in December 2016 to take care of a problem I was having with squirrels in the attic crawl space over my garage. The servicer came out on Friday, 12/2, and did not go in to the attic crawl space, instead set a trap on the roof. The bait fell out late on Saturday 12/3. I called first thing Monday morning, 12/5, and no one ever came out to rest the trap. I was out of town between the night of 12/5 and the night of 12/7, and during that time, the trap fell off the roof. I called first thing on Friday, 12/9, to confirm the servicer was coming out that day, as per our agreement, and to request the trap be put in the crawl space/attic, where I continued to hear squirrels. I was told the servicer would be out that day; he was not. I emailed the company that night around 5pm, and did not hear anything until Monday, 12/12. The servicer called and left a voicemail saying he had planned on coming out that day, but didn't have the right ladder and would be out the next day, Tuesday, 12/13. He didn't show up, and I emailed the company again on 12/14. A servicer finally did come out on 12/15. Regular weekly visits happened through 12/30. When the servicer arrived on the 30th, he saw a squirrel was in the attic. Within ten minute's of his leaving, the squirrel was caught. I called him, and he said he'd try to come out that afternoon or send someone the next day, 12/31. No one showed up until 01/04/17, days after the animal expired, and after I had sent an email to the boss. Service continued, on a weekly basis, through 02/07 when two animals were trapped in one cage. I was told by the servicer that they didn't have a cage to replace mine with, and would be out the next day. I never heard back from the company until yesterday, 05/03/17 asking when they could pick up the cage that they had left. I had explained to them that a cage was never brought back after the visit in February, but I had since had the roof of my house replaced, thus fixing the problem with wildlife in the attic crawl space. Today, 05/04, I received an invoice for $45 for the animal removal on 02/07, which I paid without complaint, happy to close this chapter of my life. Select Pest Control did provide a service, which is why I have given a two star review, as opposed to a one star review. While they did provide this service, it was not without much baby sitting, emails and phone calls on my part. I would not recommend.

    Terminix - Fairfield -Termite & Pest Control
    I had Terminix out because I had a few bites. I had them out and Terminix did an inspection. No infestation was found, except for skin/shell of what they thought was bedbugs. Terminix wanted me to sign a contract for $1200 for bedbugs - and they needed $600 up front. I called another company to have their bedbug sniffing dog search our place. Not a sign of bedbugs at all. I signed the contract for Terminix to not have the service done, but wanted to give it to them in person. We went up and down Donaldson looking for their office and couldn't find it. They wouldn't offer their exact location of their place. I did get my money back due to not taking them up on their service. Be wary of the extras in the contracts. I still use them for termites and will continue to do so.

    Snowball Pest Control Svc

    There is only a certain kind of company that can set a certain kind of trap. I would say it went overall about a B because when I called I guess he said the trap has only been out here for three weeks so it was going to cost me more money to come out and check the traps. I was not real happy about that but I think they were the only ones who could deal with the mouse problem because of the certain kind of trap. I did not have a choice, if that makes sense. My husband travels and I had to get someone out because they were tearing up the electric in my attic. Then they turned around and killed my van. The tech who came out was pretty nice. He had to go in through my closet and got insulation everywhere, which was kind of frustrating. Overall, he just came out, set the traps and said it costs $75 for them to come out. He told me what to look for as far as smell. The traps have been there since December. Initially they came out on time.

    They were very prompt, efficient and very professional! I was so thankful for their quick response! We never saw another bedbug and were very grateful to know where treatment needed to occur! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs help with bedbugs!!

    Chris was very responsive when I called.  He understood that I was upset, and came out the same day.  He performed the treatment spray, and was very through.  Since the treatment, there haven't been any fleas.  He explained fleas to me, and that they lay eggs.  He explained the importance of a follow up visit in 2 weeks to take care of any fleas that may have hatched during the incubation period.
    I thought the price was a great value, since he was so through, and the time he took to help me understand fleas, and what it takes to get rid of them.
