Chimney Repair reviews in Crestview Hills

Roger was a true professional. We brought him in based on a recommendation and could not be happier. We brought him in to clean an existing chimney as we had a strong smoke odor permeating our house. Roger came in and found safety issues and recommended the right person to fix the issues. Roger was knowledgeable, professional, and punctual. I would certainly hire him again.

We were promised the work to be started "no later than...", but it did not start until a week later. What was said to be a one day job actually took a week and we had to call when some things were skipped. Response to calls was slow.

Hearthside did an amazing job repairing tuck points on the house and repairing the chimney.  Work was completed in a day and looks great.  They were even able to match the color of the mortar on a 35 year old house!

I had gotten another estimate from another chimney shop and there was a big difference in the estimate and what my insurance company valued the damage to be. So I called Brian who was recommended by a friend of mine and he came out and looked it over and gave me a quote to replace the liner and repair the chimney. The estimate came in right in line with what my adjuster had come up with. We want to have it repaired before Christmas and Brian worked it out perfectly. His guys know what they are doing and they do it well. The work is very dusty and dirty but they take the time and care that it takes to not make a mess. My wife came home after they left and didn't think they had been there. They left the are around the fireplace spotless.  If you need this work done I highly recommend using Brian and his team.

Roger Esham and his son Tyler were excellent.  Roger is a professional and knows the business.  He was prompt and explained each step in the process.  Very clean and no mess at all.  I have had numerous Chimney Sweeps over the years and non that I would recommend except Eshams Chimney Sweeps.  Great Job.

Bruce Ryan Masonry did an excellent job on the chimney.  The brick that he used to replace the top part of the chimney was a great match; looks wonderful.  His crew was professional. Family owned business which does beautiful work. I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Ftizpatrick and his team provided a lower cost, attractive alternative to rebuilding our large chimney which was deteriorating and allowing water to leak into the fireplace in our house.  The bricks on our chimney were deteriorating and the chimney was leaking, especially badly during heavy rain.  At times, up to a gallon of water was collected in buckets inside our fireplace.  All other estimates focused on rebuilding the chimney at a cost of  $12,000-$18,000.  Mr. Fitzpatrick suggested covering the chimney with stucco, fixing the top and waterproofing it.  We chose a color which matched the existing brick.  Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about how it would look but financially it was the obvious option.
The job was well done and looks GREAT!!  I was very happy with the result.  Even better, not a drop of water in our fireplace since the job was completed.  They also replaced a brick window sill and offered another less expensive option to rebuilding a wing wall where the bricks were deteriorating.  Mr. Fitzpatrick and his son were professional, skilled, very pleasant, did a great job and cleaned up.  I would definitely use them again for our masonry issues.

Tony Jones did not pour a concrete footer (clearly outlined on his proposal and contract to be 30" below the surface).  He only poured a 6" slab.  The result is an outdoor fireplace that is cracking and falling apart.  I tried to resolve this peacefully with Tony Jones, but he refused to admit his guilt/fault.  He sent out his "expert engineer" to inspect my fireplace and he said my "fires were too hot and that is what is causing the cracking."  He said until I could proved to him that his workmanship was at fault, he was not going to help resolve the matter.  I called three other masons and they all agreed Tony Jones neglected to pour the concrete footer (that he charged me $700 for as a separate item on the proposal/contract).  I let Tony Jones know I had written documents from other masons outlining his faulty workmanship, yet Tony did not return any of my calls.  I've since hired an attorney, spent lots of money to rightfully sue Tony Jones, and was granted a default judgment in the amount of $12,200.00, plus interest, reasonable attorneys fees. Problem is, Tony Jones does not show as owning anything........no businesses, no house, no car, no assets....nothing.  Yet, Google "jonesnbar" and discover that Tony Jones operates a bar (actually 2 of them), yet he has no assets and no money?  On top of all this, he even asked me to cancel the check I made out to Tony Jones Masonry on November 21, 2008 and asked me to write him a personal check so he could avoid paying taxes.......tax evasion on top of all this.

The "salesperson" who quoted the job was very thorough and pleasant.  Down to earth.  Got the sense he had done a lot of the physical work himself. Actually looked like he had just come from a job site -- which is fine -- we don't require a suit and tie for this type of sales call!
But, a couple weeks later when we decided to hire Bone Dry, he was no longer with the company.  That was a little disappointing.  But, the company responded quickly, did the work and came back two weeks later to finish a 'seal' coat.
The first day was tuck pointing of brick around the house and on the chimneys, as well as applying a seal coat cap to the chimneys and cleaning the brick.
The second day was focused on the walkway, and got rained out a little.  The work was finished on the third day.
Prior to the second visit (two weeks later), we noticed some other areas that either had been missed in the initial inspection or needed more attention.  One spot was a long crack over the garage that we completely overlooked on our first survey of the house.  Bone Dry attended to all the issues and there was no additional charge.
We think the walkway still needs more work, and feel the work was somewhat of a bandaid approach.  But we could not spend the extra money some of the other companies wanted to completely re-do the entire walkway, brick by brick.  While not perfect, we feel Bone Dry did a good job with what they had to work with.

Great Company to work with! I felt very comfortable with A New Rooftime, an honest recommendation was given to ensure the proper repairs are made to our fire place. We will definitely call A New Rooftime in the spring when we are ready for a new roof and other repairs to our 100 year old home.
