Door Installation reviews in Plainfield

The entire process of replacing windows and a patio door went well. I felt Factory Direct was a good company that offered fair prices. They were able to install my windows in a timely and professional manner. Also, they have followed up with me since the project was completed to make sure I was still 100% satisfied and that my overall experience with them was great. It was nice to be checked on after the sale.

They had installed a service door about 6 years ago that's starting to fall apart. I've called them 6-7 times and haven't heard back. They say they're moving and will get back to me soon, but never hear anything. The woman who answers the phone is very nice and apologetic, but I'd just like to hear back so I can get this service door repaired. The rating for quality is based on the door, not the installation.

The experience was excellent. They have done a couple of things with me now. They have come back since twice and done other work for me. They are great. They know what they are doing and they are great guys. They work hard and have some good ideas. I trust them; I think they are good carpenters.

First, the salesman was a "typical salesman". Lots of blah, blah. Be prepared. Second, we were told the payment per month would be $64.00 a month...the payment schedule from the lending bank came in at $104.00 a month! A staggering $40.00 difference! What were we to do at this point, have them come remove the new windows? Third, we were asked to pick the vinyl color, I did and I asked for a sample chip be left with me for paint matching. No chip left, and two more requests for the chip were ignored. I matched a vinyl sample that would match the mortar color between the red brick. I was under the understanding that the exterior portion of the windows would match that color chip. When the windows arrived they were all one almond color and I was then told that no, that was my mistake, that I didn't ask for the other color. the salesman said he knows he wrote that down right. Ummm, really. Now I know why the sample chip didn't show up until after the windows were installed. We were also told that the windows would be custom...yep, right off the assembly line...they are not custom anything. Needless to say we are not happy with White Oak and we would not recommend them to anyone else for window service.

Door broke on Sunday night.  I called Nathan at 7:30 am Monday, they promised to get someone out Monday afternoon.  Got a call at 1:05 pm that they'd be there in forty minutes AND THEY WERE!  James and Jeff worked quickly, finishing with 30 minutes.  Door works like new!  They even gave the $25 off Angie's list customer price.
Very courteous, quick, professional and friendly.  Would highly recommend them and will use them in the future.  Very responsive, great price, great service!  THANKS!

Great service from a real craftsman! Brian and his guys are perfectionists on whatever project they take on, taking all the time they need to do the job properly, and for an amazing price. Not only is the quality of their work excellent, but it's just fun having him and Kevin around. I have him returning to replace 2 entire windows in my home office with higher quality ones in a week or two, and am already hoping I have the budget to have him rebuild my deck come spring. This is my new go-to guy!

The job was quoted to take approximately two days, but could go longer.  In all, they finished after three days and left our home the same way they found it.  All debris was cleaned up and a thorough walkthrough was performed to make sure that we completely understood how the windows and doors operated (it wasn't rocket science but was appreciated).
The free estimate meeting went well.  They showed up on time and while the meeting ran a little longer than expected, the salesman was complete in his demonstrations and by the end, we knew we would go with their company.  Uniques windows seem to be high quality and their prices are competitive, but still more than we expected to pay.  To be fair to them and other companies, we had no idea how much this would cost.
The measuring meeting went well and when the gentleman that can out didn't have the color pallet, he returned the next day after work hours and dropped them off on his own time.  This was greatly appreciated.
The first day of work, they showed up right within the 30 minute time window we were originally told.  The gentleman that showed up was alone but made terrific progress and by the end of the day, four of the seven windows were completely out and replaced.  He was courteous to my wife and I and work diligently through the entire day.
The second day, they shows up again, this time with another gentleman.  They both got the remainder of the work done, minus the sliding door that was still on back order and a bit of trim.
The third day they showed up with the sliding door, installed it and finished the time work around the house.  They even offered to help us move the furniture back to it's original location.  Both men that were at our home were professional, courteous and quick.

Because this door gets 95% of our entry/exits from the house, the knob/lock tends to wear out every few years. Our 4 year old could no longer open the door (which might be great news in some households, but not in ours). Jan from Janco was very responsive and professional. The door is working great now.

They were very professional both at the initial appointment and also for the installation. One of the doors came to them wrong so they called me to reschedule the installation. They had a cancelation and called to see if we wanted a sooner date and we took it. The doors are very nice and the salesman and installer were pleasant and professional. We knew what we were getting and how much it would cost and how long the installation would take. We were very pleased.

I bought 2 $99 coupons for 3 man hours of handyman service. In just 3 hours, Steve and his associate installed a new dishwasher (after removing the old one), reinstalled crown molding on top of three kitchen cabinets, installed new quarter round and caulked that and the baseboard in the dining room, cleaned and sprayed silicone on the sliding door track, trimmed patio door so it no longer sticks, and removed an old shower door and installed a new one. These are projects that have been nagging me for a long time and it amazed me how quickly and efficiently Steve and his associate were able to tackle them. I will definitely use Steve again!
