    Marshall Restoration
Joe from Marshall Restoration was awesome to work with! He came out to assess our water damage the same day we called and found mold which he also took care of. He saw us through this job and did what he said he would do which is rare. He is a real professional and I could not recommended him more! Call Marshall Restoration, you will be extremely happy and will not have to worry about a thing if you hire Marshall Restoration.

    Marshall Restoration
Woke up on a holiday to standing water in a large area of my recently finished basement. I was worried that no one would answer my call until the following business day but to my surprise my call was returned promptly and a techniciaome was at my home within a couple of hours. All the work was explained thoroughly and my time and home were respected every in each step of the process.

    PuroClean Certified Restoration Specialists
I've never written a review before in my life. I always take them with a grain of salt. But for Troy Smith I have to make an exception. Long story short, a company that replaced hail damaged siding on my home did an inferior job that resulted in water/ice build up between the inner and outer walls, which leaked at the door framing below as the ice melted. Warmer weather caused mold to start growing. The smell was becoming unbearable. I spent over two thousand trying to remedy it to no avail. The siding installation company was denying and giving me the run around for a long time. I had inside air samples taken that resulted positive for the form of mold notorious for growing on damp drywall. The installer still denied me. Troy Smith came out and made an inspection for me. Using his experience and moisture meter clearly identified the exact point of moisture on the inside of the wall ( concealed damage ) and attempted to further make visual confirmation by removing the storm door frame, but there was not a void large enough to see anything. He later that day provided a written statement on exactly what he had discovered. All at no expense to myself. When a copy of the report was forwarded to the siding company, it was no longer just my opinion of circumstances. It was verified by a highly regarded specialist. Needless to say, 'it took the wind out of their sails'. Subsequently I hired him to come and do a thorough mold remediation. I had investigated the proper procedure of doing such as outlined by the CDC and HHS. His thoroughness not only met, but exceeded their requirements. I no longer have to tolerate the smell or health hazards created by the mold. I can't say enough good things about him. As I mentioned, I have never before written a review. And in addition he is no personal friend or relative. What he is is the best you could ever hope for to accommodate every need you might have. If you have any doubt, please contact him and ask for my cell phone number. I will gladly answer any questions or inquiries you might have. Thanks Troy. Pat Carrow Independence, MO

    Neighborhood Painting and Restoration, Inc.
Neighborhood Painting did wood rot repair, painting and gutter replacement after a big hailstorm in 2011. The paint has held up perfectly as promised. I had them come out again for wood rot repair and paint touchups in Fall 2019, and they even helped me out removing a 300 foot fence which has outlived its serviceable life. Ryan says my paint should last another 5 years and they're my go-to contractor for all things painting. They also helped me find a good quality custom replacement window. Ryan does a very thorough written estimate to capture the agreed work for your project. If the crew finds a hidden problem such as additional wood rot during your project, Ryan is very professional and flexible about updating the original quote with a fair adjustment. Neighborhood Painting works hard to please and build trust with even its most demanding customers. They are my go- to contractor for everything painting related. NOTE: I spent about $3500 back in 2011 to have a largish ~4500 sq foot house exterior painted. I also spent another$3500 for extensive wood rot repair not visible during the initial quote. In 2019 I spent $4000 primarily on wood rot repair.

    AdvantaClean of Kansas City
Terrific - huge relief! Wish now that I had not procrastinated getting an estimate. I simply had no time previously and now that I had 2 weeks' time off for the Christmas holiday season, decided I would undertake what I assumed would be the unpleasant task of researching companies, securing an estimate, and beginning to face what I was sure was a significant mold problem. I have a 58 year-old home (which we love and hope to remain in forever - as we moved here for the ranch layout and hardwoods - perfect for 2 family members in wheelchairs). Unfortunately, our beautiful but older home has old, corroding copper pipes in the walls - and pipe in the wall beneath kitchen sink had a few leaks that leaked over time into the wall. After plumbers cut open sheetrock to repair sections of leaking copper pipe (twice) ...as the home warranty plan we have is great and covers removal and replacement of corroded sections of copper pipe for a small co-pay (but only covers removal & replacement of a few inches of pipe around the corroded area rather than covering replacement of the entire 5 ft run of pipe) and we've had a couple sections of pipe in the wall under sink replaced. Each time a section of pipe was replaced, plumbers opened up more sheet rock in the area to expose the pipe - which also exposed mold on a 2 x 4 and insulation in that area. Plumbers had also quoted cost of replacing the entire run of pipe - just in case I ever decide to replace my lower kitchen cabinets, noting that would be a good time to get rid of the entire run of copper pipe. So - back to the mold issue I had avoided for so long, assuming it would be expensive. After getting a few names of mold remediation companies from Angie's List, I quickly read the reviews & noticed several reviews for Advanta Clean of Kansas City mentioned this was not a company looking to secure work if professional assistance was not truly needed and often simply provide a recommendation and advice on how the homeowner can take care of their smaller-than-anticipated work on their own and avoid costly repairs. Reading the reviews provided some relief, and I hoped to get a visit and free estimate from Kevin, as reviews of him were really good. What I actually experienced when Kevin visited our home can't easily be described. My worries and concerns were immediately alleviated. Kevin was highly professional, describing national guidelines recommendations, noting our issue was less substantial than we had thought, and provided 3 different approaches that could be taken - detailing each. The first approach (and one he recommended) was free - simply cleaning up the area ourselves with vinegar and allow it to dry well, along with using a dehumidifier in the house (as humidity was reading high). The second approach (if uncomfortable cleaning the small area of mold on our own) was in the $350 range plus cost for asbestos testing (necessary in a home of our age to ensure crews would be safe while completing repairs) with asbestos testing through an independent company of our choosing (though Kevin could provide info if needed) running ~$400 (this entire second approach was deemed an unnecessary but available option by Kevin), and the third approach was ~$1200 (which covered a significant amount of work...removing lower kitchen cabinets, all sheetrock & insulation behind them, cleaning up the area and using HEPA fans) which Kevin noted was an 'aggressive' but available approach - should we prefer that. I had feared hearing $5k to $6k - so had done nothing for far too long. I wish I had called earlier!! I now have a plan that costs me nothing for now - which I feel safe with (priceless). And, since I already intended to pull out & replace lower kitchen cabinets after saving up a bit (& also replace the 5 ft run of copper pipe in the wall that started all these issues) I now have a solid idea of what it will cost to do the level of agressive mold remediation that I prefer to do (pulling out/checking/replacing insulation near the area) - once I'm ready to be without a functioning kitchen for a bit. Meanwhile, I am very comfortable managing the small area of visible mold on my own. And, will definitely be calling Kevin at AdvantaClean whenever I get around to replacing my lower kitchen cabinets, to do the level of unnecessary but precautionary checking I'd prefer to do. An outstanding, highly professional company that I will be using in the future, and would recommend to friends and family. THANKS!!
