Hossein and his crew did an OUTSTANDING job remodeling our entire house. Work included all new custom cabinets, remodels of 4 bathrooms, all new hardwood floors, painting of the whole interior of the house, all new windows, opening up load bearing walls, and bringing life to a house in need of some love. He worked great with our designer and also brought along tons of his own great design ideas. All work was permitted and passed demanding Leawood inspections no problem. We will of course hire Hossein again.

Andrew was fantastic!! His workmanship is far superior to any other carpenter I have hired. His attention to detail, expertise in his field is nice to see. His quote came to me in a timely manner..good, fair price for his work. He was prompt upon his arrival to complete the work, and everything was clean, and beautiful when he was finished. Highly recommend!

Where other contractors wanted to remove the step and replace Darrell offered a less expensive option by filling in the concrete that was crumbling and capping the step looks like new!. In addition he and his helper removed a wooden porch I had over the deteriorated step before the repair started. While the concrete was curing he came by every day to make sure the concrete was setting up properly. In addition I was impressed he even called me on the weekend to set up my initial bid. He was honest and up front on all our dealings .

In a word - OUTSTANDING! Christopher Wilson and his entire crew did a terrific job painting the exterior of our home and staining our decks. We also had a significant amount of wood rot that need to be repaired. The carpentry and craftsmanship was top-notch as they mitigated the wood rot. The entire crew worked hard, were responsive and kept a clean job site. I would hire Christopher Wilson and his company again without reservation.

I contacted Mike at Harco to discuss my goal of replacing the high maintenance all-wood mostly cedar deck that was regularly needing cleaning, resealing and replacement of rotting wood with something that would be low maintenance and have less wood susceptible to wood. He suggested some composite material for the decking, and steps. I looked at these materials at a store and decided on a color. Besides the decking and steps, a thin sheet of the same composite material was used to overlay some boards on the side of the deck. The decking is attached with hidden clips, which looks better than screws or nails. I chose handrails made of steel with a drink rail of the same composite material. The posts are cedar and the structural joist are pressure treated.lumbar. The construction went very well. It was constructed during the winter months so bad weather was a factor. Mike gave me advanced notice when the weather was expected to be too cold to work. The workers were professional and considerate of my property. They gave me daily updates on the progress of their work. They cleaned up the yard and driveway daily and took care not to disturb the landscaping more than was absolutely needed. Overall, the work took about a week and a half. My wife and I are very pleased with our new deck. I previously had a fence installed by Harco and both experiences have been great from first contacting them for an estimate to completion of the project.

The job ended up being a lot more than originally thought. Once they took off the outer wood they found it was a lot more extensive (but they told me that might happen at the start). It was also delayed a couple of times because of rain. None of that was their fault. The owner called and visited a couple of times because of the delays and the cost change. She was very professional, and again none of that was their fault. Carlos was the lead carpenter, and he did a great job. Not only does it look really good, but they used materials and construction techniques to prevent reoccurrence. I think you can better judge people by how they respond when things dont go smoothly, and they were great. I will use them again (unfortunately my house is over 90 years old).

We needed our balcony replaced on the front of our house so it was important that a good job be done. These guys did a great job, it looks terrific. They showed up when they said they would and did everything including arranging the final painting with a painter they knew. I am sure it was a small job for them but they treated it like it was top priority. We would definitely use them again.

Darrell Walker did an excellent job tuckpointing and resurfacing our stone/concrete porches. He was consistently prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. Darrell stands by his work, and can be counted on to get the job done correctly. I highly recommend Walker Concrete.

Well.... I started out by asking if he billed by the job, or by the hour. I think that's when he asked where I lived, Prairie Village, which is very close. He then asked what I needed done. I said I had a lot of things. I asked if he did any plumbing work, because he lists it as a service he provides in his ad, to which he responded yes. I told him that I had been told by my plumbing company, that when I had my addition done, my plumbing had been installed incorrectly, and that it was going to continue to back up. The only solution, was to install a commercial flush toilet, which I needed done, but I wanted his opinion on it, and see what he thought it might cost in the future, when my finances weren't as tight.(ie, if I hired him, liked his work, and this was something he could do, I would use him in the future) It was then that I mentioned that I was on disability. I then told him about a leak under my front porch and asked if he could look at that to see if he could seal it. I had not mentioned any of the other projects yet I don't think, because these were the most important.I told him that before I hurt myself, in Aug 2015, I had planned a large front porch addition that would address this issue, "back when money was no issue" I believe are the words I used. I said I was looking for a short term solution for the meantime. I told him once I got back to work, at the beginning of the year, I could look at the big plumbing project. That's when he said, "I don't think I can be of service to you, but I thank you for your call." I was a little taken aback, because we hadn't even discussed any of the other projects, or made an appt to even come look at any of them, and he hadn't told me how he charged for his work. I went ahead and told him I needed a Rubbermaid shed assembled, and some dry rot replaced around windows, and was in the middle of trying to mention the shingles on my roof when he rudely cut me off and said " I don't think I can be of service to you, but I thank you for your time." I said " No, you just don't think I have enough money for you." (I admit, I did say a curse word, but I'm not sure if I'd hung up yet or not) I never even got to tell him I had a budget to work with, which is actually quite sizeable, and really, none of his business, until after we had at least talked more about other projects, which were ALL on his list of services offered, or had a consultation. He made an assumption, as soon as he heard the word "disability" that I had no money, and didn't even give me a chance to finish my sentence, let alone my conversation. How sad Mr Nunn. Shame on you sir.

We could not have been happier with the work performed by JB Construction. Joe was always practical, knowledgeable and prompt in his communication via email, phone and in person. His carpentry crew always started exactly on time each morning, and they did excellent work. Joe is licensed and insured in Johnson County, and he handled all inspections seamlessly. We were very satisfied with his roofing and painting subcontractors as well. Overall, we were most impressed by Joe's efficiency in both the planning and construction phase. He very successfully completed a decent-sized project in a short timeline without compromising quality of work and while maintaining fair pricing. We can highly recommend JB Construction.
