We had to return a couple of times so that my son could try contact lenses for the first time. Most of the staff are very pleasant, however when I requested a cheaper contact lens for my son it became an issue to one particular member of staff. The contact lenses that were being prescribed for my son were more expensive than my own mono/trifocal contact lenses. I realized the annual cost  was much higher and I asked if there was another equivalent brand that we could try. These lenses were two weekly lenses and I was told by the office that there was no option for a monthly lens. I am a single mother and the cost is something that I have to consider, as do most customers.
After visiting the office (just to confirm) once last time that there was not a more economical lens) and being told that I was obviously "only trying to purchase something that was unhealthy for my son" I was highly offended. As a mother of son who has Aspergers I strive to do the best for him. The comment was highly unprofessional and uneducated. I was shocked. I knew that I had to pay again for another contact lens evaluation as once the prescription is written I knew that I could not obtain a different contact lens elsewhere. My son had also mentioned that the trial lenses that he had would blur when he was looking long distance in the class room after he started school, but I really did not see the point in trying to go back.
I did pay out of pocket  again for another evaluation, we did have choices, and we did find a more economical monthly lens. There was also an FDA approved monthly lens that was the exact brand that this office was pushing on us. This contact lens was more expensive so we opted for one that is just fine for my son.
As mentioned most of the staff are extremely polite, excellent selection of frames, but I cancelled my appointment and we will not be going back.

All Went well. I am not sure they are inexpensive. They have a very nice office, which might mean that they cost more than a doctor with a plain office. However they were very nice and  I had a pleasant experience.

When I called for the appt they were friendly and obliging and did check for me that they were participating in my insurance coverage. I had decided on Dr. Ross as I read the reviews on Angies list and one reviewer mentioned Dr. Ross charged the least. I am on a limited income and so that was a priority for me. I had to wait a while to be seen but that was not an issue with me. Perhaps if I was working and had to get back it would have been, however when I was seen into the room I waited a while as the doc stood in front of my door chatting with the former patient about personal matter. When he did come in he went right to work. He was polite and I felt he was competent in what he did. He said very little and worked quickly and I was out in no time. He took me to the room with the frames and I said I wanted the least expensive pair and so he said someone would help me and he left. He didn't seem much interested in me at all as a patient. I didn't mind much as it seemed this office took care of many local people and it seemed that they knew many patients personally that came in and chatted with them about ball games, kids at school etc. and different patients knew one another and so I was left waiting for someone to come help me when they got done chatting. The lady that helped me was very nice and took her time with me and helped me to pick a pair of frames. I paid my bill and they said the glasses would be ready in a week. They were ready earlier and I went to get them. When I went to the receptionist desk they just handed me the glasses to put on. I was taken back at first as usually when you get a pair of glasses they take you to a room and you sit down and there is a mirror and you try them on and the doc or their assistant adjusts them for you and makes sure it fits and you are satisfied. Here they handed them to me, the receptionist adjusted them for me when I said they were too loose and that was it while the other receptionist chatted with her and other patients. I felt very uncomfortable trying on my glasses standing in front of the receptionists desk in the waiting room with other people watching me. I guess you get what you pay for. I had to return to the office 2 more times to try to get the glasses to fit. On the third try they put me in the room with the frames and said the doc would help me with them. He came and stood by the receptionists window and chatted for quite a while while I waited for him. When he came he did take his time and tried to adjust my glasses. They still do not fit exactly right but they are much better than what they were but I won't make the half hour trip to try again. If you are on a tight budget and need glasses and don't mind waiting, then this will fit your needs. However, if you would need more personal attention and prompt appointments this is not the place for you. I would go back to Dr. Ross as I received correct prescription glasses and feel his charges were better than most others and now that I know how they and quot;fitand quot; your glasses I will be prepared for that. However, if there was someone closer offering the same lower prices I would probably go there. I would say the main reason I would go to Dr. Ross is the lower price since I am on a limited budget but if I could go somewhere closer I would. If you are a local though you would enjoy the friendliness and conversation at Dr. Ross's. If you are not a local then don't expect it.

He is excellent.  I don’t see him often but I like the friendliness of the staff and the timeliness of the appointments.  I also like their thoroughness and the choice of eye wear.  They are all excellent.  They’ve been extremely good.

I hate Doctor's Valu Vision. It is one of those walk-in clinics and I hate the staff but I love this eye doctor. They are known to be a walk-in clinic but you have to make appointments. The place itself is horrible but the eye doctor is wonderful. He is very caring and very competent, and he goes the extra mile. I have told him that I am going to get him a new office if I ever won the lottery. The place is bringing him down. He was willing to come to my home for my handicapped father-in-law.
