Car Inspection reviews in Wichita

I cant believe I'm just now thinking to review this company! We have been taking our cars here for over two years now. They are so nice and amazing to work with. We once took our SUV to them and asked them to give us a list of everything they could see as a possible problem over next 5 years(we were debating a new car vs investing in one we had). They gave us a full list and even told my husband about some repairs he cld do himself cheap. I love that I can trust them to tell us the truth and not just try to get money out of us. We couldnt imagine going anywhere else. This company as earn our loyalty!

I was amazed at the level of detail they went to in inspecting a vehicle I was helping purchase for an out of state relative.
I have also used them to install tires and do alignments for tires bought from Tire Rack. Same high level of service.

More than a decade before I moved to Wichita, I lived  in cities where car ownership was impractical. So when I moved here a couple of years ago, I was unfamiliar with what was required to own and regularly use a car. I purchased the most modern car I've ever owned (2009 Nissan) and drove it for months without any issues. Then, one day, the check engine light came on. Since it wasn't the "refill windshield wiper fluid" or "clean gum wrappers out of center console" lights, I knew any repairs would be beyond my competency and that I needed help. I found positive reviews of Astro Tune-Up Center online and asked them to check into what I feared would be an expensive problem.
Funny thing about these modern cars. They can tell you much more than they used to in the mid 90's. So what I understood to be the "check engine light" was actually the "tire pressure is a little low" light. Yep, I took my car into the shop because I should have stopped by Quick Trip and put some air in the tires.
Rather than question my practical intelligence or testosterone levels, Colin at Astro Tune Up very professionally told me what the issue was, showed me how to identify the various indicator lights and actually filled up the tires with air and verified that the indicator light was off. He refused payment, even though he and another coworker had spent time on this issue (and probably had to stop themselves from snickering when I came in).
I've been back to Astro Tune Up Center several times, for some issues they could handle and others they couldn't, but I have found them to be unfailingly honest and very friendly. For instance, I had an issue with my tires which they didn't have the tools to fix. Instead, they told me their opinion on what was wrong and referred me to another shop that had the proper tools. Again, they refused payment for the time they spent looking at my car. When I came in with an actual issue they could fix, they were quick, very reasonably priced and the problem has not resurfaced after nearly two years.
I'd bet that most people say the main quality they most want in a mechanic is honesty. I'm sure there are other honest mechanics in Wichita, but I wouldn't send anyone anywhere other than Astro Tune Up Center.

Scholfield Honda didn't want to give me a trade in on my 09 Honda and I sold it for much higher than what they wanted to give me on the trade in. They lost a good customer by telling me they couldn't give me much for my Honda and considering I had just put in USD 2000 in it, the car just had hail damage but it was working well mechanically. Their customer service was not good. I paid for the services, so I got good service but they didn't want to work with me when I wanted to trade in my Honda.

I took my 1995 Ram truck in for check-up. I was impressed by the thoroughness of this dealership's work. They got me in for service quickly and and also performed the necessary work quickly. The entire process only took abut 1.5 hours. I am very happy with all of the work performed at this dealership.

I took our car to Nail's because they had been recommend by a friend I worked with and stated they did really good work for the price.  My car had some things that I knew needed some work because it was deteriorating but it was older and and we still had a few payments to make on it.  We took to Nail's to get an estimate on the cost.  Not only did he inspect what we knew was wrong he also did an inspection of the entire car and found that there were some other problems that would need to be fixed.  He estimated the immediate cost to make it run safely and then what we would have to do in about another year if the stuff didn't fail before then.  I asked him about selling it or fixing it and even though he lost business he stated that money wise it would cost more to fix it and pay off then what it would be worth in the future so he recommended selling it if we could get a good price.
