Window Replacement reviews in Topeka

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • If I could give this review zero stars I would. On PDQ’s website they have a quote, “the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.“ They put this on their website because their prices are not cheap so they are trying to sell people on the high quality of work that they do. However, in my experience with PDQ, the price was high and the quality was still extremely poor. The owner, Mike, was very personable and likable during the estimate and walk through process. Once he had our business, that all changed. First of all, he promised us several times that once his crew started our job he would not send them to a different job until ours was 100% completed. We were told the project would take about 3 months to complete. It took PDQ 9 full months to complete our job and, on multiple occasions, he sent the entire crew to other jobs so nothing got done on our house for a day (or days) at a time. (Actually, there were several things that didn’t end up getting completed until 5 months after Mike pulled his crew…a full 12 months after they were hired). 7 months in, he came in and did a walk-through with his crew and, before leaving, told them that they had two days to finish the job and then he was sending them on to the next job. The crew had more than two days worth of work left to do so they rushed through as much as they could and still didn’t get everything completed. They had to come back multiple times over the next two months to clean up, touch up, and complete work that was sloppily rushed through or incomplete. In the end, we ended up hiring a professional cleaner to come in and clean the entire house because of the mess they had made and we had to trash several pieces of furniture because they had been destroyed (see pictures). And during this whole process, Mike was very unpleasant to deal with and demanded payment in full, even though the job was not completed. Once the job is done, we noticed the final invoice had been altered from the signed contract with a pencil (Mike had gone back and written in several things after we had all signed). In the end, my spouse just wanted to be done with him so we ended up paying for additional items that were not done to our home (several thousands of dollars). I thought about writing a review at that time but really just wanted to be done and move on. However, we are now less than a year since the “completion“ of our project and have had multiple issues with their work. The floor that was installed in the basement has major damage and issues caused by the poor installation. We contacted a flooring company that sells the brand and had one of the brand installers come to our house who verified that the problem was with the installation, not the product. We have also had a door and a window leak extremely bad when it rains. I have sent pictures and videos to Mike at PDQ to let him know about the problems. I have called, texted, and walked in his office on multiple occasions over the last three months and still have not been able to get him to send a crew to fix the problems. In fact, other than one text message to acknowledge that he was receiving my texts, he won’t even respond or return a phone call. My next step is to contact a lawyer and get the legal system involved. Do NOT be fooled by the show put on by Mike prior to signing a contract. This owner does NOT care about you, your satisfaction, or the quality of his work. He just wants to get paid. Not all pictures and videos from our issues are attached, however, all attached have been provided to Mike on multiple occasions.

  • Very well. The team that did the work for us did an outstanding job and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. They were easy to work with and the professional work was even better than we expected. High quality work for a very reasonable price. They also kept their work area reasonably clean each night they left. We would highly recommend them.

  • When we decided to replace windows in our house, we chose Castlewood Construction to do the installation, because we had used them for our kitchen remodel and were highly pleased and satisfied with their work.  They came through again with the window installation -- they provided a schedule/time-line for the delivery and installation of the windows and were on-target with the project.  Their finished work was beautifully done -- old windows removed, new windows installed, new outside framing installed and painted, new inside woodwork/trim installed and finished with stain and varnish.  They cleaned up each day after their work -- a huge plus given the amount of dust and mess.  The workmen were personable, friendly, and accommodating of our schedules.

  • The Benchmark crew was fantastic. We wanted to help with construction to save money, they worked with us. We needed to cut expenses, they worked with us. We need changes, they worked with us. A great experience.

  • Excellent. Showed on time & on schedule except when rain stopped exterior work. Returned as soon as weather allowed. Punch sheet with mike went smoothly. Small errors or problems found after the the job were completed quickly. 3 projects over the years and I think they were $2,000 $2,400 $1,500 2 more waiting for my funds to come around are $!,500 & $4,500

  • Benchmark was a real joy to work with. From start to finish they were very good and they do quality work. Friendly staff and Cathy is a real pleasure to do business with. I will be hiring them again in the very near future.

  • Very well. The roof is extremely steep with towers and multiple angles. They did an excellent job both installing and cleaning up. The new gutters work very well as the old ones were not working well.

  • We replaced 2 double hung windows with a bay window. The installers did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves, too. We were also pleased with Dave, the sales rep. He knows the product, and was able to answer all our questions. We will use Champion to replace other windows in our home.

  • We as customers will not use renewal by Andersen not only because of the overpriced products but also because their sales rep told me that if I canceled my order he would look bad and points would be taken off from him. If he had said I understand and would love to help you in the future this review would have gone completely different. I let our representative know that the stress that it was causing to spend the money now was more important then the sale. As a person with ALS I do not need someone telling me how bad they look because I am canceling in order.

  • They did not do a good job as they incorrectly measured everything.  They also were very unprofessional and unreliable as they did not show up when they said they would or at all sometimes.  They were also unprepared for the job as they did not have any tools and had to use mine.
