It went extremely well. The technician was very knowledgeable and showed me some major things that were done wrong on the installation of our unit by another company. He has scheduled a future appointment to correct the problems that I have.

    Allen's Air Conditioning Inc
Today, November 19th, we had the new repairman into replace the exchanger (he found one in Louisville) but inspected it himself first. He showed my husband on a newer/color that the exchanger did not have cracks; just seams. Final diagnoses was a dirty sensor, cleaned it with steel wool and running normally again. Last note- We still have another 8 years with our heat exchanger under warranty, Allen's never once even mentioned that it still should be under warranty. I would not recommend Allen's to friends or family. I am not sure if they are incompetent or just dishonest.

air conditioning would run sometimes and then quit, or fail to turn on at all. We had it looked at for the same problem the previous summer, company said they fixed it however the problem continued. The unit eventually would not turn on at all. Called the company and they were very promopt in their response. Checked the unit tand found the problem, however they did not have the proper part with them. This was on a Friday. Fixed the problem temporarily and returned over the wekend to install the correct part. When they returned my husband and son were in the process of cutting down a large tree next to the house, they saw them begin to run into some trouble and rushed right over to help complete the job. Never even charged for tree removal services!! All in all, they were very professional, informative and friendly, definatly went above and beyond.

They fixed the furnace free of charge. They did not even charge me for the service call. I have used them several times before. I would refer them to others because they are very dependable. They come out within a reasonable amount of time. I had called them on a Friday night and they had come out on a Saturday morning. They had come out and fixed the furnace. They have been very dependable every time I have called them. They would get in touch with me. If it is an emergency, they would come right away. I am very pleased with them. Their prices have been very reasonable compared to what I would expect from a furnace/ heating company. I have been satisfied with the quality of their work. I have not had any problems with their work. They normally call me back and let me know when they are on their way. They are very professional. I would use them again if required.

    AFFORDABLE HEATING & COOLING
    1.  Barry did not check for refrigerant during the Annual Maintenance and Inspection because he claimed that he could not check it because the heat pump was not in operation because of bad defrost board.  Barry's own technician determined without even opening the unit the refrigerant that Barry had replaced had leaked out shown by the oily residue in the bottom of the unit.  The person who originally installed the heat pump stated that the defrost control board cannot be diagnosed unless there is at least a small amount of refrigerant in the unit because there is not enough voltage going into the unit to determine if it is good or bad.
    2.  Barry's price for the annual maintenance and inspection was higher than ten heating and cooling businesses that I checked with.  The prices varied from $95 for one trip to $125-$140-$170-$175 for two checks per year.
    3.  Barry charged for 11 1/2 pounds of refrigerant without checking for a leak first.  Therefore, the refrigerant leaked out within two days or so.
    4.  Also, the unit holds only 150 ounces (9.375 pounds).  Barry charged for 2.125 pounds more pounds than the capacity of this heat pump.
    5.  Although Barry "cleaned evaporator coil/cleaned condenser coil", he did detect a leak.
    5. Barry stated that he could not repair the coils.  Two other businesses quoted a price of $295/$300 to repair the coils.
    6.  Barry wanted $1645 for replacing the coils.  Another company offered to do the job for $800.

I sent a certified letter summarizing my complaints and suggesting that we resolve the issue between us.  Barry refused the letter.
