    We have been going to Dr. Broeckelman since my son was born and he has been amazing. I highly recommend him. We've had to go in for sick visits several times and are always able to get right in. They have daily walk-in hours and I'm always able to get a hold of his nurse if needed. Great bedside manner and really great with kids. I'm so glad we found him!

    This is a bittersweet review ? it doesn?t end so well. Dr. Nagy has honestly been one of the biggest blessings and best doctors we have ever encountered. She made my daughter feel very comfortable about some uncomfortable things. Our visits were spaced far enough apart that I?d often forget how much we liked her ? both as a doctor and a person ? then my daughter would have an appointment and we?d leave gushing to all friends and family that ?she?s the best ever.? 

    We have been going to her since she worked at Child Care Limited, then followed her to her own practice, Leawood Pediatrics, in March 2012. My records only go back eight years, but I know it?s been slightly longer than that. 

    Upon moving to her own practice, she chose the best possible partners (we love all of the doctors there), but made some terrible missteps with office management ? which I believe was handled by employees the physicians hired. Along this bumpy road, there were several hiccups and things that were far more challenging, all administratively, than we had experienced at our worst providers. The office managers seemed nice enough, but they always had someone to blame ? a new system, someone who just left, etc. 

    For example, in Aug 2012, we were billed $255.27. But, our insurance EOB said we only owed $105.27. I spoke with someone named Laura multiple times and she couldn?t get the bill right, so I finally just paid her $105.27 a few weeks later and told her I was done with it. Then, in Feb 2013, they billed me for an EXTRA office visit. Who does that? I spoke with Michelle that time and she said it was an accident. A mistake. Just don?t pay it. In Oct 2014, I finally received a bill from lab services completed in April of that year. It took them SIX months to bill me. Unfortunately, the weirdest one of all (which I think happened sometime during 2014), I cannot find in my records for a specific date/contact. I received an email notification that I was late for a bill that I paid almost an entire year earlier. Upon calling the office, they agreed that I paid it and fixed the error.

    I know. I never ended up paying too much because I caught all of the errors. But, you?ll see why this matters: 

    As of May of 2015 (just days before an annual appointment), we received notice that they had implemented a new payment policy of either (a) requiring direct access to our payment method (which is a bank account) or (b) a deposit of $200 payable to Leawood Pediatrics. (Like an escrow account, but not for your mortgage ? just for ear infections and the stomach flu. Sound a bit much? Do they have that many people not paying their bills?) Despite years of prompt and accurate payments on my part (never late), and fending off incorrect amounts on their part, they were requesting direct access to my bank account? Um, sorry. No. 

    I tried calling Dr. Nagy twice to discuss this. Her new office manager either wouldn?t forward my messages to her, or Dr. Nagy didn?t deem my input important, because I?ve been waiting two months (yes, months) for a return call, and haven?t heard a word. We also cancelled a scheduled appointment at the same time, so they are clear we?ve picked a new doctor (another whom we love, so don?t fear ? there are many great pediatricians out there if you also find this policy distasteful). The office manager also did not forward our daughter?s records to the new doctor despite our new doctor's request. I find that particularly unprofessional.

    As of today?s date, July 15, 2015, you can read this policy in full on their website. ?If the balance is less than $100 your card will be charged automatically.? You only get a courtesy call if it?s greater than $100. Oh, and if you fail to notify them of any insurance changes within 30 days of your visit and this mishap causes an initial denial of your claim, be prepared for all charges to become your responsibility ? which they now have authority to take directly from your account. Like, right now. Then, even better, according to the ?Highlights of Important 2014 Financial Changes? page on their website, ?If after insurance has processed and your account acquires a credit of $50 or more and no outstanding services are pending, a refund will be made back to the card originally used.? So, apparently if they make an insurance error of $49 or less, they have the right to keep the money and not refund it ? whether that be a pending credit for months/years or not returned at all. Who knows? That part isn?t explained. 

    As much as we love Dr. Nagy, her office is not getting a direct line to my bank account. Especially with their track record of billing me incorrectly. No thanks. This was our personal experience, and we don?t plan to go back to Leawood Pediatrics.

    We've been using them for about 18 years. They're very pleasant. They're organized and on time. They're professional and dependable. The staff are all polite and give you answers to your questions. They help you figure out what you need to do, if you have paperwork that needs to be filled out. They get you in as quick as possible. They get you on a cancellation list, if you need a sooner appointment.

    It is easy to get in quickly.  It is easy to get an appointment.  They spend a lot of time with you.  The place is very comfortable for kids to be.  We have gone there for three years and we are very happy.

    It went very well. The nurse first came in and took the height and weight of our two kids. Later on, the doctor came in on time and inquired how everything was going. He plotted the height and weight of our kids on the graph and told us how they were growing and what were the problem areas, if any. He was very courteous and kind and explained everything in concise and easy manner. We are very happy with our pediatrician.

    Dr. Nagy has made our children feel at ease during her very thorough checkups. I really appreciate that she engages the kids with questions rather than talking to the parents like the kid isn't even in the room.

    I would recommend them.They're pretty easy to get into and I think the quality of the healthcare and doctors is good. We've been visiting them for the last 15 years. I think the first thing that really drew us to them is that they have a christian philosophy, kind of a christian basis and that's what stands out to us. They have urgent care in the evenings and weekends.

    My children see Dr. Marion Pierson at Village Pediatrics in Prairie Village, we have also seen some of the other doctors and purse practitioners in the walk-in clinic, all of them are great. We love that Village Pediatrics provides a clean, comfortable, and fun kids' atmosphere for children. The nurses and doctors are all very professional, patient, kind, and have excellent bedside manner. They have a well-patient room and a separate sick room with a walk-in clinic, as well as hours on Saturday, and late hours a few times a week. I've never had any trouble scheduling same day appointments, if our doctor isn't available they can always fit us in with someone else.
    I highly recommend Dr. Pierson and Village Pediatrics.

    We just moved from Pediatrics to GP since my boys have aged out but I want to review this group since we were with them so long. I switched pediatricians twice before I found Dr Shloegel. He is so easy with kids, just a calm and kind man. My boys both liked him. We didn't have major illnesses while here but the day to day stuff was all handled usually same day.

    Dr Hamm is an excellent pediatrician. She is caring, knowledgeable and professional. She listens to parents and does not rush you thru appointment. Her young patients are top priority and she relates well with them. Leawood Pediatrics and Dr Hamm are excellent choice for pediatric care.
