Dog Grooming reviews in Overland Park

I've had my dog groomed here before with no problems. When I dropped him off this last time I was asked how I wanted him cut. I said the same as last time. My dog is a Bichon and usually they are groomed with a fuller face and lean body. Well, they practically shaved him down! I was not happy when I picked him up, but the staff didn't care and wouldn't do anything about it. Also, like another reviewer said, they insisted he be vaccinated for canine influenza. When I asked how many cases of dog flu have occurred in Kansas, she couldn't answer me. I felt it was an unnecessary expense. I won't be taking my dog here for grooming again.

I would never suggest this place to anyone. You need to stay FAR AWAY!! Every time that we come into this place we never leave for less than $100. Last time we went in just for a haircut for the dog and they said we must have a flu shot for the her before they would even do anything. They also said it was a 2 part shot so we assumed that the first payment would have included the follow up. Oh NO. Today we went back for just the shot and it was another $108. They pressured our son into doing other work on the dog that wasn't truly needed. We are done with them and will be making sure everyone we know never comes back here.

    CAMELOT COURT ANIMAL CLINIC
It was about the same time as the surgery for cyst removal. Most dogs don't like to be away from their owner. Parting is such sweet sorrow. They take excellent care of your dog. They do cats, but I think it's mostly dogs. I can't say that I've really ever seen a cat there.

I took my dog in for grooming. I had to pay for a checkup prior to the groom even though my dog was healthy and he'd been seen by another vet within the last year. Dr. Humphrey was fine. The grooming was bad. When I dropped him off, I asked for mats to be cut out, and Chris shaved half his feathering. He had a chunk of fur left long on one side of the top of his head. She took him back and shaved that off. His inside ears weren't touched. She took him back again. I talked to her about trimming between his toes so he wouldn't get mats but his paws weren't touched except a ragged job of cutting nails that were split that night. We talked about her trimming off ends of his feathering and none of that was done. It took 6 phone calls over a week's time frame before they called me back. I took him in again for the paws and again, it was a lousy job. She barely trimmed the bottom, didn't get between the toes and didn't touch the top fur of the paws. Lazy or incompetent... I don't know but I won't be back. They gave me a partial refund. I took him somewhere else.

    PRAIRIE VILLAGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL
We've been literally going to them for like over 20 years. I have nothing but great things to say about them. I love those Doctors there. They're good, they're wonderful people there. We get our dogs groomed there. The groomer is very nice, she does a good job. They get their shots there and if anythings wrong we take them there for health issues.

Alex was segregated from other pups, which was fine since she is not a sociable dog. Nothing wrong with bath and nail trim. Sandra was nice enough. No credit card acceptance is a BIG MINUS! Should have mentioned that when I scheduled the appt.

They were super kind to my pet and he loved being there -- that is the most important thing to me! His paws could have been a little cleaner, but I'll make that trade-off any day for their sweet treatment of him and his adorable haircut. Seriously, the best shape of any groomer we've visited.

    Puppy's Playpen
I have been going there for at least 10 years, with 2 different dogs. I always feel good leaving them at Puppy's Playpen, I know they will be safe and well cared for! I love that I can check on the webcam! The smaller dogs are in a room behind the front desk, with the staff during the day. They are running around underfoot, just like at home. There are plenty of sofas, soft blankets and beds for them to rest on. The staff is great! My dog wags his tail when we get there, so I don't feel as bad leaving him. I would definitely recommend it!

    Puppy's Playpen
My dog Cliff always seems to be in a better mood when I pick him up from here than when I do from a chain store like PetCo. It's pretty obvious how much they care about the dogs there and they do great work. Highly recommend them.

We use them every five to six weeks. Our groomer is Jessie. She is excellent, and very good. She gives very good service and is on time. She is absolutely really good with the animals. We have a little schnauzer and he loves her. He knows when we get almost there. That's how much he likes her.
