    Steel Family Health Care Center
They have an average waiting room and also a pharmacy and a limited lab for blood work and X-rays. Staff is very nice. Unless it has changed, they only do physicals on weekends and you have to wait months sometimes to get an appointment as the clinic is only open until noon on Saturdays. Pharmacy is closed last Saturday of every month. Unless this has changed, physicians will only deal with 2 problems per visit. Waiting times can be up to an hour. Billing and administration are excellent. Despite the drawbacks, I am satisfied.

    Robinson, Dr. David A.
It went very well. Dr. Robinson met with me and did not seem rushed or hurried. He took the time to review my casr to deytermine if I was a viable client for the procedure. He explained the process and the laser they use. Answeted any questions I haf without making me feel stupid. I then donnee the safety items and they began the use of the laser. My comfort and pain tolerances were monitored throughout. At the end they massaged the area with products to keep the stinging ay bay. The checkout process went qquickly, and no one tried to upsell more treatments or products.

    Geeta, Dr. Manjeet
My insurance changed and I had to find another doctor in the area. I like the doctor but I am not sold on the office. They sometimes lose information but they go out of their way to help you. I really like the doctor and he has really helped both my wife and daughter; both of whom have serious illnesses. Communication is sometimes difficult because she does speak a foreign language. I will use them again in the future.

He has been my Urologist for many years, and is the best in all of Northwest Indiana, period. Trust me on that. I have seen many Urologists in the area, have had bad experiences with a couple. Until Dr. Wilks retires, I will see no other Doctor for urological issues. He is, bar none, the most knowledgeable, spends a great deal of time with his patients, and has a fabulous bed side manner. In 1999, during a routine visit while I was admitted to the Hospital, he literally saved my life by finding that I had stage four bladder cancer which was unbeknownst to me the time and unrelated to my hospital stay. He referred me to a Doctor friend of his at Northwestern Medical School, Chicago, who performed what is called an "Indiana Pouch" and, well, the rest is history, and for the past eleven years I have been in very good health. I can't sing the praises of Dr. Wilks enough. I have the utmost respect and admiration for him.

    Kenneth Blumenthal DO
We have been seeing Dr. Blumenthal since August 2009. I could not ask for a better doctor. My daughters allergies and asthma were under control within 2 months. We haven't had any severe flare-ups and she now rarely uses her rescue inhaler. Maybe once every 5-6 months. Before she was using it 5-6 times a week. His bedside manner is great. He always makes my daughter laugh and spends time with us. I have never felt rushed or as if my questions weren't answered. He has a terrific nurse who does allergy testing and gives allergy shots. I am very happy with his entire staff at the Portage office.

    Ashwani Kumar MD
He over prescribed medications. His waiting room is poorly lit and staffed, especially when you are having to deal with wheelchairs. He is good at explaining things because he actually draws them out. He seems disconnected with the patients. I think that is because he has too many of them. He specializes in specific insurance patients.

When calling at first to make an appointment to see the doctor, it was very difficult to get an appointment. It was only after telling them that this was a follow up from being seen in the emergency room that they were able to find an opening. When we arrived, we also spent about an hour waiting to actually see the doctor. When we did finally see her, it was brief and very unattentive. It was okay as well as doctors appointments go, but I would have expected better.

The wait was over one hour to see the doctor. When I informed the staff that I could wait just 15 minutes more before I had to leave, the doctor came into the exam room and told me that I should expect a long wait in any gynecologist's office. She assured me that an hour was not unreasonable. Once I asked to begin the appointment instead of debating the subject of appointment times, she then began to examine me. She informed me of the procedure she wanted to do immediately, without first explaining anything. I had to assert myself and ask questions to become involved in the decision making process concerning my care.
