    Ebbs, Dr. Marcia D.
I have been seeing the doctor for about 4-5 years. I recently called in twice for a referral and I have not received a response. The doctor does take her time with you and is a great listener. She is concerned about her patients well being. The wait time in the office is longer than it should. I have not had a problem scheduling an appointment with the doctor.

Dr. Makk and his office staff are very good. Knee was replaced and I'm now undergoing therapy. Dr. Makk explains the problem very well and has a good bed-side manner. Office staff arranged surgery dates, pre-admission testing and insurance requirements. So far, no problems. I would definitely recommend Dr. Makk.
Dr. Makk also replaced my hip in Jan 2012. No problems with it.

Everything was fine until I refused to give out my Social Security number. They had my Insurance card and my driver's license and were about to get my co-payment. But I just don't give out my Social Security number to just anyone. I have no way of knowing how secure their computer system is and my experience has been that most insurance companies can operate with your date of birth. So I protect my SSN to prevent identity theft. I would have liked to use Dr. Eichenberger but her company policy prevented that.

Simple observation of area, with biopsy taken. Very little communication with MD, he was quiet, didn't want to talk at all, just get the biopsy done and on to next patient. I as an RN, had questions, and concerns, they were not received well, he seemed not willing to take the time. The patient was my husband. Office and quot;nurseand quot; was not educated in medicine at all, not effective evaluation prior to MD visit. Follow up appt. was same wait, +/- 30 min. Diagnosis was given, benign, no other treatments needed. For simple problems, would return, probably could have had same treatment at family MD.

We have always been pleased with Baptist Medical Associates in Crestwood.  I feel the entire staff is very knowledgable in their individual areas, very pleasant and helpful.  We see Janet Scherzer and feel she is great!! Takes her time with us and we always feel like she is listening to us.  Her nurse Nina is also great.  We feel welcomed from the initial contact with the receptionist all the way through the appointment.

After he looked over the info the Dr had sent to him, he then checked our daughter over. He listened to all of our questions and concerns. He even let our daughter ask questions and answered in terms she was able to understand.

Had the colonoscopy and endoscopy at the same time, and the procedure went great. Jewish Medical Center Northeast was terrific and the process was painfree. One second I was casually talking with the nurse in the procedure room and the next I awakened to my husband's voice that I was and quot;back alreadyand quot;. After 30 minutes, we were heading home and I felt like I hadn't had anything done and fully alert. Highly recommend both the medical facility and the doctor.

    Cleveland Clinic General Internal Medicine
OMG! OMG! What an unbelievable experience. I've never been treated this well in any other medical facility anywhere. My family members had nothing but great things to say about the CC doctors and staff. Miine was a difficult and delicate surgery that their experts turned in to a standard procedure. Normal after surgery hospital stay is 5-7 days. I was discharged and home and pain free in 4 days. I had a full day of tests the day before surgery. From 8:30 am to 5:15 pm. Their professional staff had me done by 3:30. And they did not miss anything, very professional and friendly. The Cleveland Clinic operates with a "Patients First" philosophy. They exceeded all of my expectations and then some. I would like to give them 10 star rating if I could.

    Ellis, Dr. Robert E
I have water on my knee and went in to him one time. He told me to just take it easy and to take over-the-counter pain medication. He told me if it got worse to come and see him and he would drain it. I went to him again because it did get worse and I could barely walk. The doctor then told me he could not drain it because it would cause infection and he would not give me anything for pain. He sent me on my way but it got worse so I called to tell him and he told me to go see another doctor because I told him I wanted an MRI and he refused that. I found another doctor and things turned out okay but I would not want anybody else to go through that. His availability was good and the equipment was great. He is very friendly and is nice in conversation.

    Fortwengler, Dr. Jessica L.
During the office visit, Dr. Fortwengler was easy to talk to, listened attentively, and asked many questions.  "Great!" I thought - I like her!  While discussing the family history, I told her of my sister and cousin - both diagnosed in their 20's with high cholesterol.  And that they were shocked that at 40 I had never had mine checked.  I also mentioned that they both told me a symptom of high cholesterol was excessive underarm sweating (a condition all 3 of us share) and asked if that were true.  She said probably not and prescribed an antiperspirant that worked wonders (which I am elated about!).  After a couple of days, my labs were returned and indeed my cholesterol was quite high - prescription and follow up in 3-4 months.  I want to mention Dr. Fortwengler sent me a "Thank You" card in the mail stating she looked forward to our new relationship which I thought was a very thoughtful touch.

After a couple of weeks I received a notice from Anthem that my visit was not being covered - what?  When I called them to get to the bottom of it I was told that the office visit was coded to the sweating issue and not the cholesterol check.  "Easy mistake" I thought and contacted the doctor's office to have it corrected.  I was met with a very haughty office manager, Pam, who told me the bill could not be changed.  I explained that the purpose, diagnosis, and treatment for my visit was cholesterol related and that the sweating was entirely incidental.  She still insisted that changing the bill would amount to fraud - "no" I said, "not fraud - A MISTAKE".  She argued ( ARGUED!) with me over it and finally I asked to have Dr. Fortwengler call me so I could discuss it with her instead - after all, Pam was not a party to our visit and would not realize how absurd her argument was.

After two phone messages to Dr. Fortwengler to correct the billing error went unanswered - at the end of my next visit (unrelated to the first) I politely asked if she had gotten my messages.  I was told "Doctors do not speak to patients about billing"  THE ARROGANCE!  A good doctor will return a patient's phone call regardless of the matter!  She went on to agree with the ridiculous argument I had already heard from the office manager, dismissing me with "I think we're done here".

This young doc has A LOT to learn -
