Moving reviews in Overland Park

All My Sons Moving & Storage
OK, I normally hate having to write a review, but this experience with All My Sons Moving of Overland Park was over and above bad. I make my living in sales and this, this was an all around failure by the people supplying the service including the Owner that I ended up talking to. The first of August I scheduled All My Sons Moving and Storage to move from a 2,200 sq. ft. home to a new home of comparable size. The Mover arrived at 11:00 am in the morning on Friday and started the move. By 2:00pm the movers were complaining that my furniture was too heavy and and saying my, Eathan Allen, furniture was too heavy and suggested several times that they can be more helpful if they get a good tip. One of the movers said my stuff was too heavy and that he was through for the day. We had boxes upstairs and they used a dolly to move them which was fine, but they did not ease the dolly down the stairs but ran it down the stairs. They scratched the furniture since they dumped it in the yard on top of other furniture and when we asked that they wrap the furniture and use pads as the estimator said they would they got mad, (I never raised my voice, they had my things on the truck and me by the short hairs), The movers after this request called their manager and said that I was disrespecting them and they were going to quit, (This was to protect themselves from later complaints) their manager called me and said that his people were upset and wanted to quit and asked that I apologize, huh. Well finally we were ready to move to the new house at 5:00pm and I bought them dinner to calm down the situation. Well at the new house the same thing happened and they did the same things, but what could I do, they had my things on their truck, I just wanted them to be finished. Every time they destroyed anything, the lead mover would take a picture and said he would give it to their management for them to review and take care of, (I late found out after talking with the owner that they do not take pictures and he had nothing with regard to the move), I figure this was done to make me less mad and not document the damage myself. At 8:00pm the lead was after me to complete my bill which was $1,000 more than estimated, I guess I could have said no but they had my stuff on their truck so, yes I signed their bill, very tricky. The move ended at 11:00pm. I was never so mad and happy to see them go. Needless to say, I called the owner and told him how bad the move was and related the sory above and he was sympathetic but no discounts for the trouble or apology. The Owner said he would call his furniture guy after he got off the phone to come do the repairs to my furniture. Well, here it is the end of September and never a call or visit. You make the decision, would you want to use this Company?

    Moovers of KC North LLC
I had shopped around some before making my decision to go with Moovers their rates are definitely the most reasonably priced and two friends ended up recommended them as well. Tyrell and Tenell were awesome, they were very efficient in getting my things loaded and unloaded and very nice as well. If youre looking to move Id definitely recommend choosing Moovers!

    Moovers of KC North LLC
Moovers showed up on time. The guys were polite, energetic, and friendly. They were very careful and respectful. Their friendly conversation made the day go by quickly and what is an otherwise unfun task, fun. They were careful with furniture parts and put my furniture pieces back together with ease. I would definitely use Moovers again!

    Always Helpful Movers & Storage
Anthony, Albert and Njah Leslie were the team of movers assigned to us. They were prompt on arrival and presented friendly and positive attitudes. They took pride in their job and were very carful, many of the items were heavy, large and awkward to move. They worked efficiently as a team and finished the job in less time than expected. We were very pleased with this team of gentlemen and would most certainly request them again for any future moves.

    Always Helpful Movers & Storage
I cannot praise these folks highly enough!! We chose them because they had very competitive pricing, but also because they promised to deliver our goods by far the quickest. We asked them to pack some large and fragile items, such as paintings and expensive furniture, and EVERYTHING arrived in the exact shape in which we left it!!! Unbelievable care was taken in both packing and unpacking. NOTHING was damaged or lost. They moved our stuff from Kansas to South Carolina on July 4th and 5th (a 15-hour drive), showed up as promised, and unpacked everything very quickly and carefully! AND - the final cost ended up being 14% less than their estimate in their contract!! I have never had that moving experience before. These people make me feel like moving again! Sorry, that was a dumb joke ;-) - Seriously, these people are the BEST!

    Kingdom Movers
This is the worst moving experience I've ever encountered. And I've had my wedding flowers crushed. To begin with, the owner asked that we pay him in cash because his business account was overdrawn. Suspect, but okay. We'll help you out. When the day of the move arrives on Friday, March 15th, they were an hour and a half late. I had to call the owner a half hour in to their scheduled arrival time to find out where they were. He said he had personnel issues the night before and hopefully they would be along soon. As they packed the truck, the movers managed to break off the base of one of our nice TVs. As they were loading our 3 TVs, they were pushing and shoving them in. We could hear the squeak of plastic-on-plastic and then the base tore off. They said they could screw it back on by driving bolts through the back of the broken base. Thank you, no. Then, as they were loading our hutch which is a family heirloom, they wanted to place a gliding chair on top with no blankets or anything between. I had to finally tell them to stop and add some blankets. Had I not, they would have left those two pieces to bounce together during transport. Of our two movers, Nathaniel was great. He was upbeat, moving quickly, great customer service game. The other mover was slow, grumpy and overall had a poor disposition. At one point, the second mover decided he would setup our washer without telling us. I don't mind that level of service, but when we walked by, we think he thought we were Nathaniel because he said aloud "I'm over all this s***." That's incredibly out of line and in bad taste. Then, when we tried to use our washer, we discovered it was hooked up incorrectly and our floor was met with a flood of water. The dryer was left for us to hook-up. The movers were also unable to move everything we had. There wasn't much: we didn't even have a LR set or dining room table because we sold them. It was a 3 bed, 2 bath house. This would leave everything down to poor packing. They didn't offer to return to the first house to get the remaining furniture, so we had to get our own U-Haul the next day, costing us an extra $100 to get the remaining furniture. Once the move was completed, we attempted to contact the owner to discuss the damaged TV. No answer. Even though he gave us two numbers to get ahold of him that day, neither us, nor his employees could contact him. We opted to pay everything but $70 pending a callback from him so we could discuss damages. After we attempted to contact him multiple times on Friday, March 15th after the job was completed, we called again on March 16th at 11:25am which was not answered. This is, clearly, within the 24-hour period required on the contract since the job wasn't completed until after 4pm on the 15th. We were not able to make contact with the owner until March 20th at 3:10pm--5 days after the move took place. Once we made contact, he advised that he happened to be on his Honeymoon during that week. Okay, I get that. But communicate to your customers that you will be getting married and then on your Honeymoon, therefore will be radio silent. It's odd that the owner gave us numbers to reach him and then failed to answer them when used. While on the phone, I told him that we discovered that nearly every piece of furniture that wasn't in a box had some sort of damage on it: scrapes, scratches, gouges, and the like. I also reported the customer service issues we had. He requested photos be sent to him and then he would consult a repair professional to discuss repair costs and apologized for our experience and that he would get back to us quickly. We sent the photos within a couple of days on March 25th. I had to text him myself on April 3rd asking if he received them. He stated he did receive them, but the photos look like previous damage. He mentioned he spoke to his two movers and they stated that we "exaggerated" our experience. He states the damages could be repaired with the amount we didn't pay in full ($70). We responded saying that we wanted him to honor his contract agreement that they will pay for damages incurred during the move, but he states he wasn't informed of them within the 24-hour period. While we initially only recognized the TV damage moments after the move was completed, it is unrealistic to expect us to note any and all other damages to communicate to the owner and/or his movers before they left our residence. However, we did note it later that evening and the following day. This is what we attempted to discuss with him within that 24-hour period, yet we were unable to make contact. We are not prone to claiming false damages. There was obviously prior damage on a wooden desk that we even joked about with Nathaniel. At no point have we claimed that damage or tried to scam the owner or his company over it or any other damages. It clearly states in our contract with the company that they "agree to repair, replace, or compensate the customer to their satisfaction if we damage any items." At the bottom of this same contract, it says that they will honor those damages if discovered within the 24-hour period, which we clearly did discover within the appropriate time frame. It is not appropriate to fault the customer for being unable to make contact with the owner simply because he didn't answer his phone. Looking at the damage photos, it is obvious that the damage is new: there's still splintering present on many of the damage spots and the wood coloring appears as freshly exposed wood. This is not typical appearance of old damage. We're only asking that the company honor their agreement and fulfill the terms of the contract by resolving the damage the company caused. This is not an out-of-line request.

    Happy Hour Moving
All 3 days went smoothly including one day that was rainy and another that was over 90 degrees. Nothing appeared to be damaged in the moves and the workers worked hard with good attitudes. The only small complaint is the 3 hour arrival window and not knowing what time your move will be. This is the way of the service world nowadays and probably somewhat unavoidable, but the only reason for a small punctuality deduction. Otherwise we were happy and would hire the movers again.

    Gandhi Moved Me L.L.C.
We called Trenton on Monday and he came out Tuesday morning to size the job. They worked with us starting on Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving and finished the job on Thanksgiving day! Nothing seriously damaged, just the miscellaneous drywall or door dings that sometimes happen when you are moving larger furniture through tight door frames. Would recommend them without hesitation. Professional and trustworthy.

    You Move Me
You can't go wrong with You Move Me. Seriously. This company was amazing. From scheduling my move appointment to look at what I was moving, to confirmation calls to the five man team lead by Sam and Sam, it was amazing. Moving is stressful enough but having You Move Me help us out on this move was a HUGE HELP! Highly recommend!
