Insulation reviews in Olathe

    Green Factor Insulation Inc
Being new to this house, I notice the attic was lacking in insulation in many areas as the original installer of the insulation cut several corners. This fact was further accented as I wanted R60. I researched SEVERAL different companies and did not let onto my knowledge and experience of being a very handy homeowner; there is not much I cannot do around the house. Green Factor was the preferred choice even though they were not the lowest price, but they were the RIGHT choice. And yes, their pricing is very competitive. After hearing and understanding my needs, concerns and expectations, they did their analysis and provided me a list of options to consider, while also weighing in on the 'value' of each option. We agreed to have a foil-board (my verbiage, heat-cold reflective board) placed onto a knee wall while spray foaming all fan-light boxes in the attic, and ensuring all soffit baffles were clear and open. Insulation was also blowin in (fiberglass-like, not cellulose) and pictures were taken as the work progressed. This was valuable as I have a hard-to-reach cathedral ceiling area Lastly, they additionally provide a pre- and post home pressure test to understand the amount of 'sealing' was accomplished; ending pressure denoted approximately 1280 (sweet spot is 1200-1300). Their attention to detail, patience and approach is nothing but stellar, and I would hire them back in a flash. I've already recommended them to several friends and neighbors. I cannot be more satisfied or happy. If you are looking for an honest, hard working and quality installation, THIS IS THE COMPANY. THANK YOU Green Factor!

    Insulation Pros
I can't say enough about how great my experience with Insulation Pros was. I called them because they had a free inspection and quote and not only did he come in with a number way below what I expected he found an issue with a pipe and pointed it out to me! Installers were extremely courteous, professional and did a fantastic job even after finding some unexpected obstacles from my house. For a small amount extra they even built a hinged cover around my attic fan. I am extremely pleased.

    Insulation Pros
They arrived right on time and were the most professional, careful, and considerate group of insulation professionals I could have asked for! They performed all work exactly as quoted and explained everything as they progressed. I especially loved how careful they were with our belongings and covered everything and every stairway with plastic from start to finish. When finished, they cleaned up so well you would never know they were in your house if you didn't see the new insulation! I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing insulation professionals that tell you exactly what they are going to do, doing exactly what they said they were going to do, and cleaning up so well you will be amazed! 100% satisfied customer!!!

The service provided was great, the staff were punctual, efficient and knowledgeable. They were reasonable in price, answered all my questions and cleaned up all the debris before leaving . The written reports were sent promptly after the testing was completed. I would definitely hire them again.

Terminix - Overland Park -Termite & Pest Control
They did not perform the services we paid them to perform (exculsion services to seal up holes in the house through which mice could come). The service they did actually perform (putting out mouse bait stations) did not go well. The bait stations were placed in the home because they were tamper proof and safe around kids and dogs. However, the mouse bait inside crumbled, leaving somewhere around a teaspoon to a tablespoon of mouse poison on our floor for our toddler and dog to potentially eat. When I called to speak to a manager to get the problems fixed, it took several phone calls to even get a call back. This is literally the worst company I've ever worked with.

    Insulation Pros
Bottom line: Insulation Pros did a fantastic job at a great price! In December 2016 they transformed our attic into a tight environment that holds the heat in our house. After the first frost in January 2017, we noticed that the frost was melting on the roof where we have small vaults in our roof, We asked Larry, the owner of Insulation Pros, to stop by to investigate the cause. Larry quickly identified that cause as vaults that you can't really see from the attic. We asked him to go ahead and fill those vaults after he gave us a more-than-fair price. They crew arrived on time. Rather than drag their hose through our house, they were able to bring it in a second floor bedroom window. But first, they put plastic over the floor between the window and the attic entrance. I watched the crew member in the attic crawl on his stomach and put the pipe that blows the insulation deep into the ceiling vaults. We could hear it filling the vaults from the rooms below. The insulation in our attic is amazing. We are sure that our house is cozier and stays warm longer between furnace cycles. We're betting that we won't see anymore uneven melting on our roof due to poor insulation. This company does great work! NOTE: The pictures are from the original job completed on December 28, 2016.

    Insulation Pros
The company owner, Larry, and another employee arrived promptly to evaluate our needs. Based on their observations and our conversation, we identified exactly the right work needed to address our concerns. Larry provided a brochure that described the materials he uses for insulation and explained the difference between radiant barriers and other ways of insulating walls that extend into an attic. The estimate arrived within two hours or less of Larry leaving our home. It was fair and the scope of work agreed with what we discussed. He was able to schedule our work within two weeks of providing the estimate. The crew called when they were on the way and arrived promptly, as expected. They put plastic on our floors to protect them from tracking as well as from insulation bits. They also cheerfully showed us what they were doing at different points during the job. After foam sealing air access points around light fixtures, electric lines, vents, and framing, they checked our living area to be sure that no foam accidentally came through anywhere. They added long baffles to protect our soffit ventilation from being blocked. They removed old insulation bats from knee walls and replaced them with fabric and blown in insulation. They also used the same fabric on the floor of our storage area and replaced all of the old insulation in that area with new insulation that will work well with the replacement floor that will be installed. Our house is about 2100 SF plus the knee walls. The total job took about 6.5 hours with three crew members working non-stop. We would definitely use them again if we identify other insulation needs -- maybe our cantilevers?

    The Hayes Company
The energy advisor, Mike, was thorough and pointed out additional work that needed to be done in our attic besides adding insulation. His bid came through the same day he was at our house. Unfortunately the scope of work that he bid far exceeded what we were willing to spend. He included replacing the floor in our storage area as well as adding a second attic entrance from our garage ceiling. We actually ended up pulling up the floor ourselves and adding an extra entrance was unnecessary. He also pointed out attic condensation that we had missed. It was due to some plastic that we'd thrown on the floor in a storage area. We could remove it ourselves since it didn't take their level of expertise. Again, he was thorough and we appreciated his insight. His ideas about improving the insulation around a loft were excellent, but the way he wanted to treat our soffits seemed like overkill after listening to two other companies. Overall, we think that The Hayes Company would do a good job, but we simply didn't need everything included in the estimate, plus they were $2800 higher than one and $3700 higher than another with similar bids minus replacing the floor and adding an additional attic access point. We didn't see any point in getting a bid for a scaled-down scope of work.

    A+ Insulation
The consultant, Matt, was thorough and gave us clear explanations for the work that he saw needed to be done. In addition to simply adding insulation, he recommended sealing all air penetration points and other typical work that the builder hadn't done in 1998. The bid was detailed and provided on the spot--no waiting. He also provided a figure for upgrading from an R49 to R60, if we wanted to step up our game. The bid was within $700 of another contractor and about $2200 less than a third contractor, so it was a tough decision. We went with the cheaper bid because they gave us a senior discount and we liked their descriptions of materials they proposed using and their method for sealing air penetration points.

    Jim Saner's Home Remodeling LLC
This is our second experience with Saner Remodeling. We had a bathroom remodel 4 years ago and were so impressed with the work Robert did that we called him back to finish a room in our basement. As with the bathroom remodel, all work was completed extremely well and in a timely manner. Robert and Chuck were personable and professional and made sure that everything was cleaned up along the way and at the completion of the project. I would highly recommend them and would use Jim's crew anytime for additional jobs.
