Kerry Wilson is nothing but a con artist.   He did not have materials or staff to perform necessary work.  He not only did not pay subcontractors but went so far as to forge the subs names on checks he placed into his own personal account.
Despite having been paid, he told his workers and subcontractors that he had not seen a dime from me.  The reaction of his employees was to go into my home and instead of continuing repairs, they vandalized it -- writing on the walls with a Sharpie marker, nails all over the laminate floor.
Kustom Homes by Kerry now does business as Wilson General Contracting & Consulting.  Prior to that it was K&M Builders -- next year it'll have another name.   It's all the same person - Kerry Wilson, who has set up multiple construction corporations over the past six years.  He changes corporate names to relieve himself of liability for defective work and warranties.
Despite having been paid over $46,000, nothing done at my home is warrantied and I have had to continuously deal with the defective, shoddy workmanship and have had to pay other contractors to finish work Wilson was paid to do and failed to complete.
Kerry Wilson quit the work at my home via email (yes, in writing),on approximately April 23, 2013, then filed a lien against my home stating he was there May 17 for work he had proposed, but never even initiated to put on a "show" for the subcontractors he did not pay with the monies he received.
Fortunately I had cancelled checks and bank records, in addition to his email acknowledgments of payments -- however, he literally left about $25,000 in damages to my home.

Kerry Wilson has used a handful of business names including Kustom Homes by Kerry; Wilson General Contracting & Consulting LLC, K & M Builders, etc. Basically, he dissolves the companies and reincorporates under new names to get out of warranty work. Please see Wilson General Contracting & Consulting to see how he left my home in shambles, failed to pay subcontractors and even forged the subcontractor's names keeping pocketing payments. He was paid approximately $46,000 and failed to finish $25,000 of proposed work, paying himself for work never done, nor did he ever have intention of performing. I have emails from him admitting he had no "tapers" available to do dry wall work, yet he was charging me thousands of dollars for drywall work. He said the money was owed because I accepted the proposal (and then I had to pay others to do the dry wall work.) The list goes on. He also lied to me about having used licensed plumbers, whom I called for problems which arose only to find out he never hired them. Again -- NO WARRANTY. $6,000+ for plumbing and no warranty because Wilson's unlicensed son in law messed it up.

Wilson, I later learned, had filed a bankruptcy in 2010 after stockpiling building materials.  Despite having paid for NEW items to be bought to my choosing, Kerry Wilson brought unmatched scrap to my home using it even after I told him specifically not to use said items.
Kerry Wilson was unable to retain professional subcontractors for the necessary drywall work.   His project manager told me no one would work for him.   Therefore, I had to scramble and attempt to do the drywall work in a home with no water as he also was unable to get a plumber to do the work.   I learned all this after the fact.   We were living in a hotel and
Wilson also used unlicensed, laborers to perform plumbing work which has since caused further damage to my home.  He charged over $7000 for the work related to the plumbing, telling me I couldn't bring in anyone else since he had already obtained permits.   (I later learned he had not obtained proper permits for the plumbing work.)   When we moved back into our home, we discovered he had uncapped a sewer line,  lost the cap and chose to shove rags into the line to stop leaks.   I have photographs of all of this.   The City later had him send a plumber here, but due to the man's size, he was unable to fit into the opening for our crawl space and no inspection or work was done to fix this issue where in when we use our wash machine now, water leaks (heavy) from the base of a toilet in the next room.  He had to readjust the drain work ourselves, despite this man having received all this money for the same.
Further, he had no vehicle to pick up materials which were needed at my home, and I had to purchase the flooring and other items, bring them to the home on weekends, etc.  Wilson billed me for this service and for thousands of dollars in items I have receipts for having had to purchase myself.
We were living in a hotel, working and coming to the home in the evening attempting to clean and keep the workflow going.  He refused to remove the charges for drywall work from his bill, despite that I had to pay other do to the work.  He had even sent me an email stating he "had no tapers."
In late April 2013, Kerry Wilson took a check from my home for over $14,000 which named myself, Kerry Wilson and a subcontractor stating he was going to get the other subcontractors' signature.   I later learned he not only signed the other contractors name, but told that gentleman that he had not seen a dime from me.   I contacted my bank and learned he had also done this with previous checks.   He was telling everyone, including his employees, that he had not seen a dime from me despite having been paid approximately $40,000.  He simply kept ALL money for work he  had not even performed, hired others to do and won't accept responsibility.
Kerry Wilson quit when I refused to pay him the balance of monies owed until the work was actually completed and we reviewed all this "work scopes."   In numerous instances, he presented me with proposals for additional work, which included duplicates of tasks listed and previously paid.
I made numerous attempts to resolve this matter with Kerry Wilson and filed a complaint against his General Contractor license with the City of Portage Indiana.   In follow up, I later learned that the City Building Commissioner dropped my complaint based on information given to him by Kerry Wilson that I had filed a complaint in court.  I did not file any such complaint, instead choosing to FIRST deal with his general contractor license and stop him from doing further business within the City of Portage, Indiana.   Further, after reviewing his bankruptcy filing from 2010, it is obvious the man used my money to pay his own personal expenses which he reaffirmed (such as a $43,000 Lexus).
Wilson also recorded a falsified lien upon my home stating that he was hired by State Farm Insurance and had performed work on May 17, 2013.  His email clearly states he quit in mid April, 2013.   He filed this lien after providing me with lien waiver for the monies paid to him.   This was all part of his con game and attempts in further lying to the City of Portage officials, who never contacted me for follow up or confirmation
Kerry Wilson refused to return to my home to meet with me and inspect the slop and damage done by his employees.  To date, he has NOT paid subcontractors and I have had to personally pay some individuals who came to me directly when Wilson didn't pay them.  I have paid twice, not only to Wilson, but to those individuals.  I simply cannot cover everything twice and money is still owed to subcontractors.

Worst contractor experience we have ever had.  Do your reserach and check references, check the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List.  Spend a little more and get a good contractor.
