Ceiling Fan Installation reviews in Fairway

Went very well. I initially just wanted the ceiling fan installed but added other things that needed to be fixed. I feel good that I got all those things fixed. I will definitely use Stewart again as there is always something to do around my house.

Showed up early! Very quick and efficient. Worked diligently and quietly. It literally went so smoothly I barely even noticed he was around. He checked in with me a week later to inspect how everything was working

Bud was on right on time and greeted me with a friendly handshake upon entering. He explained everything he was going to do to install the fan and gave me a time estimate. After the fan was installed he took all the boxes and trash with him without asking. He even took the old working fan and said he donates them to charity. Bud told me I could call him anytime if I had any questions or if I just wanted to discuss ceiling fans in general. Go with Bud and you won't go wrong. I would let him back in my home to do a job even if I wasn't going to be there.

They have helped us with everything from electrical work (ceiling fans), A/C and furnace maintenance, clearing our main line, and most recently, one of their plumbers replaced our front and back spigots. AB May service people are always, fast, professional and knowledgable.
My only issue with AB May has been this... You have to make sure you leave very specific instructions on who the contact person at your house should be for that appointment, or your liable to miss the notification call that the repairman is on his way, and yoll u've to reschedule. When there has been a miscommunication of this kind in the past, AB May office personnel has made good efforts to correct/compensate for the mistake.

I found HM on Angie's list and decided to give them a call. I was doing a major bathroom remodel. I made an estimate appointment for two days after my initial call . Laurie was running late, but called me regularly to ensure she was on her way. I explained that I was doing the demo myself, and needed someone to install a new ceiling fan (vent to outside), install a new GFCI, all new drywall, and tile the shower. She understood completely and offered to skim coat the ceiling too. Everything went well, and later that day I had a quote that was very reasonable, given the scope of the project.
I soon had a schedule from a project manager, with dates and names of who will be doing what on which day.
Throughout the process, they played well with my plumber, who often had to be in the same area as the workers.
Day 1: Ceiling fan and GFCI. Electrician was thorough, prompt and polite. The only minor complaint is that he didn't clean up, I would recommend that HM makes that requirement for future jobs.
Day 2: Drywall. HM subcontracted this out to another company. They shimmed the walls first, then installed cement board around the shower, and drywall elsewhere. No complaints.
Day 3-4-5: Tape and mud walls; skim the ceiling. This contractor was from the same company as the drywall guy, and he did a good job. Some spots on the wall were not quite as "paint-ready" as promised, but overall he did well. He worked for 3 days on this, it was pretty tedious.
Day 4-5-6: Tile. I was lucky to get Marc Graham for this. It was the most challenging part and I was worried about how it would be handled. But he did it like a champ. Very tedious work and he made it look amazing. He also fixed the previously installed electrical switches and outlets (on day 1). Because of the added wall thickness due to shimming, the face plates wouldn't fit properly. He also helped install trim and window casing.
Overall, a great company with reasonable prices. Make sure you request Marc, he can do just about anything, and can also quote the job for you.

He seemed very nice. I was pretty impressed with him. He did a bunch of work for me. I had called another company and there was ceramic tile behind it and they had to drill the tile and that company's bid was higher and the young man was very nice, but he said that his boss would not let him drill through that and I would have to get somebody else to do that and that's why I went with Diamond Electric Service Inc. I felt everything was fine, but he could have done a little bit better clean up. The only thing is that he left some little pieces around and I felt he could have picked them up. He seems to be very competent and I guess it's the idea that he could do the whole thing and I didn't have to go and hunt up somebody else to do that one part. I didn't have to wait forever for him to come. I love my tree people, but they are so backed up that I have to write a month or two in advance or it seems that I have to wait that long. I like their availability and professionalism. The guy that came was very professional and he was able to come in and do the work in a timely fashion. He was pretty prompt in returning my call and I appreciate that because I e-mailed the man about plumbing issue, it's been 2 or 3 days that I e-mailed him and I haven't heard anything from him. He was reasonable as well. He was very responsive.

It went badly. Both kitchen light replacement and ceiling fan were very wobbly. I was concerned they might fall. The pendant light ended up broken. Tim did not advise me of it until he went to Home Depot and found out he could not get a replacement there, due to on line purchase. So that was left unfinished. I called and complained to management. Tim reimbursed me for broken light, but I asked for another man to come and fix the loose fan and other light, which was fixed under their warranty policy. I believe my new kitchen countertop had not been covered adequately so had scratches. It was a very bad experience for a first time experience. The second man took care of the problem, but it required 2 trips. (Communications problem with office). Two men came for original request and were there for hours. The directions for installing fan were still in the plastic sleeve, unused. The management of Handyman Connection made good on the errors, but what a bad experience.
