    Lohr, Dr. Joann M
Dr. Lohr is an awesome surgeon! I would recommend her to anyone, and have. She did a biopsy in the office, surgery to remove cancer from my breast. She is a very compassionate doctor and also very busy. You may have to wait in the waiting room, but it is well worth it. She really knows what she is doing.

    Reed, Dr. Amy
Rarely do you meet a physician who takes the time to explain in detail the patient s problem(s) and the doctor s concern. I told Dr. Reed she should give lessons to many of the physicians I have met over the year that are still practicing medicine. She is an exemplar to her profession and it came as no surprise to me that she was listed among the top vascular surgeons in the Nov. 2008 issue of a local magazine.

    Lohr, Dr. Joann M
She is the head of the vascular department at the hospital I go to. She did a wonderful job with the operation leaving no scars. I wish I knew 20 years ago about the vascular closure surgery, when I had my leg chopped up. They run a little wire up the vein, close it with a radio frequency and pull out the wire slowly which closes the vein leaving no scars. I had a protruding vein that ran all over my groin till my knee but wasn't aware of this procedure. I am supposed to have a surgery on my left leg in the near future and will be going to her as she is good.

    Mayfield Institute
They are world renowned surgeons. They travel all over the world to do surgeries. The VA pays for everything so I don't have to get a bill. They are excellent.

    Guenther, Dr. J Michael
Dr. Guenther was very warm and friendly. He was very sympathetic and explained things very clearly and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. After the lymphectomy, he acted as though he was taking it very personally and advised clearly that the breast needed to be removed. He made me feel very comfortable and I felt I could trust him completely.

    Shiff, Dr. Brian M.
This is ongoing treatment as the wound continues to be a problem but I believe it's met its match in Dr Shiff's determination.

    Lohr, Dr. Joann M
I had multiple blood clots in my legs, and lungs in 2010. Dr. Lohr was my assigned physician at the Hospital. When I met her I saw immediately that she had a very strong personality, either you were going to love her or hate her. She had been taking care of my treatment up until late 2012. Dr. Lohr and her office staff provided my exams, protimes ( blood tests to check for thickness of your blood if you are taking blood thinners), scheduled tests, etc. From the beginning I found her front office receptionist to be unfriendly and down right rude. All but one Medical assistant were unpersonable and unfriendly, just very cold. Dr Lohr has an attitude that she is the best in her field and does not like to be questioned about her treatment from the patient. Every time I went in for any appointment, not only did I have to deal with a rude, unfriendly receptionist, I felt like I was talked down to and belittled by Dr. Lohr, who I felt couldn't wait to get out the door to her next patient. Last spring, 2012, I hit my head rather h****** the car door frame. Dr Lohr had told me if I ever hit my head to call her office immediately or head to emergency. So I called. I waited for Dr. Lohr's call back but several minutes went by so I called a friend who is a nurse. She asked me questions, told me what to look for, what my husband should be watching for and she called me back a few hours later to check on me. Over an hour went by and no call from Dr. Lohr. Finally, after the office opened one of her Medical assistants called me to ask what I needed. I asked why Dr. Lohr didn't call me and why it took over an hour. I was told because I had call block on my number and she couldn't get through. Which was untrue. I don't even know how to use call block. I was very disappointed and appauld that Dr. Lohr couldn't be bothered to call me. Whenever I asked for a return call during the time she was in charge of my care, She never did, she always had her medical assistants do it. Last Summer, after talking during a physical exam with my PCP , who I have been seeing for 31 years, suggested I see a hematolagist about my Blood clots, because Dr. Lohr couldn't tell me why I had gotten them but told me I would be on the blood thinners for life, He said (and my pulmonary doctor agreed) the Hemologist, was who I should have seen at the beginning of the treatment for the blood clots and he could most likely give me a better understanding of my situation. I explained to my PCP that Dr. Lohr was not going to like that. He assured me that all doctors were mature enough to handle it and it happens everyday so they have to be able to and quot;play well with othersand quot;. I saw the Hemotologist a few weeks later and he took blood for a protime and other tests to determine the cause of the blood clots. He not only gave me the cause for clots but gave me the time to ask any questions I had and I didn't feel like he couldn't wait to jet out of the room. I had my blood drawn weekly by a standing order at the time at the hospital from Dr. Lohr for Protime tests. After having one done a few days after seeing the Hemotolgist, I didn't hear back from her office for a couple days so I called to see if they had my results. An office worker called me back and told me that Dr. Lohr said because another doctor (the Hemotologist) took my protime (once) she was no longer going to do them. So in short Dr. Lohr does not and quot;play well with othersand quot;. I was suppose to see Dr Lohr in Sept. I had an appontment to discuss further treatment for the swelling in my legs. I cancelled that appointment and said I would no longer allow this office to treat me in this manner and I quit her practice. The Hemotologist provides my care now. This may have just been my experience. Dr. Lohr is a very good and competent vascular surgeon. She took very good care of my treatment. I just expected more friendliness from her staff, and professionalism from her.

    Rolf Brunckhorst MD
After we left the hospital, we followed the instruction they gave us in the emergency room on how to care for the wound. We went to see Dr. Brunckhorst one time and he said it looked good. Afterwards, we continued to follow the instructions. We did this for about a week. My husband was taking a bath, my husband's leg was out of the tub and I notice a horrible smell. I got my husband out of the tub. I noticed that he also looked grey so I decided to call Dr. Brunckhorst. It was about 11:00pm when I called. When I called him I told him we followed the instructions and that there is a strong odor. He asked if I realized that it was the weekend and that it was late. He got upset and said he wouldn't be available until Monday and then hung on the phone on me. We met him Monday like he said and went into the office, Dr. Brunckhorst, a nurse, myself, my daughter, and my husband were in there. They unwrapped his leg and then the doctor looked at me and asked how I could let this get so bad. I told him that I called him and that he hung up on me. They cleaned it and re wrapped it, told us we had to see another doctor because they were done with us. He blames the whole thing on us.
