    RG Small Engine Repair
    Work was great, and the owner took the time to answer my questions. It took a little longer then expected (they estimated about 2 weeks and it took about 3-1/2 weeks). That said, it was just before the growing season began, and they were crammed with everybody's lawn equipment who waited till early spring to get the work done (me included). In the future, I'll drop ours off in the fall!

    He knows the lawn, what it needs. We are not one of many, even though he has many clients. He customize the lawns. It was in a miserable shape when he started, and he brought the whole thing back to a lush lawn. He does a great job. Twenty minutes, depends on service. Lawn cut, fifteen to twenty minutes. If he puts an application on, double that. He is very quick. He blows everything off, and make sure the trimmings are off.

    MAISCH SMALL ENGINE REPAIRS
    Chainsaw would run but not idle. Evan thoroughly tested and diagnosed the chainsaw, replaced the clutch springs, and tuned the carb. He clearly explained to me what was wrong, the cost of repair, and demonstrated the saw working correctly afterwards. He also explained how I should properly tune a carb. In this case he was able to repair the saw while I waited (< 1 hour). I also purchased some chainsaw consumables.
    While I don?t usually drive past here, I will now definitely use Maisch in the future. I preferred Maisch?s customer service to the other Stihl dealer I?ve used previously.

    Fixin' Lawnmowers
    We originally took our lawn mower to Nuts and Bolts for repair after it shut off and failed to restart while mowing one day. After 2 weeks of waiting and several different guesses at what the issue might be without an actual diagnosis, Nuts and Bolts finally got back to us and told us that because we had used premium gas in our mower we had corroded the valves in the engine and ruined the engine beyond repair. We decided to get a second opinion and went to Brent. After 3 days with our mower Brent called us back and said he had found the issue. The carburetor had a small crack in it and needed to be replaced. He had researched out the cheapest options for replacement carburetors and even offered to go pick up the carburetor for us for a small $10 fee, more than fair and very much appreciated. Thanks to Brent our 32 year-old mower is still running strong! Brent got back to us quickly, accurately diagnosed the issue, had very fair pricing and saved us from having to buy a new mower! We are so appreciative.

    SMITTY'S LAWN & GARDEN EQUIPMENT
    Service people seemed efficient and knowledgeable, but  initially diagnosed the problem wrongly; they said I needed to use gas with no ethanol in it.  The real problem was the automatic choke. I don't believe their mechanics are trained on Honda lawnmowers.

    Fixin' Lawnmowers
    We have used him for lawnmower repair and to fix a fan in the past. He does good work, and goes beyond just fixing the lawnmower. He also called us to tell us about things that need to be replaced, and where to buy parts at a reasonable price. He actually brought the mower back to us, and it was ready to be put up for winter. He told us to give him a call when we were ready for spring. I can't think of any deficit that he has.

    I had to take it back again and again to get the throttle linkage and carburator adjusted right.  They never would get the max rpm set properly so it would cut and pick up leaves.   Always too slow.  Last fall, it began running inconsistently in rpm.  They said it was a bulb in the carburator.  I paid for another repair.  Again, they didn't get the rpm right.  After that repair, it never ran right last fall.  This spring, it would hardly run.   Took it back again in April 2012.  First, they tried to blame the gas.  I had stablizied it.  They said that wasn't good enough.  Well, it is good enough for my boat according to the boat repair shop.   What are we supposed to do.  We cant leave the gas in it and stablizing it isn't good enough either!!

    Then, he could not get it started so he told me my valves were bad.  This was an excuse for not being able to get it started after his carburator repair.   So they found a lame excuse to throw up thier hands with it and walk away.

    Brought the lawn mower in Memorial Day weekend.  Was told it would take ~2 weeks to service.  Called them after 2 weeks to come pick up.  Was told they mower was still being worked on.  Asked them if they could give me an update on when it might be completed and was told they "needed to check with the technician who was working on it" and that they would call me back - never did call me back.  I called them back a week later and got the same answer and the same "no return" phone call.  Called them back the beginning of the 4th week, got the same answer to which I responded they had my mower for now almost a month and no one can provide an update.  They then started looking for the work order, which they then told me was lost.  They would "rush" status my mower and I could pick it up 2 days later (Saturday).  Picked up and bill had been given a 10% discount ($12) due to the waiting (attached to the bill was the original work order).  I asked them politely if they would split the cost of the total bill with me for my inconvenience and they said the 10% discount was the best they could do.  I said nothing further and gave my card to the checkout lade.  As she was ringing the sale up, they offered another 10% discount which, at that point, I told them they could keep it.  Lastly,  the checkout lady was the one who brought the mower to me and helped me load it.  Felt bad for her and wondered where the guys were.  Mower works great now - just everything else leading up to now, didn't.

    I called them a couple of weeks ago. They picked it up the next day in the morning, as they said they would. They called before they came to the house. They also called me about 7 days later saying it was finished. But they didn't have any deliveries in my area until about 5 days later...in which they did deliver the mower. Again they called before coming to the house. This is a very busy time for mower servicing...The lesson learned? Call in March.
