OMG! Because of this horrible corona I just had a video visit with Dr. Michael Schmerler ... It was my first time with him. In the past I had visits with nurse practitioner Amy and Dr. Smith… When I heard that I would have a new doctor… I was NOT happy. I am an old bird… I am a creature of habit and I don’t really like change. I loved Amy the NP... and my Dr Smith... BUT...Dr Schmerler was immediately engaging and warm! I was comfortable within seconds with him! I could ramble on and on but I’ll spare you… LOL at myself again… Give him a try. I am betting he is not only a wonderful doctor… I bet he is a wonderful person. And in my opinion... It is difficult to find both wonderful traits in the medical field, these days… I am sure you will adore him to.

Great results over the first year. Seems like the relief time gets shorter each time, but he respects that I won't take any pain killers besides Tylenol. He has taken the least invasive route each heading into a more complicated procedure next week, but I have 100% confidence in his abilities.

I have been going here for about 3 years now, and is wonderful. You can tell him all your problems, and he will help fix them. He has everything down to a fine science. They have a brand new office as well. Everyone calls back, and makes sure the prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy. He helps with stress, and anxiety disorders.

The doctor started Botox injections every three months for my migraines. I have had a 50% reduction in the number of migraines. The staff, Dr. Maureen Li and Stacy Darlington, CNP are all very caring, helpful and understanding.

I have been to a handful of psychiatrists in my adult life and, sadly, most of them had an intimidating God-like mentality. Many of them diagnosed me in minutes, handed me a script  and showed me the door. If I questioned them or their diagnosis I was reprimanded. After these experiences I concluded that psychiatrists were the real ones in need of treatment. Then, along came Dr.Gale. It was so refreshing to be treated by him. He takes all the time needed to diagnosis, talk to me, listen to me and empower to me to make the decisions that I feel are right for me. He welcomes questions and concerns. VERY empowering! I feel that when I am not doing well he is frustrated and upset for me and I feel that when I am doing well he is genuinely happy for me. I truly feel like he is on MY team. He's not in this profession for the money, he is in it first to help people. Dr. Gale always has a gentle nature about him and at the same time a true confidence in his diagnosis and treatment plan.  I have gone to him for years and am living a very happy life. When I met him, this was not the case at all. I am living a truly healthy life thanks to him. My only wish? My only wish is that ALL other psychiatrists acted like he does.

I normally go to see Dr. Wu to discuss how I am doing and how the medicine I am currently taking is working.

First I spoke with someone on the phone to discuss my concerns and schedule a visit. I was able to meet with the psychologist and the psychiatrist on the same day. (However, all of the psychiatrists are only part-time and it can be difficult to get in to see them. The psychologists are there regularly and it is easier to schedule a visit.) The waiting room is very and quot;zenand quot; -- ambient music, small waterfall thing, etc. It had magazines for both kids and adults, tea, books, and some toys for kids to play with. At the visit, they very clearly explained the process for evaluation and treatment, including costs for everything up front. The office does not take any insurance; it's all and quot;self-payand quot;, though they do provide forms that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. The psychologist (Lesley Kuras) had a PhD but was still completing her clinical supervision hours with one of the senior psychologists on staff (Chris Mayhall). She made me feel very comfortable. The psychiatrist seemed a bit rushed and aloof, and didn't look at any of the documentation I'd brought with me, though he had records from my old doctor as well that he may have seen before. My understanding is that the psychologists do most of the heavy lifting in this practice, and the psychiatrists are basically there to write prescriptions and to monitor medication and medical issues, but that they all communicate closely with each other.

    Michael Miller MD
He is heads and shoulders above other providers in the area in terms of responsiveness. He has not been sucked up into the great medical machine - he is a sole practitioner who seems to practice as he sees fit. He is always on time. He answers telephone calls (Wow)and he listens to his patients.
