    Though we didn't end up selecting Johnson County Windows & Siding, I was very impressed with how Justin Christie worked with us as we scoped our project and evaluated companies. Justin was very thorough in his approach, communicated well, was punctual, and pointed out lots of small details that we likely wouldn't have thought of on our own. For the specific goals of our project, they weren't the best fit, but I can clearly see how they fit a lot of other siding projects and was very impressed with Justin's consultative approach, punctuality, insight, and customer service. If you're considering getting new siding, you should consider them.

    My review is based on both the extensive work completed and the as-of-yet unattended to correction that has been promised. I plan on editing this review if/when the mistakes are corrected. I contacted Ben, the owner, about fixing my kitchen. A dishwasher had leaked for several years causing extensive mold damage. The damage was so bad that it had ruined the siding on the outside of the house behind the dishwasher. The tiled floor had been raised for a heated floor by a previous owner which caused removal of the dishwasher to be a process of cutting the actual appliance out, since there was no room under the granite countertops to remove by sliding out. Originally, Ben gave a reasonable estimate on the work of removing the dishwasher and fixing the damage both inside the kitchen and on the outside of the house (after a mold remediation by a different company). Upon the successful removal of the dishwasher, which Ben did personally, the amount of damage brought about the realization of a much more extensive job necessary. He readjusted the estimate, totally fair. It was ugly damage. The new plan called for the granite counters to be raised up and suspended in order to remove an entire cabinet that would need to be remediated and/or replaced. The shape of the kitchen and workspace did not allow for this to happen. Instead Ben and his assistant completely removed the counter and moved it out of the kitchen. This process took a full day as they took pains to ensure the safety of the granite. I was impressed with his meticulous attention to detail in the removal. The mold guy (which I will also review) came in and, over an afternoon, successfully removed the mold. The cabinet was so damaged that it would need to be completely replaced, except for the facing which would allow for it to remain matching the rest of the kitchen. Ben spent another half day building a cabinet to the exact specifications of the previous one. It was reinstalled. The siding was repaired as well, and while not perfect, it was sufficient enough for me to still be ok with it. The granite countertop was brought in to re-set on the new cabinet. To be clear, this segment of the counters was a corner angle as well as a sink-surrounding piece. As Ben and his coworker were setting it in place it broke. It didn't just fracture, but it had a break all the way through, on the front and back side of the sink cutout. Ben was honest and clear about the break and said that he would make it right. He gave me options on the fix. I decided to have him fix it temporarily and see how it looked. He got it reinstalled. He also reinstalled the garbage disposal and sink. The sink had some sealant issues that Ben had to fix several times. He also tried to restore the joint between the granite slabs, but the gap was bigger and much more easily seen, as well as chipped. The crack was also filled and evened out. A few of the tiles on the backsplash were damaged as well, something that couldn't be immediately fixed. So the job was nearly complete if I was satisfied. The problem was that the crack was pretty obvious, and when I go to sell my house in the future, a buyer would definitely notice the flaws on the counter and the backsplash. I told Ben this would need to have that corrected. He offered to pay for an entire new countertop, because he admitted the fault was his, and very professionally looked to keep the integrity of his own company clean, since he is a small business. He agreed to contact another contractor to install a new granite countertop because it wouldn't be able to matched in just one portion. He also stated that the tile backsplash would be fixed. I appreciated his honesty and paid the man in full, with the idea that he would cover the costs of the future new counter and backsplash. I understood that it would take a few weeks for him to build up some capital to be able to afford the cost of the replacement and labor. So it has been 3 months now. Ben contacted me about 3 weeks after the job was finished to briefly update me on his search for a replacement counter. Since then however, no company has called me about the new counters. Ben is a small business owner and I know he has a bottom line to maintain to stay in business. He is very knowledgable and personable. It was a mistake/accident that happened after great care was taken to avoid it. But it is still a cracked countertop I have with no solution now being discussed. I hope that this will get fixed and that I will be able to edit this review to reflect that portion of the job. In the meantime I will recommend his work with a giant asterisk, that he hasn't followed through on his guarantee of costumer satisfaction. I have many other projects to work around my house on so I am also hopeful to rehire "B and W" for some of those jobs, but until the counter/backsplash issue is remedied I will begin to look elsewhere. I will also attempt to change the question "Would you hire again" from "No" to "Yes" if the countertop gets replaced successfully.

    Andrew S was our project manager and was fantastic. Communicated very well and was very attentive to our expectations. He made confident recommendations on paint finishes, so we didn't have to second guess ourselves. Andrew's crew was very professional and they kept their work area very clean. Work quality was excellent as well. We performed several walkdowns during and after to make sure that the work was to our satisfaction. His crew did not hesitate to clean up any overspray or splatter, which we appreciated. He sent us photos from his crew during the daytime, as requested, to give us progress reports and also identified problem areas to consider. But, there was one thing that Andrew did that will make us returning customers: Aside from keeping the work inside of the house sealed and taped up from getting dust everywhere, it was his care and attention to details. My wife was 4-months pregnant at the time and we have a 2-year-old. We had just briefly mentioned the pregnancy to him at the beginning of the bid walkdown, and didn't say anything about it the rest of the time. Without missing a beat, he let us know after completion of the interior drywall that he had directed his guys to use a water based primer to prevent any hazardous fumes from lingering in the house due us expecting. It may not be a big deal or perhaps commonplace to use water-based primer, but we appreciated the consideration and his effort to put our safety first. Note that our house was previously a putrid seafoam green. We have had many neighbors stop by since to compliment the beautiful work and thank us for the new color in the neighborhood. Many have also asked about who we used, and we've happily recommended Brogan.

    I'm generally pretty worried about hiring painters out due to past experiences, but Tom and his team at Stack Painting completely changed that for me. Their speed and quality of work blew me away. They found issues that the previous home owner tried to cover up, which led to more cost than the original quote but they communicated with us the entire time. I was never "surprised" by anything. I'm so happy with the finished project. This was a massive job and they got it done quicker than I could have ever imagined. Do yourself a favor and hire them for your next job, regardless of what it is. You won't be disappointed.

    This is the third time we have utilized Bill Christie (and now, his son Justin's) services for improvements to our home. In each of these activities (spanning over twenty-five years) we have found the Christies and their employees to be outstanding. Unlike other companies, they base their successful business model on the following: 1. They provide prompt and accurate estimates of materials needed, time-frame for beginning and completion, and costs entailed. 2. They arrange for delivery of materials, supplies and dumpsters (as required) shortly before the starting date. 3. Their crews are polite, competent, and patient in their interactions with the homeowner. Rosie and his men were meticulous in their removal and replacement with Hardie board. They took pride in making the improvements as carefully as they would on their own homes. 4. Jose and his painters had the same work ethic. We had a rain day, he made certain all was protected before leaving and was back on the job as soon as conditions permitted the next day. 5. All of the crews were careful when working and tidied up the jobsite before leaving each day. 6. Justin did an excellent job communicating and dropping by each day to check in with us, see and bring any needed materials, and visit with his crews to positively comment on their work and let them know how pleased we are. 7. When the job was finished, as scheduled, Justin came by to do a final check and allow us the opportunity to ask any questions and/or express any concerns before going over the warranty information and receiving payment. 8. Johnson County Siding and Window Co Inc. takes pride in doing the job right by using the best materials and taking personal interest in achieving customer satisfaction.

    I hired Midtown to replace and repair front porch soffit and to remove railings. The job required repair and replace any damage from wood rot and repair siding. I must say that Midtown was Not the cheapest bid. The contract and deposit was started on July 6 and the job completed on Aug 9. Midtown estimated it would take 4-6 weeks. which was exact. I am very happy with the work and outcome of the project. I became impatient with all the measuring and the several trips out to verify siding color matching and etc. But, I have to say, it all worked out well. The soffit and siding all matched. I had to initiate a few phone calls to find out what and when, but they replied promptly each time. Thanks for a job well done. So far, I feel that the extra spent was worth it in quality and warranty.

    Excellent. Wood Rot Pro came out right after we called them to provide an estimate and some recommendations on the work we needed done. The crew was polite and professional, and they were very efficient, and VERY clean. Every day when they finished, they would put all of their ladders and such together in one place in the yard, away from the house, and they'd pick up loose nails with a magnet, leaving the area safe for our kids to play. We're extremely happy with the final result. We have several new windows, the house is a new color, and the siding is all new. It was a lot of money overall, but for the amount of work we had done, we feel like we got a good deal, and it was about what we were expecting to pay. This is the fourth time we've used Wood Rot Pro, and it won't be the last. The follow through on their promises, provide itemized receipts for all materials costs, and are transparent about everything. They really know their stuff, which is really helpful when trying to decide what work to do now and what can be safely put off until later. We highly recommend using them.
