great. they are very helpful. I have used American homepatient and wished I haden't, not good. But Cooley is local so you talk to a real person.

    Home Instead Senior Care
It was probably 4 to 5 months ago. I had them for short period of time. They did a good job but did not work with my needs because I needed the same person everyday to come and they could not provide that because I only had them 2 days a week. So, if I had them 5 days a week, they could have given me someone for the everyday same person. So, what I demanded to was it worked out, that new person was coming every day. Every time they came and that did not work out for my wife. They were good, responsive, on time, and did good work while they were here. And I do not really know much else about him because they were only here for 2 weeks. They were good, young women, and have a registered nurse that comes out and evaluates. Then they have a person that was assigned as a supervisor ant they provide the people that came out to do actual care giving. They come with them the first few times they came out. But in my case, I have to come all the time because I cannot get a person every time. It was not their fault that they cannot provide the same person every day because my schedule did not allow that. I never saw their office. They are available, always punctual, and cordial. And when I finally say discharge them, but discontinue the service, they refunded moneys that I paid up front quickly. There is no treatment, it was just helping me on dressed and helped them paid, that kind of thing. So, that was good. They are the ones who gave me my money back for my deposit. I would certainly use them again.

    Gould's Discount Medical
I've always had good experiences with them. If there was a problem with the equipment, they are very quick to fix it. They are really great for in-home medical supplies. The price is comparable to other places I've looked, but the service is much better.

Amedisys Home Health of New Albany
I discontinued their service a couple of weeks ago as my wife is in a nursing home. They took care of her long term. They did wound dressing. The checked to make sure she was in bed properly and everything. They did it like for 5 years. They normally came 3 times a week. She had several problems that they worked on. She had pressure wounds. They checked those and made sure they kept the wounds up-to-date with dressings. She was in and out of the hospital. Every time she left their care and went to the hospital, they had to start over again like a new patient. They have very specific rules when they are dealing with Medicare. I would tell a friend or family member about Amedisys. They have registered nurses and nurse's aide, it is like going to the hospital, but being at home. We have one room setup almost like a hospital supply room. They setup appointments like a doctor's office and when they say they are going to be here, they are here. They usually came in the same time and the same day every week. They were pretty professional. When we have to break their cycle as she has to go to the hospital, then they send a RN here to check everything out to start over again. I will use them in the future.

I thought that their people, for the most part, they are good. I had one woman who was particularly very good. If you need help immediately, they can send someone in an emergency basis. They are remarkable on how they can do that. They are very dependable and they are very interested in your satisfaction with the people they send. They followup on things.

Dr Bennett was extremely compassionate and provided an excellent experience to an emotional and difficult situation. Having our dog pass away in our home peacefully meant the world to us. Cannot thank Dr Bennett enough.

    Heart's Ease Veterinary Hospice
I had heard of Dr. Courtney Bennett from a friend who had called on her when their dog was sick and needed to be put down.  Knowing this friend had been very pleased with the way Dr. B. handled everything, I referred her to my daughter when they had the same need for their old dog.  Again, everything was handled perfectly. I knew one day I would be contacting Dr. B. due to the age of our dog and decide to reach out via email and tell her who we were and about our dog, Max.  She was prompt in replying and said she was there if we ever needed her and to contact her if we felt she needed to come assess his needs. A few weeks later, she came to our home ~ pockets full of dog treats ~ and during a two hour visit was able to diagnose his condition, gave us tips on things to watch for and did a full physical on him.  This visit was not only for him, but for us in learning to deal with the present and prepare for the future. Just a few weeks later and after Max's health seemed on a rapid decline, we decided to schedule a time for her to come.  While it might sound callus to 'schedule' having a dog put down, we did this in order to have some control over the situation and we are very happy we chose this means.  For us to wait until he was worse put him and us at risk that he might suddenly be in pain, be unable to walk at all, who knows.  It also allowed us to clear our day of work, appointments, etc. and be fully present for him instead of risking that he might have a health crisis when we were gone or during the night. When May 5th came, we got up early, fixed breakfast and Max got bacon and eggs ~ something he usually couldn't tolerate due to food allergies.  He loved it !  When Dr. Bennett arrived with her aid, Max was overjoyed to see this person who carries pockets full of treats and wouldn't leave her side.  When we decided it was time, we spread a blanket out under the trees and while he was busy stealing bites of cheese from me, she gently injected him with a sedative. He didn't feel a thing. Within 3-4 minutes, he went from 'all about the cheese' to 'I think I'll curl up here and take a nap."  There was no staggering, drugged look about him. He just looked like a very content dog with a belly full of food and loving pats all around.  He was soon sound asleep and snoring loudly.  Again, this eased the transition as he did not look drugged ~ just peacefully napping. Dr. Bennett told us every step of the way what she was doing or about to do and always asked for our permission before moving on.  At this point she asked if we were ok with her administering the final injection.  Seeing how peaceful he was and knowing that we had made the right decision for him, she took that last step and then listened to his heart.  Within a couple of minutes she said he was gone.  All I could think of was how peaceful it was and how he had drifted off to his next life while lying in his favorite spot in the yard on a blanket in the morning sun with his family around him.  I could only wonder why we're not able to offer this to our human loved ones, because this would certainly be my choice as to how to leave this earth. We were given as much time as we wanted to say goodbye.  We wrapped him up in a sheet along with his favorite bone and stuffed bear.  Dr. B and her aid carried him to her car on a small stretcher where he was then taken to Faithful Companions Pet Cremation in Jeffersonville, IN.  As we had requested, a few days later we received his ashes back.  They arrived in a beautifully carved wooden box with a certificate, a stamp of his paw print, a clipping of his fur and a nice card from Dr. B. The final charge for Dr. Bennett to come to the house that day, the cremation and return of ashes was $400.  All in all, I can't think of a single way in which this could have been improved upon.  Dr. Bennett is kind, compassionate and delivers a much needed service in the pet community through geriatric, palliative and hospice care.

They offer their services to the families of those who are dying, and they are an excellent, excellent organization. They are convenient, friendly, and prompt. I felt totally confident in the information they gave me, some people feel that if they go to a doctor’s office, they will get better information and advice, but these people were very professional and knew what they were talking about. There were doctors involved, but they just didn’t make every visit, because that would not be cost effective. I definitely would be using them again in the future.

The speech therapist was fantastic.  She not only provided dad the therapy he needed, she became as much a friend.  To my father, it didn't seem like therapy and he looked forward to her visits. They would talk and laugh and it was such a joy to see my father in such good spirits.  As a result of the stroke, he suffered short term memory loss, which was as frustrating as any physical effects.  In his frustration,  "I don't know" became an automatic response to the simplest of questions.  Julia would always tell him "I don't know isn't an answer" and before long, he'd be back in the conversation.  Almost a year later, when he says "I don't know" and  I ask him what would Julia say if you said that, he smiles and tells me "that's not an answer."  Caretenders was able to provide my father with a therapist who was able to bring back some of what was lost in his stroke.  She was able to provide his family with the knowledge of how to continue to work with him when he had progressed enough to no longer require their services.  Always punctual, always there on time with a smile.  Excellent at leaving us notes when one of us couldn't be there to talk with and available to answer our questions and concerns.  I have seen her in town and without hesitation, she asks how my father is doing and to give him her well wishes.  Without reservation, I fully recommend Caretenders Speech Therapy services.
