lls I contacted John in early May.  I did not need a full property survey, only my southern border in order to determine if I need to move a fence line.  They have been swamped with business.  After we traded calls several times, he apologized for their inability to do my job in a timely manner so he told me had sub-contracted my job to a former employee and that he would take care of me.  Randy did the job today in this heat and took the timeto double check the measurements and fully explain everything to me.

    RENNER SURVEYING INC
We needed to have a new land survey recorded with the county in order to get a building permit for a new deck and our landscape architect recommended Renner. A process that should have taken about two weeks took longer than three months. Renner performed our survey in September, 2014 but did not submit work that was acceptable to the county until December 30th.
Emails between the county and Renner showed that he was asked repeatedly to correct errors and deficiencies in his work and, with each request from the county, another week or two was lost.
Renner agreed to cut his fee of $1,750 in half, but the long delay that he caused meant that our new deck, which should have been completed in the fall of 2014, wouldn?t even get started until April of 2015.

Now this is how a business should be run!  After a terrible experience with another Angie's List "A" vendor, these guys did a great job.  The cost was higher, but you get what you pay for.  Very knowledgeable, patient with my questions, responsive with updates and follow up.  Even sent me additional information about survey stake tampering when I expressed my concern about my troublesome neighbors moving the stakes and pins.  All in all, went as promised and even came several days early!  Awesome job and highly recommended.

    Region Land Survey Inc
I first contacted Region Land Survey in mid April after checking with Angie's List for a good company and saw they had an and quot;Aand quot; rating. My first conversation with them they said they were very back logged and it would probably be mid May before they could get to my survey. I said that was fine and expected a call around the 12-15th of May to confirm the appointment. The price seemed fare and the wait time also seemed reasonable for spring and I wasn't in a hurry. Well the scheduled time came and went so I called back and got another apology and they said they were still backed up and that they would definitely have my survey done before the end of the month. They explained they were training another employee to take up some of the overload since they were busy with their and quot;regularand quot; customers. They were very polite and seemed sincere with the apology so I decided to be patient when asked if I would prefer to cancel my work order and use another vendor. I agreed to wait for the end of the month because if I cancelled now I'd go to the end of the list with another company and potentially wait even longer. No one had called or showed up to perform services by May 30, another missed deadline. I called and left another message on 6/2 asking if they were going to honor their commitment, but haven't heard back. June 3, still no answer. June 4, left another message. June 5, still no reply, tried to leave another message but their mail box was full. Would not recommend this company for any services.

One thing he did is right where they stake our property and it abutted a neighbor's property. Where they put a stake in they dug a hole and the neighbor's property was right in that area. They had tore up a big chunk of grass and then they stuck a stake there and I saw it and I said "Oh my God", so I tried to put it back in place the I talked to the neighbor and he said he noticed and he is wondering what went on, so I had to explain to him and he said "but why would they dig such a big hole?". I just did not feel that they did it in a neat way as they could have and that was the thing that got me. I gave the guy a copy a survey that had been done like a few years before and I gave him a copy of the cover page which had the drawing of the lot so he could see that we had one done. He took it with him. I had to call him to say we would like to get the copy back because that is the only copy we had and he said "okay we will send that when we send your report back out" and we got the report from them sometime later and the thing was when they gave us their survey, it looked like they had laid a piece of paper on top of the original one that we had done. We looked at it and this looks like they just used ours and laid it down and then drew their dimensions on another sheet of paper. We are not going to use them again because. It just seemed like it was done in a lazy way. We definitely would not use them again.
