    NEVER do business with these people. I really wanted to support local business and purposely passed on better offers at the "big box" stores when I bought a spare refrigerator for my garage one year ago. They were really rude at the store when I bought the unit but, hey, I don't have to live with them. They sold me a used frig which they swore was in brand new condition. It was for my garage so I just needed something simple that worked.Now, literally, ONE YEAR after my purchase the compressor goes out. The cost to repair is the cost of a new frig so I ask them what they will do to help me out. I didn't want the world. Maybe free labor on a new compressor or a couple hundred off a new frig. I was willing to work with them and thought they would want a happy customer. Their answer...we'll do nothing. Not only that, Mr Smith, who came out to diagnose the problem told me "They have enough customers" and that they didn't care that I wasn't going to be among them. Fine. I'll buy from Sears and hope Smith Appliance goes out of business. That kind of service after the sale no one needs.

    Discovered my oven wouldn't work on the afternoon of prior day. 1st thing in the am on 3/22, called for service, explaining that we were in a bind because this was our DIL's 21st bday and a special request had been made of me to bring special cupcakes. We were told there were 2 people in front of us but they would do everything they could to get to us. We heard nothing more from them. I stayed available (not working) that day and the following. My husband called Friday to find out when we might expect them and they were busy with one of their servicemen on vacation but they would get to us before the weekend. Monday morning, we still heard nothing. I called to see if our service request had gotten lost. Was once again told that they are very busy because one of their service man was on vacation. When I told the lady that we had been told on Friday they would get to us before the weekend, she said they had gotten "two refrigeration calls" and did those. I asked them if they could give us ANY idea of when and that NOW I no longer needed immediate help so I didn't care that it might be awhile and was told that they just didn't know. We feel lied to because with short staffing, they had to have known that they couldn't get to us that first day and I could have taken steps to at least try to find someone to make the repair in time to not be able to do the special cupcakes - she only turned 21 one time, after all. We feel lied to again when we were told they'd get to us before the weekend and when they could not do so, they should have at least called. If I hadn't called Monday morning, I wasn't given any reason to believe they would have called us about delays and I would have spent yet another day not working. Being overwhelmed with service requests is understandable, but it is extremely poor customer service to string us along with no communication. We will NEVER do business with this company again (and we have purchased appliances from them in the past.)
