I wanted a mower that had not been unboxed, however, Lowe's thought it would be unlikely to get a new one unboxed. There were 3 units; one inside and 2 outside. I looked at all 3 and pointed out the one that I did not want as it had scratches on the hood. The next day, Sunday, I worked and my wife received the mower and the delivery person said the mower had just been unboxed. When the mower was delivered it would not start (as the key had been left on), the right front tire was low, and we received the unit with the scratches on the hood. The person delivering the mower said the battery could not be returned by the customer as that would cost the customer $30 but they would make arrangements to bring out a new battery (the delivery manager then called back on Tuesday wanting to know if I needed a new battery, however, I had charged the battery and it seemed to work). I aired the tire up, however, the next day, Monday, the tire was flat again.  I called Lowe's and was told they would fix the tire and to bring it in on my next day off. I also mentioned that the mower was delivered with 21.5 hours (first service is at 25 hours per the manual) on the hour meter and was informed that was not unusual. After this assurance, I mowed the grass and found that the deck was a little over a 1/2 inch out of level. I removed the front wheel and took the wheel and tire back to Lowe's for the repair. Lowe's had pulled a generic tire and wheel off the shelf for the replacement which was a different color and did not have the ability to be greased. I then had to wait an 75 minutes while Lowe's figured out what to do because I did not want to have fix-a-flat in the tire. Also, the person in customer service said the mowers are received with no time on the hour meter, that the key is placed in the mower at Lowe's and that children like to turn on the key which allows the hour meter to add time. What started as enjoyable event (buying a new riding mower), moved from disappointing and finally to absolute aggravation. Worst of all I drive 100 feet from a Home Depot twice a day but drive 30 minutes round trip to Lowe's because I had always liked Lowe's better. During the process, the managers would not talk on the phone but in the background and even though there were several issues, it seemed it wasn't really all that bad since it was just a mower.

A rubber piece stretched and broke on the vacuum. Before we knew what had happened, it scratched our hardwood floors. We took it back and the salesman said that he had never seen that happen on a Dyson. He said it would take up to four weeks for repair. They refused to give us a new one and all they would do is send it in for repair. The manager refused to refund our money or replace the vacuum. We weren't treated with good customer care at all.

We emailed Nick Faddis (Nutterman's Appliance Repair) about problems we were having with our Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer set.   The washer was making a very odd screeching noise and the dryer was not heating correctly.  He responded promptly to the email and we arranged an appointment time when he could examine the set.

He showed up for the appointment at the arranged time and examined the set quickly.  Nick found that a failing water inlet solenoid was causing the odd screeching noise in the washer.  The dryer problem was caused by a tripped overheat sensor switch (a re-settable switch on this model).

We had just moved the washer and dryer from another house, so the power cord on the dryer was not the right length.  He replaced the electric cord for us, with a more appropriate size, which allowed the exhaust hose more freedom, and he reset the overheat switch.  It is plausible that the overheat switch was tripped by the move between houses or by blockage to the airflow due to the undersized power cord constraints.  We decided not to immediately replace the inlet solenoid on the washer since the washer was still functional, it wasn't causing any further damage, and the parts for Fisher & Paykel can take a while to get in.  Nick said he would look up the part for us -- since it will probably eventually fail completely.

Nick was very prompt, quick and professional.  He had a good understanding of Fisher & Paykel appliances -- which is not common with appliance repair people.  I will definitely call him again and would recommend him to anyone.

Overall; I was pleased with the price. There was a mix up on the delivery; and instead of being the first delivery of the day as I had requested; they finally showed up at 7 pm. The company went out of there way to make it up to me; even reimbursing me the delivery costs. They had recently implemented a new computer program and the scheduler was not able to see my request for delivery time at the bottom of the sheet.

I was very happy that they took it out of the box and assembled it for me. Another appliance store wouldn't even do that for me. I was very pleased with the entire experience. They helped me all along the way and their customer service is wonderful.

Everyone was most pleasant to us. And most understanding. But the bottom line remains that the Sears motto of "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back...within a reasonable period of time" is now a joke and not a policy. We are also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

We bought a fridge which they did not have in stock, so they set a delivery date for two weeks later when they expected it to arrive in stock, and they were not able to deliver on time, so we set up another delivery date for a week later. That delivery was successful, but the fridge did not work (which is not NFM's fault) so after several irate calls they decided to give us the floor model for a discount and have it delivered the in two days. Once we got the floor model it didn't have the ice maker installed, but the fridge worked, so we set up an ice maker installation with NFM and they only had appointments for 3 weeks later. It was way to much drama for a fridge. In summary, they couldn't deliver on time and their customer support was helpful only after we were stern with them.
