    Schumacher Roofing LLC
I found Jim on the internet and within 10 minutes of submitting my information I get a personal phone call from Jim himself. He explained the entire process (with the insurance claim) and I did next to nothing. He took care of all of the paperwork and insurance claim. His roofing crew was very nice and they worked fast with great quality. The roofing crew showed up at 7:30am like planned and got right to work. The new roof was installed and the yard was SPOTLESS by 5pm. Jim came out that day to verify the work was done and we were pleased with the work that was completed. He had his drywall guy come out that weekend and he was awesome as well, you couldn't tell he was even there. If I move and need a new roof or drywall work Jim will be the first I call. A+++

I contacted Charles and he came out the next to to look at the project and give me an estimate. He explained his estimate and answered all of my questions. He was able to start the job the following week. Charles does all of the finish work with the help of two of his employees. He stayed in contact with me each day. He and his crew worked all day Saturday to finish the job. He is truly an artist of drywall.

    Steady Hand Painting
Chris and the entire crew at Steady Hand Painting were very courteous and did an amazing job for us! We had the entire interior of our home painted: ceilings, walls, baseboards, doors and trim. What a difference it made! Our home looks brand new. The job was finished on schedule and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Steady Hand Painting.

    Jeff Milbauer Painting
Jeff was outstanding to work with and exceeded our expectations. We needed interior painting, deck staining, and minor drywall repair. Jeff returned my initial call within an hour and scheduled an estimate. His estimate was reasonably priced. So, we moved forward. He was able to start right away. This was critical, as we were on a tight schedule to list and sell our home. Jeff spent five days in our home painting and repairing defects. He showed up promptly each morning at 8:00 AM, and stayed until at least 5:00 PM. He carefully protected our furniture and always cleaned up behind himself. Jeff was personable and always willing to answer questions. He graciously accepted more and more painting tasks as the job went on. After seeing the quality of his work, we simply wanted him to do more. Jeff completed all of the work on time, at an affordable price, and did a superb job. I recommend calling Jeff before you even consider another painter for your home's interior.

Everything was professionally installed. The installers were on time, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. They had information on each item installed, and were very informative on my painting project. I am thinking about having them back to paint my rooms.

The work that was performed was very good, and even went above and beyond on several occasions.  One area needed some additional drywall work and looked terrible.  Called Rod back to look at it at it himself.  He promptly came out agreed how bad it was and said he would come back out and make the necessarry  repairs himself.  He never returned to make those repairs even after several attempts to contact him, with no response.
One major issue I had was that for cleanup and for some of the work performed, his workers used my equipment.  I did not mind that they used my stuff if there equipment was not available as long as what they used eqipment was still in good working condition, but the several items were left in a messy and dirty condition and actually had to replace one of the items they used.
I have tried to contact them later for additional work but again with no response.  Work is good when they do show up.  I would definitely have them come back and do some work for me again, if i could get them to call back.

    Demi Remodeling

It went very well.  Larry Treadway and his son, Chris, were on site and were flexible when we wanted to make changes.  It's not easy to know exactly where you want everything when you remove walls.  Of 3 contractors we called upon, they were the only ones that called us back and gave us an estimate that itemized the project  by service.  We knew the cost of demo work, plumbing, drywall, electric, etc.  up front.  They also made adjustments as we made changes so we always knew what we were paying for and how the changes affected the cost.  These guys are honest and hardworking.  We love how the kitchen and living room turned out.  We highly recommend them.

One thing to keep in mind, is you have to be involved and be available in a project of this scope.  And, this might be more because we utilized Home Depot for the cabinets, which I'm going to say, is a bare bones service.  Home Depot does not help you think through how cabinet doors will open and how the frig may need more space because it's up against a wall, etc.  We had to figure all that out and make adjustments with Larry and Chris.    I would use a cabinet company like Kelly Brothers if I were to do this again.

Larry and Chris are great at doing what you ask, but you should not expect them to think of everything that needs to be adjusted.  You must be involved if you want great results.  They will help you get there.

They are also very patient and flexible.  Cabinets threw us off schedule.  Some delivered damaged, and warped doors so we had to reorder and wait another 2 weeks to get them.  On the flipside, we were also flexible because they worked in other small, day jobs while working on ours.

We did not use Larry and Chris to install the crown molding.  They can definitely do the work but we decided to use a Cabinet maker to install the crown molding because of the finesse in finishing work.  Steve Cline is finishing that part and I'll post his review when he finishes the work.

We also used Home Depot to order the quartz countertops so Home Depot installed those.

Again, very happy with Larry and Chris and will definitely be using them again to help us with 30-year old bathroom upgrades, moving a washer and dryer from basement to first floor (we have a ranch) and refinishing the basement.

    Clarke Contractors Inc

This was the single worst experience I have encountered in any of the five states I have owned properties. Run away, don't walk, as fast as you can from Clarke Contractors and the most inept project manager (Peter Chadwick) that I have ever had the misfortune to meet.

Clarke was hired to repair water damage and replace nine large windows. Every, and I mean every, item that they purported to repair has had to been reworked by another contractor. Their drywall work cracked, peeled and separated in every room they worked in. They painted my wall (sand finish) with metallic paint. They damaged the crown molding. They destroyed two mature bushes in the front of the house while replacing the windows. In those areas where the paint color was correct, they pained the light fixtures, the hinges, the solid brass door handles and the floor. They attempted to charge for work not completed and literarily every measurement they took was extended and inflated in price, they are the most corrupt and fraudulent firm I have ever encountered.

In addition, they chose not to stand behind any of their work and Peter (the inept project manager) refused to honor their contractual 1-year warranty.

If you choose to use the company you do so at your own peril; Caveat emptor..

    Restoration Resources LLC
In the beginning, everything was good. They showed up and answered questions while doing the price quote. They even came back a second time to meet with my insurance company. When the work started, that is when everything went wrong. They sent 2 inexperienced gentleman to my house the first couple of days. These men had no direction as to what the scope of the job was and they flat out told me that they didn't know what they were doing. Their work proved it. They ripped the molding off the walls, causing big guages. While putting down the hard wood floors, they got glue everywhere. Too this day, I still have hand prints on my carpet where they touched their glue covered hand to my carpet. There were chunks out of my hard wood floors and they told me that was just how it had to be. After calling the office for several days, I was finally able to get someone to come to my house to view the work that the 2 gentlemen had produced. I was told everything would be corrected and a manager would be around daily to view the progress. So round 2 begins, the 2 gentlemen sent this time seemed to know what the where doing. A week later, I had new hardwood floors. Paint still wasn't done, but to be fair they were waiting on the floors to be finished. Unfortunately, these floors didn't stick. I came downstairs at the end of week 2 to see that they shifted overnight. Again, had to call the office to get a manager to come view the damage because unlike the promise from the week before, no manager ever showed up to my house to check on progress. Needless to say, after a lot of arguing with management and some accusations being made (they blamed me for the floor issues, even though they were suppose to be the experts, which I reminded them of) I finally got one if the owners to show up. The decision, redo the floors but this time with engineered hardwood. So round 3 begins about 10 days later. Hardwood floors go down, this time with much better results. It is the other areas that now start to fall apart. The new walls in the bathroom have horrible seams. When I asked about it, I was told it was because the house was old and settling. I'm sorry, but how to walls that are less than a month old get classified as old and settled? Walls were painted the wrong colors. Walls that weren't suppose to be painted were touched up with the wrong finish, so now I have spotted walls. And the icing on the cake was probably the plumber. I thought he was intoxicated, he says he wasn't. He burned my walls when trying to weld on the new valve for the refrigerator line that was broken by the original 2 gentlemen. He also forgot to turn off the main water so when he cut the original valve off water came pouring out and went all over my brand new wood floors, the third set. A dehumidifier had to be brought in and parts of the floor had to be replaced. Now that we were at the end of week 4 of a 4-5 day project, I had enough. I called the office and told them that I was done and to just send me the bill. I know the work wasn't done but I decided to finish the work on my own. I mean how much worse could it be. After several weeks, the office did call me to apologize and gave me some of my money back. They also stated that they had talked about my job and had made some changes based on it. I hope this is true!

    Griffin Contracting and Restoration
Good Quality Work - I have never been through something like this before. I was worried this was going to be a huge headache, Griffin Contracting took care of everything. Austin Wireman, was our Project Manager. He was on time and true to his word. He walked me through a time table of the project. My wife was home most of the time while the work was being completed. All of the different subs (carpet, drywall, electrician, etc.) were polite to her and cleaned up after themselves. I appreciate the quality of work, and the basement looks better than before!
