I spoke to Mike Townsend on the phone and scheduled an appointment for him to come and quote a complete kitchen remodel job in our home. Mike did not keep the appointment and did not call to cancel or reschedule. I am so glad we found out that he is unprofessional and unreliable BEFORE hiring him!

    JPR Construction & Remodeling
We hired JPR Construction(owner Steve Motyka) to finish a bathroom project that I started in January of 2019. I gave him a large down payment mid February of 2019 with the understanding that the work would be completed by the end of the month. The work wasnt started by JPR Construction until mid March. He and one of his employees would come randomly and spend two to as much four hours each visit, make an excuse, promise to return later that day or early the next day, and then not honor his promise. This happened countless times. By late April, the bathroom wasnt usable and we put additional pressure on him to complete the work and he got it functional and we mistakenly paid him the balance. At the point, he needed to do probably another eight hours of work, half of which he completed in the whole month of May. By the end of May, we had to have the work completed by another source. This is no way to run a business or treat a repeat customer. I would not and can not recommend hiring JPR Construction for any home projects.

    Lou Vaughn Remodeling
We were beyond thrilled with the work Lou did for us!! His work is exceptional. He was here every day when he said he would be and at the end of the day, he made sure that the area was vacuumed up and livable. We were very impressed that he utilizes a portable hepa air filter so the house stayed dust free and there was no need for hanging plastic sheeting. Lou was very flexible and always willing to go the extra mile. His only concern was that we were happy with the result. Weve worked with other contractors before, but have never experienced the level professionalism and craftsmanship that we have with Lou. We wont bother calling anyone else for future projects.

Great experience with Cody. We needed to repair tile in our shower/bath combo and took the opportunity to make some structural and stylistic improvements along the way including some plumbing/fixture replacement. He was up front and honest from the first conversation about the project including logical and fair feedback about the scope, timelines, and pricing. We discussed areas of the project that were opportunities for cost savings and he helped us make decisions that left us confident each step of the way. His experience provided good insight into best practices and style choices. This included added two shower inserts that improved the look and functionality of the shower for only couple hundred more dollars. The project began with demo on a Monday and wrapped up on Saturday, only deviated from the projected schedule by a few hours. Cody was pleasant, and patient with our protective dog who barked at him daily reminding him who's house it was, haha. Very pleased with the work and believe the pricing was fair.

    Mr. Handyman of Greater Cincinnati/NKY
We've worked with Mr. Handyman before and we have always been happy. They once again provided quality work at a reasonable price. Their resident bathroom expert, George, did great work and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely use them again.

Perfect! We were told the shower design we wanted was unrealistic. But they pulled it off. It is the highlight of our home and we love it. Our home is 100 year old home and we had the bathroom completely gutted and changed. Adding another access to a bedroom. We are very pleased.

Serviceman was right and time and did a very efficient and effective job. It was obvious from the moment we explained what we needed done that he knew what he was doing and then proceeded to show us that he did.

    Klare Custom Design
I would highly recommend Jon Klare to complete any renovation project that you are doing in your home. Jon was reliable, punctual, professional and did an excellent job. Jon was also very patient and understanding when we made unexpected changes to our project. Jon also had to pick up materials that we had forgotten and he even repaired our back-splash that was delivered broken. I am 110% satisfied with the outcome of our bathroom and also the experience we had with Jon Klare. He is coming back in a few months to work on our next project. Karen Witemyre

    Kentucky Home Improvement
We contracted Kentucky Home Improvement to work on our 1865 Italianate house; our projects included demolish and rebuild of a second floor deck with composite material, demolish and rebuild of an existing kitchen addition, modification a load bearing wall, and constructing a green roof on top of a detached garage. Mike Townsend and his crew were incredibly professional and friendly, and were able to finish our projects ahead of schedule; Mike was even willing to attend our meeting with the Historic Preservation Board when we presented our projects for approval. Our construction began after we purchased our home with a 203K loan; we were very pleased with the way Mike worked with us, and our mortgage broker, and HUD inspector to complete the process. Mike was always very prompt in responding to emails and texts and was open to any changes that we needed to make. He is reliable and starts when he says he is going to start. Even with a very cold winter, his crew was working non-stop to make sure our property was finished as quickly as possible. The crowning achievement with our relationship with Mike was the green roof. This engineering challenge required the removal of a gable roof on top of a detached 2-car garage, reinforcing the structure with steel I-beams, installing a drainage system, filling the space with soil and grass seed, building a pergola, building a horizontal privacy fence around the perimeter of the structure, building a bench, and adding electrical outlets. Mike turned what was originally a crazy idea, that turned into sketches and renderings, to reality and we are very pleased with the end result; this project added 250sqft of grass to an urban property that had none to begin with, and our dogs thoroughly enjoy having the extra green space. Mike also worked very well around any additional contractors that we needed to bring in (furnace went out unexpectedly and Duke had to upgrade our service and raise our service mast). Kentucky Home Improvement was certainly not the cheapest option, but the quality was well worth the price difference. We would highly recommend Mike Townsend to anyone looking for a contractor; our advice would be to make sure you have invested some time thinking through your plans, be open to professional opinion, and understand your budget.

    Built By B
Can't speak highly enough about Brian! He was recommended to install my cabinets by the designer who worked on my kitchen. We also had him do some light electrical work and flooring repairs (hardwood), microwave install and plumbing work. Brian has a great attention to detail, and was very responsive along the way. I keep a tidy home, and from the way that he worked and things he said, I know that cleanliness and being respectful of the homes he's working in is important to him. After day 1, I felt completely comfortable handing Brian the keys so he could come and go as he needed to get the job done when I was at work. He was able to make recommendations and help with decision making as we progressed the work, so I appreciated the additional consults. Overall nice guy and very easy to work with. We love the results and I wouldn't hesitate to have Brian do another job for me anytime.
