    Drs. Kintner, Shearer, and Rhinehart
He's a friend of the family. He's friendly, efficient and thorough. I think he's quite thorough more so than you might find in the optical. The office is pleasant. The staff is friendly. The facility is clean, modern and up to date. They give you help when you're trying out your new glasses springs. They have a wide range cost for the different frames.

    Robbins-Winters, Dr. Linnea M.
There isn't a better and quot;eye doctorand quot; in this area. I had been going to another local office for 20 years and, while the optometrist I regularly saw was great, the business office became a barrier to the care the doctors delivered, and the practice made it very clear that patients were only dollar signs to them. Dr. Robbins and the clinical/office staff made me feel like a person, treated me like I was important, spent time with me, answered every question I had, and never once made me feel rushed, forgotten, or unvalued. Seeing as how medical offices are businesses, I'll include the prices are very reasonable, and the staff is very friendly and professional.

They did answer some questions but did not want to give too much information until you come in for a consultation. I had to call again to get my packet of information because it was not sent out promptly.

    Svatos, Dr. Tara L
We've used her before and at the beginning, she didn't take our insurance but now she does. She's personable, thorough and she tells you everything that you need to know. Their glasses are a little expensive. Probably, the only drawback is that their frames and things are pretty expensive. Aside from that, they have a great staff and they're very thorough.

    C&B Optical One Mishawaka
Things did not go well. The exam seemed fine but when I picked up my new glasses something was wrong. I tried them out for a couple days but they gave me a headache and I couldn't wear them. One eye seemed out of focus. When I went back they discovered the left lens was wrong. It was not clear if the prescription was wrong, the person who took the order made a mistake, or the lab screwed up. The person helping me didn't seem interested in finding out what was up but sort of blamed the optician's handwriting. I did get my glasses fixed and I like them, but this is the second time in a row that I have had a problem at C&B Optical so I'm not going back.

The physician was adequate, but did not listen to my past history (sensitive eyes). I wanted more of the same contacts I had been using, but he insisted I try a new brand and call back if I didn't like them. I could barely see to drive home, and they felt horrible. I wore them for two days, then called back to get a prescription for the previous lenses I first requested. The office sent me the wrong prescription three times.
They also automatically scheduled the next annual appointment for a year later WITHOUT TELLING ME. I did not find out until I received two mailed letters and three voice mails reminding me of my appointment. I called four times to cancel the appointment but kept receiving reminder phone calls. I finally gave up, just stopped calling, and didn't go to the appointment. Thankfully I was not billed. I will never return to this facility.

Found a set of frames I liked there several years ago. I was skeptical about HD progressives at the time so I got standard bifocals. After 2 years of wear with no scratches I decided they know what they are talking about and opted for HD progressives for my new prescription. Glad I did I am fully satisfied.

    Advanced Ophthalmology of MIchiana
Our experiences at Advanced Opthalmology of Michiana have always been uneventful (nothing to complain about!). Everything goes smoothly from the appointment through the billing. We have never had to wait overly long in the office, and Dr. Gerber and the entire staff are pleasant and helpful. They listen carefully to what we say and communicate well about our vision situations. They seem to have our best interest at heart. I haven't yet used their optical shop, but I intend to this time, since I have had trouble with progressive lenses purchased from a mall optical shop and Dr. Gerber assures me that he will personally take care of any issues I may have with lenses purchased through them. The reason I gave a "B" for availability is only that I have to schedule appointments far in advance.

    C&B Optical One Mishawaka
I have had so many bad experiences with this branch of C&B Optical One that I am finally submitting a review on them. At my most recent visit, I arrived on time for what I had noted was a 10 AM appointment for a fairly simple contact lens check. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked why I had not yet been seen as it was not busy. I was told my appointment was actually for 10:20. I am sure the person who made it told me it was 10 AM, but let's suppose it was 10:20. I was admitted to the exam room. At 10:45, I asked again why I had not been seen. This was between 25 and 45 minutes after my scheduled time, depending on whom you believe. I was told the other patient was taking a really long time. I said I would be leaving in 10 minutes if I was still not seen. At 10:55 I left, not having seen the doctor. By their account, this was still 35 minutes after my exam time. They never called back to try to reschedule or apologize.

Over the six years that I used this branch, I have almost always experienced very long waits. The confusion over my last appointment time made me wonder if they don't tell people a time that is earlier than the true appointment slot. Prior to my last visit, I waited 40 minutes after my appointment time and was finally seen after threatening to leave. On another visit, I was given a new glasses prescription that was wrong. The lenses I ordered had to be re-made after the incorrect prescription gave me headaches.

I have been kept waiting regardless of the doctor. I think this is branch-wide problem, and that this one has major problems with organization and quality. I have not used the other C&B branches, so I am reluctant to extend this criticism to them, but I definitely recommend any place other than the Grape Road C&B.

    Susan Park MD
She is a very good eye doctor. She and her staff are just pleasant people. She is very good. She is the one that referred me to another eye doctor for laser surgery. The office environment is good. The staff is very nice.
