    AA Construction & Remodeling L.L.C.
Allan and his partner Chris are craftsmen. The new patio door looks sensational. I couldn't be more pleased with the improvement to the house I just purchased, Also, Allan improved the lighting in my house.

    AA Construction & Remodeling L.L.C.
If there were marks better than "A", this company would have them in ALL categories. As noted, a home that I had rented (out) for decades was badly abused by tenants and required a major overhaul. The job was scoped by several (4) contractors. Allan (AA co-owner) was the only one - who on the initial visit - was not afraid to get a 'little dirty' looking in all kinds of places so he would really understand the situation best. We solicited numerous bids for repair, and AA spent a bit more time than others to prepare a very detailed quote. The others seemed happy to estimate way high to cover their butts. The AA quote made it clear they understood all facets of the job including repairs needed for: 1. Floors (installing 3 different floor coverings - carpet, wood, and tile), 2. Walls (drywall, finish, and paint) 3. Ceiling repair 4. Windows (installed 14, various sizes) 5. Doors (framing, hanging, finishing, interior, exterior) 6. Construction (kitchen rebuild and modifications) 7. Kitchen (cabinets, counters, backsplashes, pluming, appliances, electrical) 8. Bathrooms (plumbing, fixtures, tile work, restoration, AC ducting) 9. Complete electrical service upgrade, all electrical fixtures, lights, and outlets to code. 10. Basement (plumbing, flooring, clean & paint) 9. Roof and Exterior (shake wood shingle replacement and repair, gutters, vegetation removal, runoff elevations corrected, landscaping, cosmetic improvements) 10. Garage (floor, door, elect) 11. Custom deck work 12. Fence and gate repair. The list above should emphasize that AA touched every part of this 60 year old home in the course of their efforts. There was NO single area of the house that could even be considered "ok" beforehand - EVERY AREA was "poor"!! His team performed like specialists in every area they touched (plumbing, electrical, construction - you name it) and NOT just "good at some things, not-so-good" at others. They were very good at EVERYTHING. Furthermore, AA was able to address EVERY problem that they ran into (and there were many many), using experience, and when needed, creativity. His foreman Chris is a total pro and they were super-easy to work with. Not only does Allan (and Chris) possess a WORK ETHIC that has become pretty rare nowadays, his YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in CUSTOM KITCHENS allowed him to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and a level of design awareness that came in very handy. He knows what right looks like! He never took shortcuts, even when he could have and where others might. He takes great pride in his work, and I think he feels connected to the project in a way that a friend or family member would. He did what he said he'd do EVERY TIME, and I view him as extremely trustworthy. I am omitting the value of the job in the info here as I see that as being sensitive information, but I will say that AA was highly competitive on price, and far superior in quality than all other bidders. They kept on task and we never had to wonder "what's going on?". Allan often sent photo updates (we are out of the local area) and we spoke on a frequent basis (but not too much). I would recommend Allan and Melissa Bridges and AA Construction and Remodel to my friends and family and know that I did a really good thing. I've included a few pics, but honestly pictures can't really tell the whole story. What's missing is just how bad the "before" was, and a lot of Allan's teams work ends up being hidden in photos anyway (inside walls, under floors, etc.). You will get a good sense of the work quality in any case. It looks like a brand new home. All in all, an "A+" performance.

Renewal by Andersen of Kansas City KS

The whole process was well orchestrated and seamless.  Every player (sales, measurement, office, installation, and follow-up) knew their part and played it extremely well.  Sales took care of the price and recommended the type of door to install (no sales pressure whatsoever); measurement person took care of measuring the door and answering any questions about the door; office person informed me when each appointment was scheduled; and installment person was efficient, knowledgeable, and cleaned up after the work was complete.  There were a couple of follow up calls and a reminder about their survey.  Each person stressed their five star rating.  I gave them a five star rating because it was well deserved, but if I received one more reference about five stars....

    Blue Springs Siding & Windows

We were told the project would take only 4 days and was to start on Friday, December 12, 2014.  It took over a month and the delays made us cancel our Christmas and New Year plans.

    1.  Problem one.  We were told that everything that was supposed to be removed would be hauled away.  The column bases are still on my front porch.

    2.  Problem two.  The salesman who came to the house sold us a product that didn't come to fruition.  Examples:

    a.  The sales pitch included the value and benefit of the company's use of GreenGuard Building Wrap.  We were shown samples of its superiority to Tyvek Wrap.  My first clue to the eventual outcome is red flagged in our contract that I went back to reread.  It state's that the company will use "Tyvek style" wrap.  About half the house was wrapped in Tyvek, the rest was wrapped in some knock off version.

    b.  The sales pitch stated that everything the company uninstalled from the house would be reinstalled.

         (1)  My DirecTv and internet cables were cut and not repaired, my wife and I had to pay for those to be fixed.

         (2)  My electric meter box was not reattached, we had to work with KCP&L to do the work for the company.

         (3)  My second floor porch fencing was not reinstalled.

    c.  We paid for the house to be completely sheeted in plywood and for all damaged/rotted wood to be replaced before the new siding was installed.  It didn't happen.

        (1)  There were three crews working on different aspects of the house.  They played a shell game with who was going to do what and none of them wanted to replace the wood that needed replaced.  The only wood that did get replaced was when I was physically present and demanded that it get replaced.  For example, the rotted wood where the garage doors are was wrapped over and not replaced and the soffits on the front of the house were jaggedly put back on and covered with the new siding material.

       (2)  The entire sections where my 3 gable vents are located were not sheeted prior to the new installation being put in place.  I didn't notice that until after the project was done and I had to get into my attic to replace the air filter for my furnace.

    3.  Problem three.  This is more of an "issue" of aesthetics rather than a problem.  The corners of the house leave a lot to be desired.  None of the corners are single pieces / seamless.  They present a jagged / ragged look to the finished product.

Overall, the price was good - it was competitive with other companies, but overall the frustration of having to be present or not get the work done to standard leaves a lot to be desired.  For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this company to others.

    Snyder Homes Remodeling
Although it has been several years (I thought a review had already been completed), I was very pleased with the quality of work Mr. Snyder did for us!!  I would definitely recommend his company to anyone.
As it has been so long, the approximate cost of service is a guess, at best.  I do, however, remember that it was very reasonable.

    Pella Windows and Doors
For the most part, it went pretty well. The window work has been just fine. There have been some issues with the door, especially the storm door. The windows worked out very well. There were 7 windows and it was $6,700. The door was about $3,000. It was a main entry door and a storm door. The installation went well and the windows have performed well. We've had to have a couple of callback visits concerning especially the storm door and once on the entry door also. We chose an expensive line. We got proposals from 3 places and Pella was actually second highest but only by a few dollars. We had other Pella windows so we went with them instead. The storm door is a third party but Pella installed it. They do what they say and they are going to do. They always set up an appointment and keep it. I would certainly use them again for windows and but I would think twice about doors.

    5 Star Construction LLC
Everyone was extremely nice and professional and very responsive to my questions.

The handyman work included fixing a metal strip on the garage door opening, installing a new can light, shaving 3 bathroom doors, a small bit exterior paint touch up, getting a stuck door open and tightening screws, and some good advice.   The other work was a lot of interior painting including spraying ceilings, 2 new steel doors to the outside, 1 small concrete pad, 3 permanent aluminum awnings.   I am very pleased with the outcome.    Thank you 5 Star!

    Pella Windows and Doors
The service turned out okay. We have had some issues with the storm door because of the way that it is made. They have came out to put in a new door and to make repairs. The design of the storm door seems to be flawed. We have been really happy with the windows and door. The installers professionalism was good. The service has been great. Their price is in line with their competitors. They were on time with the work as well.

    5 Star Construction LLC
I showed them what I wanted and off to work, they were quick and efficient, didn't waste time considering it was by the hour.  The area was built very sturdy.  After they were done with that I had a door that I was not able to get to latch closed no matter the tricks I tried so I asked them to fix it.  Sure enough they did, granted they had to pull the board around the door off and shim it (beyond what I could do) but it was finally fixed, I can close and lock my door, and never a look of "oh brother she wants more done."  They were happy to do anything I needed, and even asked if there was anything else I needed.
