Fence Company reviews in Plainfield

I had a great service experience with John Schott. I had already taken down about 25 fence panels, and just needed assistance taking down some of the remaining posts and hauling away the materials. John was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. He showed up for the job on time, was very friendly and did the work well and in a timely manner. Overall, a great experience for me as John did great work. I would highly recommend his business to others.

It went well.  The contractor was on my property when he said he would be.  I made a change at the last minute to have a fence installed on the east side of my property.  It was not a problem.  The fence was installed and the old taken out.  Great job with the quality of work.  I am impressed!

Adam came out to provide the quote in mid-August 2014. I had three quotes altogether and K&M was the best quote. By 8/24/14, I accepted the contract and fence was installed within two weeks as promised. Job was completed on time within two days and they did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. After having the fence now for over a year, there is one post that is crooked, but not sure what can be done about that. Otherwise, the fence still looks good. I would recommend spending the extra money to have the guys stain it vs. doing it yourself.

Originally received a quote in October, but decided to wait until spring to get a fence installed after HOA said we couldn't do the first one due to the height.  Bob was very informative of the whole fence install process and gave us a lot of information to make our decision.  They were very competitive with another fence company quote.  This spring we called them back after deciding on a different style fence.  Setting up the install with Janice went very well and fence was installed on the date we decided on.  Install went well and the fence looks great!

Right from the beginning, Craig from Cedar Creek was amazing. He came out very quickly to do the estimate and was super knowledgable about all things fencing. He was able to answer all of my questions and was really helpful. Once we decided to go with them they were able to work with our schedule and get us an install date that worked for us. They adapted to the changes I wanted and even called with a reminder the week before. The guys who came to do the work were very nice and professional. We had some issues come up but they were able to roll with it and make it work. The fence is beautiful and so much nicer than I could have imagined. We are so happy that we went with them. They really were able to give me exactly what I wanted and were extremely nice in the process. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I'm very happy. It is sturdy, even though it is a windy area. They took time to measure. I mapped out exactly what I anted this design to look like, and they made sure everything was straight, even, and aligned.

We requested options for using treated wood as well as composite.   We were also interested in having a gas line installed along with a gas fire pit.   Their professionalism and turn around time on getting us the estimates were impressive but the prices were just too high.   I have no doubt they would do a quality job but their prices were the highest out of all the contractors that we had come out.   An 18' x 23' deck without the gas lines & fire pit was going to cost over $9,200.   Switching to composite, adding the gas line & fireplace increased the cost to over $21,000.   The vendor that we decided to go with will do the composite deck (minus the gas line & fireplace) for less than Hittle quoted for the treated deck.

Overall, the work of these handymen was unsatisfactory.   Early on, we were well pleased with the installation of the flag pole because the pole was truly perpendicular and solidly set.  But that changed, several months later, when we tried to lift it from its base.  According to the manufacturer’s design, the unit was designed for easy removal, i.e. lifting out of its sleeve for occasional servicing.  Instead of our being able to lift and slide it easily from this sleeve, we had to dig and cut the pole, and its sleeve, below ground level for its ultimate removal and replacement.  Completely new installation was required.   As for the bathroom exhaust fans, they should not have accepted this chore, because their efforts and ultimate results were disastrous. 1) loose-fill-insulation falling freely and continually into the areas below, and 2) their having walked on and smashed existing heating/air-conditioning ducts, 3) fan’s lights not working.  Ultimately, upon our engaging the services of professionals, the situation was resolved with adding two new ducts for the fans, complete with appropriate duct-adapters; new ducts to replace the damaged ducts; proper electrical hook-up.   As for tightening the heating/air-conditioning vents, we ultimately acquired the services of professionals to have them fastened appropriately and acceptably.   Overall, most of the work these men did for us had to be redone at considerable extra cost, inconvenience, effort, and aggravation.   In closing, I recommend hiring a handyman, who does the work himself, rather than a handyman service.

They came for estimate on sidelight repair. The lady on the phone explained how the system works (owner buys materials, handyman performs work). John the person that was coming called me to find out if he could come earlier as his other appointment as finished. That was convenient
for me. He showed up promptly and evaluated my work , explained pricing and he indicated that the
work was beyond the scope of what they could do. They get an A because from call to visit it worked as it should. John was terrific showing to me what were some of the areas of concerns and it was true as I found out later, the materials for this repair seem to not be available anywhere. So next time I need another handyman, I'll give them a call.

Overall the fence looks great.  The price was the best of 4 quotes.  The only issue is that he said he would be there the day they start the fence and make sure the process goes smoothly.  They just showed up one day and set the posts.  We didnt know they were coming.  A few days later they showed up and completed the fence.  Again to our surprise.  He didnt even stop by once they were done and pick up the final payment, one of his workers did.  He said he was all about customer service and making sure we knew what was going on.  This did not happen
