    Tri State Centers For Sight
Even though the address says Ft. Mitchell my visit was at the Florence location.  Dr. G**** was the one who performed the exam.  He and the staff were very thorough in the exam.  Appointment started on time and any questions I had were answered.  End result was I just need to get stronger reading glasses, no  prescription glasses required.  They told exactly which strength is right for my eyes.

I have been a patient there for around twenty years. They are fabulous. I had an eye infection when I was out of town, I called Dr. Noll and she called in my prescription to a local drug store. She is a great eye doctor and I swear by her.

Dr. Thon is personable and professional. He gave me information that our previous eye dr never told me about my daughters eyes. He has great rapport with kids. The office staff is hit and miss. One friendly, one apathetic and going through the motions. Overall good experience and we will go back.

Dr. Noll is my optometrist, and she’s great. They’ve always taken care of me and do a great job! Sometimes it’s hard to get a timely appointment with them, but they’ve been good to work with overall.

My husband and I always get appointments together and have not had any problems with scheduling. The staff waited on us as quickly as possible, the waiting room was full. We were called back for our examinations very close to our appointment times. When we left we had to wait just a little while to get our invoices.

I was pleased with the eye exam and glasses I received over there. They are fairly new and I think they are just over a year old.  It is a lady over there. They did give the glasses pretty fast and they were less expensive compared to the last ones we used and we were not happy with them. It was really cheap and I paid for it right then. There was no billing. It cost me $55 and I don't know if it was some special price. My co-pay was always $25 so it was not much more. It was for the doctor's appointment and it was all pretty much mechanical. I feel I see as well or better than I did with my usual doctor and the actual physician surgeon I seen.

    Metzger Eye Care
I moved to this area in 2008 and a friend recommended Dr. Julie Metzger to me. Her office is conviently located and hours of operation are very good. The eye exam was fairly routine, but not up to many clinical standards used today (the peripheral vision test consisted of my looking at the technician's nose while she moved her fingers to various locations around her head to see if I could see them). I have been wearing contact lenses for 20 years so I knew what to expect. For the most part, the exam was adequate, but not outstanding. Her staff was somewhat moody, and ranged from grudgingly pleasant to downright non-social. The office waiting area is dark and crowded, and the exam areas are also dark and small. The building seems to be in need of repair. When I left after my exam, I was wearing a new pair of lenses that she wanted me to try, but my eyes could not tolerate them as well as my previous lenses. I called the next day and had to go in to pick up another pair to try. When they told me to come back, they failed to mention that they close/lock up for lunch, which is exactly when I was going. I arrived only to find a locked door. The hours of operation sign in the door do not state that they close for lunch. I went back later in the day (having to take time off from work to get there before they closed) and picked up the lenses. This pattern continued through 5 different kinds of lesnses, each time having to go in and get them, then call in to say they weren't working for me and then waiting several days to get the called back to try a new pair. The lenses I had been in for the previous 2 years were the kind that you wear continuously, night and day, for 30 days. I told Dr. Julie that I was fine going to daily wear if we could not find extended wear that worked for me. What she did next was truly wrong for an eye professional to do. She gave me a pair of daily wear lenses and told me to try to wear them overnight. When she gave them to me I did not know they were daily wear, and by telling me to sleep in them she ignored the potential hazards associated with sleeping in lenses not designed for sleeping. When the first pair did not work for me she gave me a second and gave me the same instructions. At this point I was thoroughly frustrated with the service I was getting (well, not getting) from the eye doctor and her staff, and since it had been more than 2 months since my initial visit, with no lens success, I called my previous (out of state) eye doctor to discuss my situation. I told him what lenses we had tried, and it was then that I discovered that Dr. Julie was having me try to sleep in daily wear lenses. I did not like that she was taking risks with my vision. Dr. Julie and her staff had lost track of which lenses I had tried or had yet to try, so the risk-taking and the lack of organization in her office were two red flags I could not ignore. I did finally find a pair of lenses that worked for me, but I decided to not pursue them through Metzger Eye Care. On top of the office and lens fiasco, I recived an invoice from her office that was stamped "past due." This was odd, as I had never received a bill prior to that. Then, a month later, someone from the office called and left me a message that my new contact lenses were in and to come pick them up. They obviously lost track of either the lenses or me. I never went in to get them, but I did pay my "past due" bill.

    Midwest Eye Center
He has been in this field for a very long time and has a lot of experience. When I brought my son here, he was ten years old and was almost blind due to cataract problem. I took him to another doctor, but, he refused to do surgery due to some financial problem. Dr. Schneider got to know about my son somehow, he called me the same night and asked me to bring my son in the next day. I took my son to him and he did the surgery for free, he did not take a single penny. It has been ten years and he still treats my son like a patient. My husband has been going to him for twenty four years.
