Irrigation System reviews in Kansas City

    Land Escapes LLC
Perfectly! Brett, the owner, is extremely easy to work with. I ordered the job one day, and the bushes were planted the next day. Of course, he had some big jobs planned and there was a 1-day window that he could do my smaller job. I am very pleased! I have just purchased a different house, which has absolutely no landscaping yet, and I plan to use Land Escapes to landscape that yard, including putting in a sprinkler system.

    S & J Sprinklers
Purchased the package from Angie's list but the vendor will not answer phone calls, e-mails, or return messages so I cannot set it up. Have tried to contact numerous times over the last several weeks. Finally had to pay another company to blow out my system.

    The Lawn and Sprinkler Guys
They were not all that great. They promised me that they would take this up as a first call and be here around between 8 to 9'o clock. I waited till 9.30 and called them up and they said that you are not the first stop of the day and would not be there till mid day. They don't work with your schedule. I would say poor communication.

    The Lawn and Sprinkler Guys
I scheduled the service as an advertised "special deal" through Angie's List because their special was a cheaper price than the company I normally use and they could provide the service at an earlier date than the other company. The Lawn and Sprinkler Guys were very easy to deal with, were right on time, and seemed to do a good job, having never worked with my sprinkler system prior to this call.  The only concern I have is that when blowing the water out of the system in the back yard, the technician never went to the back to make sure all the water was blown out, as the previous company's technician had always done.  When I asked the Lawn and Sprinkler Guys' technician about this he said he knew the rate of pressure would have forced all the water out (or something to that affect).  Anyway, I don't know if there is a problem or not.  (I guess if there is, I won't know until the sprinklers are turned back on.) Other than that concern, which may or may not be warranted, they did a good job.

    Heritage Lawn & Irrigation
Josh arrived as scheduled, did the inspection and determined that we needed several sprinkler heads replaced. Our sprinkler controller had been broken for a year and as a result the grass was overgrown over some of the sprinkler heads.  To do a complete job, he needed a piece of equipment to locate parts of the system.  He didn't have the equipment with him and we scheduled an appointment for his return.  While there, we arranged for a replacement of our automated sprinkler control upon his return.  We asked about other services and he referred us to other members of his company for fertilization, weed care, aeration and seeding throughout the rest of the spring and summer.
The sprinkler control was replaced, the heads repaired or replaced and everything is working fine!  The other team is working to restore our lawn, the seasonal weeds are being addressed, the grass is coming back and we expect to have a beautiful lawn next spring!
The Heritage Lawn team is awesome!  They are professional, timely, and effective!  They are always helpful and answered all my questions, even if I just call the office.  I asked about installing sod in parts of the lawn where the grass had died.   They advised me that they could do it but it would be a waste of money because the sod would likely not survive if placed mid-summer and that the fall aeration and seeding would take care of the situation.  My neighbor laid sod about 3-4 weeks later and now most of the lawn is either dead of full of weeds!!!  Thanks Heritage!

    Austin's Lawn Care LLC
I do not recommend this company to others. I have used a different company for the past 7 years to handle my sprinkler winterization but due to a scheduling issue, I had to go with another company (Austin’s).  When the two guys from Austin’s came out, I could tell rather quickly that they may not have known exactly what they were doing.  They had difficulties hooking up their compressor to my back flow system (which controls where the water goes in and out of the sprinkler system).  When the time came this spring to use the sprinkler system again, I turned the water on encountered an issue.  Water was heavily flowing out of the back flow system, when it shouldn't have done this.  I called Austin's Lawn Care and Austin, the owner, said I just need to get a screw driver to tweak the valves.  I tried that, took photos of it, and sent it to Austin because the issue was not resolved.  I called Austin and he said over the phone that I probably needed a new back flow system.  I was surprised Austin didn't even come out to my home to investigate the issue.  Austin tried to sell me a new back flow system because he thought my system has worn out.  Austin also said that rebuilding the system would not be the best option because there would be no guarantees how long the rebuilt system would last.  I eventually called the other landscaping company I have used for 7 years for a second opinion.  This company came out to my home, investigated my sprinkler system, and advised that, in their opinion, Austin's incorrectly winterized my sprinkler system.  This was because four seals on my sprinkler system seemed to break all at once, which is usually a winterization issue.  In situations of worn out sprinkler systems, seals may break individually over time.   This second company said that due to the winterization damage, I now need a new sprinkler system.  I then called Austin and had this other company explain on a voicemail what they discovered.  Austin then continually ignored my multiple communications over multiple days.  This was until I left a voice mail saying that unless I heard from Austin very soon, I would contact Angie’s List, the BBB, and an attorney.  It only took Austin 5 minutes to reply to this message.  Austin said he would like to make things right with me by having two of his guys come out to rebuild my backflow system.  Keep in mind Austin had previously told me that rebuilding the system is not a good option.  I assume Austin recommended the rebuilding option because it would be the cheapest for him. Austin also confirmed he wanted to send out the same two guys who didn’t properly winterize my system in the first place. Austin also wanted to schedule me for a fall winterization and then a spring start up for the following year.  I was not pleased with this response since I want Austin to simply replace the system he broke.  Austin’s response to me was there’s nothing more he can do then.  I’ve been a teacher for the past 40 years and a $400+ fee for a new sprinkler system is a lot of money for me.  I feel I’m trying to be reasonable with Austin but it seems he’s not willing to make things right.  At the end of the day, I don’t want to spend my time trying to fix this issue or see anyone else have to go through this. I feel the only reason Austin called me back at all is because I mentioned Angie’s List, the BBB, and an attorney.  I don’t recommend others use Austin’s company, ever.  I also think it’s important to note that Austin still has never been out to my property at any time.

Technician was very timely, friendly and professional.  Quickly troubleshot the problem and replaced the sprinkler system master valve; took less than 30 minutes.  Sprinkler system now back in service.

    MW LAWN & LANDSCAPE INC
Excellent. All of the personnel I dealt with from the landscape designer, irrigation manager, and the crew were good to work with. They were professional and I was extremely pleased with all phases of their work and their workmanship. The condition of a magnolia tree that was planted in October 2009 appeared to be having problems after the hard winter and the company came out, looked at it and had a representative from another company that specializes in trees come out at no charge and examine it. With some additional watering the tree survived and looks great. They honored their guarantees and also replaced a couple of plants that did not survive the winter.

Mr. Banks was completely professional and communicated with me many times during my hesitation period while I did my homework. He even gave me his cell to call if I had questions, which we communicated by cell regularly for about four months prior to my final decision. The day came with my nerves shot and by the end of the day, I felt like I had made the right decision. All work was done timely and my yard looked great, minus new grass. Since that time, about six months ago now, I have not had one drop of water in my basement. I check it all the time and can now look forward to the spring rains with comfort knowing my personal belongings in the basement will stay dry.
