It was awesome! Above and beyond what any "normal" kennel would offer. You don't have to pay for every extra and add on, and we were very comfortable knowing that the girls had a lot of attention and were well taken care of. I even got pics/texts to update me!

This is the 2nd time I have used Country Lane for my 4 and 15 year old dogs and this is now the ONLY place I will take my pets when I travel, even though it is a 45 minute drive each way for me to take them there.  The "resort" is set back in a wooded area and actually looks more like a "retreat for pets" and is warm and inviting from the minute you arrive (as opposed to overwhelming and sterile like some of the more recent "mega pet resorts").
The resort is truly "all-inclusive" and play time and medication are included in the price your are given up-front.  You don't leave feeling like you have cheated your dog because you can only afford 1 play time and 1 extra potty break instead of 4 like the owner checking in in front of you.  All dogs are loved, exercised, taken outside to be relieved, and treated equally.
Twice when I have been gone on extended trips, I have emailed Randy for an update because one of my dogs is elderly and tends to refuse to eat and lose weight when I am out of town.  Randy has emailed me back with detailed and positive updates.  Whenever I return to pick up my pets, they are happy to see me, but not ecstatic, out of control, and wetting themselves like has happened as some other "resorts".  I take this as a sign that they are glad I am back, but did not feel neglected, abused, frightened, or scared while I was gone.  This tells me they are given lots of love and attention, and makes me feel less stressed about leaving my "pups" in their care.
It it well worth the drive to get to Country Lane if you are looking for individualized attention for your pets, and a group of people to care for them exactly as you want them to be cared for.

We have been taking our dog to New Beginnings for a year.  We adopted our dog from a shelter when she was six months old and we were apprehensive and concerned about some of her development and behavior she was exhibiting.  We found New Beginnings on the web and saw that they offered tours of their facility.  We were greeted by the friendly staff and then taken  on a complete tour of the facility by Gabby.  We were very impressed with the cleanliness, neatness and organization of every part of the facility.  Gabby and Kathy answered every question that we had and when we left we knew that our little dog would be in very good hands.  The feeling that we have at New Beginnings is that our dog is as happy there as she is when she is home.  She is excited to go and see Bree and play all day.  When boarding, Karen and her staff are sure to find out what makes my dog comfortable and her likes and dislikes.  New Beginnings provides more than just a place to drop my dog for a day or two.  It provides a place where I can feel very comfortable and confident that they always have my dogs best interest in mind and that she is very well taken care of.  We went through a training class and it was very evident that a lot of what we were learning in the training had already been worked on while she had been in Day Care.  Karen and her staff are the best and we thoroughly love the New Beginnings experience.

Wonderful job.  Dogs are soft and the coats look great.  The people are very friendly and obviously love dogs.  Felt completely comfortable leaving them there.  Will definitely go back.

I have been boarding my dogs with Almost Home for several years now and wrote a report when I first boarded them. I just had another great experience and thought it was time to write another report. I had been embarrased about one of the dog's long nails and was surprised to find both their nails all clipped when I picked them up. I told Patty that even when muzzled, Ralph would try to nip me. She said she muzzled him, too, but had no problem at all. As usual, they looked health and happy and even had nice nails this time. I suggest to dog owners: don't think that your dogs care about the fountain in the entryway of a kennel. What they care about is having familiar faces and being taken care of by people who know how to handle dogs. Almost Home doesn't have the young kids working who come and go like some other kennels and the owners love the animals and keep an exceptionally clean facility.

Our dog has stayed anywhere from two to ten nights and each time we drop her off and pick her up she is quite happy. We especially like that all dogs are treated equally well at Country Lane unlike other places we considered where your dog is treated well only if you are willing to purchase things like walks, time outside, and treats. Instead of agonizing over how much we kindness we are willing to pay for each time we have to go out of town, at Country Lane we know she is going to be treated well at the fixed nightly rate. We are so happy that we drive about 40 minutes each way to Country Lane even though there are places just 7 minutes from our house.

This is a wonderful facility owned by two sisters, Patty and Jenny, who live next door to the kennel and who seem to love animals. I dropped in before deciding to board my dogs and was given a tour of the facility by Jenny. The kennel was kept very clean, and Jenny talked about several of the ''regulars'' who were there and how some of them had special needs in order to make them comfortable at the kennel. One of my dogs, Ralph, does not like strangers, but I was told by Patty that she can usually get to be buddies even with dogs like Ralph. When I picked up my dogs, lo and behold, Ralph even let Patty pet him and tell him goodbye! I highly recommend Almost Home to any pet owner.
