Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Reviews

"When my husband and I decided to remodel our fireplace and
dining room we researched contractors on Angie’s List. We were looking for a
company with a great reputation. As busy
parents of two young children, it was our desire to have a reliable and
professional contractor who could provide a properly and well-executed remodel in
a timely fashion with as little intrusion upon our daily lives as possible. We
had high hopes when we hired
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
that they were right for the job.
Unfortunately, our experience proved very disappointing.
We hired
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
as our general contractor so that the
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked

of managing the many steps of the project and finding the best craftsmen, rested
with the professional. During the project we have had to micro manage issues
with almost every trade.
We had a very specific masonry design, which we communicated through photos, emails and conversations
with
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. However the day the mason came to our job, he had little
information as to what it entailed. Once he understood, he claimed that it
wasn’t possible. After much discussion and frustration with
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
we
halted the project, and found our own mason, Chapman Masonry. They had no
problem executing our design, and did it extremely well. However this
caused a several week delay and the need to purchase new, appropriate
materials.
Repeated drywall attempts
for our dining room ceiling left us very unimpressed with Discount
Drywall.
Footprints were left all over
our newly sealed floors in the living room, which resulted in a “do over”.
We needed cable run to
allow for a TV to be mounted above the new fireplace. The electrician
relocated an old cable without testing it or having any idea of it was a
functioning outlet. When it didn’t work, a hole had to be cut into our new
wall to correct the issue.
Crown had to be recaulked
twice before it was done properly.
Trim arrived at my house
to work, but had no idea what he was supposed to do. I had to provide instructions
and show where the work was to be done and where the materials were.
In the end of a project that seemed to be one frustration
after another we made
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
aware of our disappointment. (Although they had
been made aware throughout the project as well.) After which they corrected the
remaining issues and adjusted our final statement at my urging. We are happy
with the end result, however were left feeling very disappointed with the
overall management of our project. We feel that
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was not proactive. We
had to bring items to their attention time and time again and stay on top of
them until they were done properly. It was also disappointing that we almost
sacrificed our design because they didn’t take the time –ahead of time- to
understand what we were looking for.

"The contractor visited to assess the job within a few days of our telephone call after which he brought subcontractors to review his findings and confirm the plan of action. He explained their assessment of the cause and their plan to repair it. They completed the work quickly and efficiently. They maintained a very neat work area and didn't leave any mess or debris. The repair looks wonderful. I very much appreciated the ongoing communication and updates that Bill continued to provide as the work progressed.

"In mid 2012 we engaged
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to add a 200+ sq. ft. extension to the rear portion of our single story bungalow-style 1950's home in order to enlarge the master bedroom and closet and add a master bath. The work was to be performed while we were at our second home in Florida, so there would be no direct supervision.

Guy and
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
(his construction supervisor for this job) spent considerable time with us in the design phase, and is certainly the most detail-oriented contractor we had ever worked with - everything is spelled out in writing. We agreed to go ahead and signed the contract in October, with work to begin as soon as weather permitted in early spring(
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very cautious about weather as there would be a period of time when the home would be open to the elements).
Work began in earnest in mid February, and was essentially completed (except for the items that required us to be in town) by late
April, well within the time estimated by
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. During this phase
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
contacted us by E-mail basically every day that something was being done on the house, sending pictures when appropriate and
responding immediately to questions or suggestions.
We returned to Indiana at the end of May. The work was very well done, and everything was as expected except for one major issue:
When we designed the addition we wanted it to look as much as possible as if it had always been there, and
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was fully on board, making suggestions for items that were no longer available due to the age of the house. The house had aluminum siding (in reasonable if not great shape) with a smooth finish and an 8" overlap, and we thought it was understood that the new addition would have
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
-plank with the same lap and smooth finish (aluminum or vinyl siding is not readily available in that size anymore). The actual result was that we got 8" wood-grain siding which only gives a 6" overlap. The contract does state 8" siding but I and
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
interpreted that differently. I am sure if we had been on site during the work we would have caught this and it would have been no problem.
The difference was noticeable but not dramatic.
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very understanding and offered a solution that would work for both parties - he would reside the entire rest of the house with the
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
-plank to match the addition, with us only paying his price for the materials with no labor charge. This was agreeable to us and we went ahead. The siding now looks great, everything matches, and it will last a lot longer than we will!
The bottom line is:
I would recommend
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
without hesitation to anyone looking for a remodelling or construction contractor. The fact that we were able to do this without being on site and have it go so smoothly is pretty amazing.

Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was knowledgeable about all areas and offered sound advice."

"The process was better than we could had hoped.
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very helpful in providing ideas on how to best use the space and the pricing process was quite reasonable. The "base" price for the project include finishing and materials that we as good if not better than what can be found throughout the rest of our home. The project got off the ground promptly and was completed quickly."

Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. did an outstanding job overall with our projects. They initially came out and gave us an estimate as well as designed a computer based simulation of what the basement would look like when completed. Their estimates were in line with what we expected and they made us feel very comfortable from the beginning of the entire process. We met directly with the owner who outlined the project and developed a timeline of expected completion dates on certain phases of the project. The great thing about
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
is the direct contact you have with the owner as well as his continued involvement in the entire process. You will also have his direct staff completing nearly all of the work in your home. The owner and his entire staff are very professional, polite, hard-working and always on time daily. As for the work we had completed, all was done in a timely manner and the quality of the work appears to be outstanding after a couple of months removed of everything being completed. I would highly suggest you consider using
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for any projects you may have. I don't see any reason to believe you would ever be disappointed in choosing to use this great local small business.

"The initial consultation was very good because areas for repair were discussed in a manner that I could understand. Two or three alternatives were offered for repairs with pros and cons for each alternative and an indication of the cost difference. They also offered a couple opportunities to help to reduce the cost by doing some work ourselves, such as priming the siding before it was attached to the house.

The work was done in a timely manner and the workers were conscientientious about space on the driveway and appearance of the yard overnight. The finished product looks very nice.

Cuppy did an excellent job of coordinating the subs. She handled the ups and
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
in a very responsive and professional manner. We had an unexpected cost increase due poor communication from one sub. The other sub was a month late delivering a few final touch items.
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
took care of these problems quickly and in a fair manner. All other subs were great. Communication with
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was always timely and complete.
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Cuppy has high standards of craftsmanship which exceeded our expectations and he expects that from his suppliers. He built a custom entertainment center that was exactly to specification with high craftsmanship.
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
will finish whatever basement you want in a high quality manner. The cost was higher than other quotes, but the value obtained was well worth it. They have a great group of workers that work on one project only until it is done (no diverting to other jobs during the project). I highly recommend
Zionsville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for basement finishing or re-modeling.
