Transmission Service reviews in Crescent Springs

I?m writing this review to sing the praises of Quality Transmissions and Auto Repair and its owner Craig Bram.
I originally took my ?04 Explorer into our local shop because it was having transmissions issues. After a quick test drive and bench test they determined that 3rd and 4th gears were gone and it needed a new transmission at a cost of $3,500. Therefore,
the SUV sat for a month while I figured out what to do.

While searching Craigslist I stumbled upon a listing for an ASE certified Master Tech that had 10 years experience rebuilding transmissions who guaranteed to beat anyone?s price. I figured what the heck and emailed the owner of the post with the symptoms I was experiencing. Craig promptly emailed me back and let me know he could rebuild the transmission for $1,300 and it would come with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty.
At this point I seemed a little skeptical since $1,300 was way under what other shops were quoting me, but I figured I would give it a shot. As soon as I got to the shop and met Craig all of my fears were assuaged as Craig is a very professional, polite, knowledgeable man. Craig started on the Explorer on Friday and had it ready to go by Wednesday of the following week
which was within the time frame he quoted. Drove it home and it is shifting like a champ.

So I guess the moral of the story is: don?t judge a book by its cover and not everyone on Craigslist is looking to scam you. Some of them are very honest hard working people that trying their best to give it a go on their own. So if your car ain?t shifting right, go see Craig!

Not knowing exactly what the problem was, Matt was able to fix the problem.  The car is 7 years old and he recommended to have the coolent flushed and replaced as well as the transmission fluid replaced.  He also reminded me it was time for an oil change.  This was not done to get more business, it was a recommendation given the age and milage on the car.  Also they were having a special at the time thus saving me money.

I have been taking my car to Ernie's for over 6 years now and I have always been satisfied with their service and customer service.  I trust them and they are very timely and upfront as to what needs to be done without pressure.

When the transmission went out on my van, I was afraid the repair was going to be very expensive. I was able to locate a used transmission at a wrecking yard in very good condition and needed someone to perform the install. I was very disappointed by the "transmission shops" willingness to do the work and was pleased when I called Bill's. Not only was he able to do the work, he was honest and up front with the estimate. Since the vehicle was already going in for service, I asked them to go ahead and change out the oil, look into the A/C and fix an old exhaust leak. I am happy to report that before spending any of my money in diagnosing the A/C problem, he told me that the system had never been changed over to the r134a cooling system and probably wouldn't be worth the effort. Huge thanks for saving me some $$ on that. At the end of the day, my total bill was less than the labor alone being quoted by other shops. I grew up the son of an auto mechanic who is regionally recognized for his honesty and has the lifetime customers to prove it. Walking into Bill's, I got the feeling I was in good company. They've got me as a customer for as long as I live in the area!

I currently have a vehicle in need of transmission work. Based on the behavior, it is believed to require a complete overhaul. Through Car-Part.com I had located a low mile warranted used transmission (47K miles A grade) for significantly less than the cost of rebuilding. When asked about getting a labor estimate, the business lied about anyone being willing to perform a replacement with a customer supplied part. I was told "The industry standard is to not offer this service". I have worked auto repair in the past and know this is not the case (a business may not warrant the part, but that is very different than being told it can't be done). I was also told that the overall labor costs would be nearly double the price of having the work done by the business that ultimately is performing the work. Sorry, this is a major failure in my book.

Could not have been better. The entire shop was very professional, communication was great, and the work was completed on time. I will be back for all of my transmission work.
