Excavating reviews in Covington

We have done a lot of renovating to our home, and one area you need an excellent contractor for is drainage, especially when your home is built on the slope. Stan Drainage is a great value, and I would recommend them for three reasons: First, they are technically competent, its why they’ve been in business so long. Second; they keep you apprised of their schedule, walk you through each step of the project and explain what materials and techniques they use before and during the project. Lastly, they stand behind their work and never fail to address your concerns. The following paragraph briefly outlines what they did for us with photos. Our basement leaked as the people who flipped the house did not understand how to correct it properly. We contacted Stan Drainage, and they reviewed the areas we had problems with water intrusion in the foundation. They provided a timely quote and worked when they had a break in the weather. Understand that they will need dry weather when doing this project, so be patient, it’s no different than putting on a new roof. They excavated, repaired the leak points in the foundation, sealed the foundation, replaced the tile at the footer, corrected all the downspouts, installed window wells, and plumbed the front of the garage to account for the flash off the driveway. I have enclosed some photos of their work in process through the completion of the project. Recommend you give Stan Drainage call when considering this type of work. Kevin Sari, Home Owner

Very professional Technically, as with the majority of reviews here, was terrific. Not expected was the very high level of courtesy, consideration, and craftsmanship. when they seeded grass and covered with straw, they also patched some bare spots along our driveway; 30 ft. from their work area!! Hurrah! All the drainage, foundation work and foundation reinforcement cost less than an estimate we had (a different contractor) for foundation work alone! Removed all construction debris!!!

Once the weather warmed up a call was received that the crew would be there by 10 AM on 1/27/16. They arrived on time. Again explained everything they were going to do in detail and immediately went to work. A lot of trenching caused a lot of dirt. They kept the entire evacuation under control and even power washed the sidewalks and lower patio to remove any mud from the trenching or the workers needing to step on the walks and/or patio. I would not hesitate to use Stan and his crew again and personally highly recommend them for any of your drainage problems.

Feb 27, 2013 Bill Kramer did an EXCELLENT job on our 1/4 mile gravel driveway.  At that time Mr. Kramer fixed all the lumps and bumps in the road and we were thrilled to find a person who knew how to work on gravel driveways.  Well, this year, I started contacting them in April into May to work on our driveway again.  We needed a ditch dug on the side of our driveway so that water run off doesn't create ruts in our gravel driveway and we needed additional rock/gravel delivered and evenly distributed on the road.

Someone at his house takes calls but that seems to be the dead end.  I did get one call back and I was told that they were very busy in the spring.   I understand that putting in septic and cisterns takes priority over a driveway so I told them I would try again toward summer.  I then called again in June and July.  As of today, I have just given up on this person.  If Mr. Kramer is so busy that he cannot stop over to look at the job and give me a quote, the heck with his business...I am moving on.  If he didn't want the job, he should have just said he didn't do residential drives anymore or he could have supplied me with another company that he thought could do a good job.     I have now called another Excavating company.

A team of three people showed up when promised and worked steadily to cmplete the job in approximately 5 hours.  Our lawn was in good shape and they were very respectful and careful not to damage the lawn any more than necessary.  I would not hestitate to use them again for any plumbing need.
I had requested and received several other bids for this work.  Additionally, a trusted plumbing professional had told me what to request and what I should expect in the way of pricing.  Jolly Plumbing hit this dead on while other local companies were quote prices quite a bit higher.
When all of the work was done and the crew & equipment gone, I felt like I had made a good choice and that I had gotten my money's worth - a rare feeling these days.

My home is historic and thus the foundation is cracked. When it rained, water would rush in and we couldn't figure out from where because it was like a water fall. Turns out, a buried downspout pipe was just old and falling apart and water was rushing underground into the basement! Foundation Masters suggested we go to Lowe's and buy a $15 expandable plastic pipe, we hooked it up to the spout coming down the side of our house and directed it out into the yard. What do you know, it worked! He could have easily suggested digging up the basement floor and installing a pump but instead suggested a cheaper option.

Let me tell you this - a company called EverDry comes out to your house with a 2 hour proposal, a DVD, and binders of junk and asks you to make a decision on the spot whether to spend $10,000, $17,000, or $24,000 to fix your basement. This guy from Foundation Masters did it for free with no pressure at all. I would recommend them just for their honesty!

The project we took on started in early July.  Eastgate Pool and Spas was highly recommended to us from serveral people and my sister was one of them.  I went there and was immediately happy with the experience and attention that Debbie paid to me.  She gave me good information, feedback on my concerns and the confidence that we selected the right pool for my family size. and the property we were putting it on.
The first step was to have our yard excavated and that was a concern since we live in Kentucky and there are very few flat yards here.  Ours has a long and fairly even slope and needed to be dug out.  We were told that it would need to be dug out about 7' deep. Our excavator was excellent (only word I can use for him).  Ask for Rodney, he is the best!!! He was also the guy who installed our pool and I was so happy with his work, I had him come and build the deck around the pool.  He excavated the ground to 1/8" level. It was like an artist at work..(so impressed!!!!) He gave us good advise regarding spacing for the retaining wall and he dug everything out for us for a very reasonable cost.  After the retaining wall was installed, Rodney came back and installed the pool with precision.  He knew exactly how long it would take and set up the timing for the water to be delivered.  We were swimming in 4 days after the pool was filled.  The last few weeks of August we enjoyed the pool... We had Rodney come to build our deck and he produced a deck that we just cannot wait to use next year.  It is beautiful and exactly what we wanted.  We are sooooo pleased with our experience at Eastgate Pools and Spas and will recommend them to as many people as we can.  Rodney, I just cannot say enough good stuff about this guy.  He is very professional and Eastgate should be thrilled and proud to have him on staff.  Thank you all at Eastgate for giving us a great experience!!!!

The contractor was running a little behind due to the amount of rain we had this season but he stayed in contact with us giving us a target date. He was within a few days of the anticipated target date. His employees were very professional, answering all questions and listening to suggestions from us to incorporate into the pond. They stayed until the job was finished, which took 3 days. I was very pleased to see that the job had been completed in only 3 days.
I would use them again, they built us a very beautiful pond and waterfall.

I have nothing but compliments for Green Tree.  Punctual, professional, and affordable.  He graded part of our back yard so that we could put in a swing set.  I have nothing but compliments!

estimate only - he was nice enough to say job was too big for him and didnt jerk me around like he could have for a couple of days with little progress. he is only 1 man shop with a small excavator, bobcat and a truck i guess. although i dont know why he chose the name "green team" - he either plans on hiring soon or considers his equipment as memebers of his team. nice guy though, I would definitely consider using him for smaller stuff.
