    I just had a horrible experience with APW Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. My mom is covered by a home warranty program and APW was referred to her to investigate a cooling problem with her upstairs unit. On the first visit, the tech found that the filter needed to be changed but clearly didn't inspect the rest of the system because the next week the system still wasn't keeping up with the cooling requirements. So they had to be called out a second time. By this time I'd arrived to help her with other stuff and when the APW tech, Tyler, arrived he looked the system over and recommended that the coils be cleaned, but there was some question as to whether it would be covered by the warranty. Mom immediately called the warranty company, but Tyler said that he couldn't wait for EVEN FOR A COUPLE MINUTES while she worked it out with the warranty company. We had to agree to pay them out of pocket immediately or they wouldn't do the work. So let me get this straight: They were supposed to be here at 1 PM but didn't show up until after 4 PM. So clearly it's OK for us to have to wait OVER THREE HOURS for them to show, but once here, they can't wait for FIVE MINUTES for us to get verification? If we had immediately agreed to pay out of pocket he would have been here to do the work, so it wasn't as if they didn't have the time. They simply chose not to give us the chance to decide how it would get funded. Tyler said that his manager told him repeatedly not to wait, so this is not a matter that applies just to the tech. This is an issue that is indemic to the company. Unfortunately, I was told by Tyler on TWO different occasions that I couldn't even talk to the manager. Really??? So I told him to leave and thankfully he did. The truth here is that we would have paid to have the work done regardless because it needed to be fixed. But the fact that he wouldn't wait for even a couple minutes is a fine example of CUSTOMER NO SERVICE. We can wait hours for them, but under no circumstances can they wait a couple of minutes for us. If you're in KC, I highly suggest that you NOT employ this company.

    The service provider was right on time. He was quick and efficient. The homeowner is elderly and I advised him he would need to speak loud and clearly so she could hear him well. He not only did so but also got down on his knees to be at face level with her in her chair, not towering over her talking down at her. He had a patient, kind demeanor and that was greatly appreciated! I definitely recommend this company and will continue to use them.

    Furnace went out on a very cold winter day. RMech was the first company that would actually get me in same day (low temp was supposed to be single digits that night). Provided pre-visit courtesy call. Arrived on time. Took care to put on shoe covers upon entering and leaving the house (yay!). Diagnosed the problem and took care of it once approval was given. The technician provided some advice on furnace unit/replacement, but wasn't pushy. Attention to shutting doors, cleaning up, etc was good. Furnace was in working order after part replacement and about 3 hours (had to leave and get part, so took a bit longer than if it had been stocked on the service vehicle). Would definitely use again.

    They came a month early, which is awesome. Cliff H, the HVAC Tech, was super helpful and professional. He found a bad solenoid for our Humidifier and was able to fix it immediately. My wife had noticed that she was feeling very dry. So it was a blessing to find the bad part and get it fixed, I would have never thought of it. Thanks!

    My CO alarm went off late this afternoon. I called 911. the Fire department came but by then the CO meter had stopped beeping. Nevertheless, they went inside and discovered elevated CO levels. However, they could not locate the source as the highest numbers were away from the combustion sources. The levels were slowly dropping the longer they were here. They advised me to have someone check the furnace. I called Summit and they were able to come out that evening. Tristan was professional and courteous. He called ahead to tell me he would be there in about 30 minutes. He used a sophisticated meter to check for CO in both the exhaust and the supply vent. He explained the process and the results showing on the meter. He also checked the flue in the attic, and didn't find anything. Before leaving He offered some suggestions for venting the utility room and improving the humidifier which I may implement at some later time.

    This company and it's tech were professional and punctual The total repair took approximately 20-30 minutes. The price was $281.00. It appeared to be quality work. The price, however, seemed very steep. These parts are available for approximately $50 at Home Depot and other hardware stores, which leaves the charge for labor at approximately $230. This is high for the small amount of time it took and it did not include anything extra like a free tune-up or free filter. I do not know how this would compare with other HVAC companies. It might be the going rate. I plan to check with a few other companies to find out what they would have charged, so I will know whether I want to use LADD again or go with another company when the next repair is needed. They show a senior discount on here, but they did not give me the senior discount. I was helped by a non-profit organization since I did not have the funds available, but will be paying them back as soon as possible.

    The tech identified an issue with one of the capacitors which I replaced myself with the OEM part. The capacitor did not resolve the issue, so I will have to revisit next season. My biggest issue was him tracking a black, oily substance through my house when he came inside. I've unfortunately been unable to get it out of the carpet. Most other companies cover their shoes when coming inside, but unfortunately this technician did not.

    I was in need of a circuit board installation for my furnace in order to get my air conditioning working. Mr. Bailey was punctual, professional and extremely helpful. After hours of troubleshooting he was able to get my A/C back up and running. I am so grateful, thank you!

    They called me about 7:20am the same day. My house was cooling again by 11:30am that day. He replaced a Capacitor, Charged the system and replaced the filter. I also started their RPM Agreement. Joel Bailey did a great job!
