ALexington Home Improvement CoAfter a few days of rain delays a great day came along. It took the crew 10 hours to completely remove the old shingles and tar paper then completely reroof the entire house using 72 sq. of underlayment and dimensional shingles. The crew also cleaned up and pulled magnets over the area picking up stray or dropped nails. They did an excellent job!! I highly recommend Ed and his crew. Ed was also the only roofer, out of 5 others, who called back and came out to give an estimate.- H M.

FD&D Home Repair and RemodelsIt's been a terrible experience so far. They started painting and I have pictures of how bad of a job they did. They don't have enough help and they started last Tuesday and have only been to my house 4 times and they never stay more than 4 hours or so. I would not recommend them to anyone. AThe front left corner of my house had some minor foundation settling that caused the basement wall foundation to crack. Patrick Lockhart quoted to dig the basement wall outside corner 8-10 ft down to add 2 foundation piers and anchored to bedrock. His crew, Nick (leader), Jose and Cesar arrived on time and quickly and expertly dug the 8' deep hole (including a tree stump that needed to be removed) and set in the two piers and tuck pointed up 2 stories of the brick wall where the crack gap had been. Prior to filling the hole, I requested a 4" drain tile be placed to aid me with a French drain I plan to add. Without batting an eye, Jose immediately agreed they would handle this task. Jose and Cesar made certain the yard was clean and ready for me to tackle my landscape stairs project. I was very impressed with the total job and would recommend them for your foundation pier project.

AI wanted about 100 feet of fencing put around the back of my house to serve as a dog run. I had contacted several local fencing companies but they either did not return my calls or were booked for a couple to many months. I lucked out that these guys were in-between jobs. Kyle came out quickly and gave me an estimate that was less than I was expecting and more than fair. He walked me through the pros and cons of different kinds of fencing and I settled on split-rail. I didn't want an expensive fence, but I wanted something a little nicer-looking than chain-link. He even gave me a small discount if I started the work sooner rather than later. They got started less than a week later on a Tuesday, and were only delayed by a few days when several rounds of thunder storms came through. Even with the rain they had the posts up and in concrete by Friday so they could set over the weekend. The fence was up by lunch on Monday. They returned Tuesday morning (due to a materials delay that was beyond their control) and finished the entire job by lunch on Tuesday. Kyle, his partner, and the 2 men that helped them on this job are good, local guys from southern Indiana. They were honest, tidy, pleasant, polite, and honestly, fun to talk to the few times I went out to shoot the breeze with them. I hope they make it in this business for their sake and the fact that I would hire them again if the need ever came up.

FTotally unprofessional. I regret using this company. Rod quoted the work, but the kid doing the job seemed to have never done it before. The chimney needed repair to the top 15 or so brick rows. I had to point out from the ground bricks that still looked (and were) loose after he was "finished". He failed to tuck point one whole side of the chimney. The chimney still leaked after they finished. I went up on the roof to inspect where water might be coming in. The poured concrete cap looked like a someone just spilled a whole bucket of concrete. It slopes toward the chimney vent and water pools on top. Completely useless. The work was "guaranteed" in word by Mr. Layman, but he has not kept his word. I have been calling about the continued leaking for two months and no one has come out. I also found a broken 6 ft extension pole in the gutter which they were too careless to remove after dropping it.

FHorrible. 7 months past projected completion time and still not completed. Had to hire another contractor to complete +$17,000+. MH paid in full except for $4,000 and wanted paid that prior to final county inspection. Didn't do work he said he did. sub-standard work, cheaper materials than was promised, wanted draws before due, only worked 20 hours a week instead of expected 40 hours a week. Has a different job he works during week when he was supposed to be working here. No sense of urgency at all. Looks to cut expenses & materials at our expense. Less than honest. WATCH OUT!!!
