They would not waive the disconnect fee, even if they knew they didn't contact me for a new expiration date of the credit card. There are so many ways they could have reached me but they didn't. They knew I had to pay for the fee because there were no other ways I could get the power back on. This is what happens when there is no competition!

I was very excited to see Zach's website, after viewing him as an approved contractor for a rebate program through my gas company.  He offered duct sealing, and would even complete the paperwork and wait for the check from the gas company rebate without requiring me to pay up front.  This sounded ideal.  He mentioned he is an approved contractor for vectren (my gas company), and all homes could have duct sealing for $400-550.  Again he would not require up front payment, and we would just sign the check over to him from the gas company rebate.  I contacted Zach through his online contact form.  We had some difficulty connecting with each other, which is not his fault, simply due to my difficult to work with schedule.  After speaking with him one day, he told me that my house could not be completed for $400-550, but would be at least $650 based upon the square footage of the house.  (Website has been updated since).  He stated that he was trying to serve homes in the inner city areas, where he could complete at least 2 homes per day because of their size. He not interested in working on my home in Hendricks county, as it would take him too long to complete.  He stated he needed to update the gas companies to show he would prefer to stay in Marion county.  He said he would come out to see my house to give me an accurate quote for duct sealing.  He stated he would text me the following week, so he could get my address and come by for a quote.  We sent text messages the next week, and he was going to plan on stopping by later in the week for a quote.  I never heard from him again, and never saw him for the quote.
    Good things first.
#1.  Zach was very polite.  My interactions with him on the phone were polite.  He understood my hectic schedule, and worked around it to call me at times where I would be available.
#2. Greenducts has many satisfied customers.  I was certain Zach would have done a good job, and I would have been happy with the process had Zach performed the work.  Angie's list proves that he does a good job.  The number 1 reason I contacted
#3.  We all hate rebates.  It is awesome that Zach openly advertises that he will help complete the paperwork, and wait for the check to be signed over, instead of requiring the customers to pay up front.  Again, we all hate rebates.  I have never understood paying money, so I can wait to get the money paid back to me at a later date.  Why not skip that step.  This is the number 2 reason I wanted to use Greenducts.
I was very disappointed in a number of things with his service.
#1. He could not honor the price quoted on his website.  This is just business sense.  Don't post a price if you are not going to honor it.
#2. He notified me it would cost at least $650.  When a contractor states "at least," this is a good clue he doesn't want the work.  He might have too much to do, so obviously didn't want to provide service at my home.  Also, "at least" quotes seem to indicate that you assume your clients do not have the money to pay for your service.  You should probably provide unbiased quotes.  Also, if you don't want the job, just say you don't want the job.  Would have been a lot more professional.
#3. He provided an "at least" quote but never took the time to view my house.  My house has a lot of square footage, but without viewing the duct work, I am not certain how he could provide this "at least" quote.  Again, He obviously didn't want to do the job.
#4. Unprofessional use of advertisements.  To provide your name as a contractor that will perform the work associated with a utility rebate, but not to honor the service area you promised is very frustrating to consumers.  I expected you to be prepared to work in Indianapolis and surrounding counties.  You need to update the utility companies so they can keep their lists accurate and avoid frustrating their customers.
#5. Unprofessional explanation of company goals.  He reported he was more interested in inner city areas where the houses are smaller so he can complete at least 2 homes per day.  Put that on your website.....   Makes your customers feels pretty unappreciated.  We all know you want to make money.  We want you to know that each of our homes matters to us.  We are not just a number.  We pay you to treat our homes like your own.  We should all be treated like we matter to you.
#6. Not showing up / following up.  Zach never followed through on his promise to provide a personalized quote after viewing my house.  He never viewed my house.  He never followed up on our plans.  I felt like it was my responsibility to follow up with him.  I will not pursue contact with someone who I hire to complete a job, especially when they are clear they do not want my business.

Test went very well and very easy. Found that my house was very tight and a few minor problems I needed to fix. Worth the money to know the previous energy savings work I did was working and installed correctly.

Duke Energy performed an evaluation of the energy efficiency of our 25-year old home and cited the need for additional insulation in the attic. Over time, the insulation settled and no longer had the R value we started with.
ABC Roofing came out for an inspection and quoted me a price which I accepted. It was quite a bargain, considering I got a $500 discount for purchasing a $99 promotional coupon from Angie's List.
I liked the guys that did the work...very professional, efficient and tidy!

Contacted the company after purchasing a "Big Deal" and was told that there had to be a significant temperature difference between exterior and interior temperatures to get good imaging. It only took about a week or two to find a day that fit that description -- would be much easier to do in summer or winter. Went throught the house and found some issues to work on -attic access spaces, then he did a negative pressure test (air exchanges) and went back through the house to see if any leaks appeared on the imager. Thermal image photos were taken, the air exchanges recorded, and then he went outside and imaged the exterior of home to find issues. Not long after I received an email with the report and images with descriptions and following that was a hard copy in the mail.
Very professional and helpful evaluation of some of the issues. A great way to see into your walls without ripping them out first. Also this company does not do repairs so he wont try to sell you something extra every 5 minutes, only does the job you hired him to do.
