Basement Waterproofing reviews in Plainfield

The owner Dave Tarrance was one of five companies that gave us estimates. Crawlspace Doctor had the best price for the work we wanted done. Dave listened to all our concerns about our crawlspace and offered solutions to help us resolve the issues. During the work he stopped in personally to keep us updated on the progress of the job, which took five days. His crew was very polite and disposed of all debris (old insulation) each night.

They did a fantastic job.  The basement has been dry ever since.  And we've had a lot of rain lately.  Before the job was completed the owner came and helped us squeegee water.  This company did work at my Mother's house about 15 years ago and she's been dry this whole time.

Todd came out to look at our tri-level home which had water coming into basement from crawl space during heavy rains. He told me why water had started coming in after years of a dry basement and explained a solution involving a new sump pump pit and geo-channels to correct the problem.  Jorge and Armando, the technicians, arrived when expected. They were very polite and after I showed them the opening to the crawl space they immediately put down drop clothes to protect my floors.  They went straight to work digging and installing a new sump pump pit with a new sump pump, backup pump and battery backup.  They consulted with me on placement of the pit and where I wanted the water to drain.  They then installed a geo channel to channel water that had come in under the crawl space to the new pit.  They completely cleaned up after the job.  Both technicians were friendly, professional and exceptionally accepting of my puppy who, being a puppy, could be annoying.  I am very happy with the procedures and look forward to a dry basement this year.

Tough to get ahold of them to get someone out here.  They came out.  Surveyed the property and recommended an multi thousand dollar fix.   Seems wierd to have paid $50 for a quote.

It was good. I talked with the owner and I've had him come out because I actually had several issues with them. I was very dissatisfied with their follow up after taking money down and not contacting me to schedule the work. I had to initiate 3 calls to get them to call me. They required a third of the money down which I understand is really standard for that franchise, but that's not typically how I do business. I paid them and we had agreed that we would start work the first of October and they let an entire week go by. I called them on Friday at quarter to 5 and asked them what's going on. They said they were behind. I said, "Pick up the phone and tell somebody that. I was expecting you to be here." He said he was a week behind and I told him he will be calling me the next Friday to let me know they are going to start. He never called the following Friday. I called him again at quarter to 5 on Friday and asked, "Where's my call?" He said they were still a week behind. At that point, I asked to talk to the owner and I did talk to him. He came out here. Everything got resolved, but there were a lot of little issues that I was not very happy with. I was told the work will take 2 days and it ended up with 3. After they got here all the job, they told me it was going to be more, like 4, and that was unacceptable. That was another issue that we had. They did some other things too like they tore out my crawlspace window well which was perfectly good. It was made out of steel and replaced it with a plastic thing, which wasn't in the scope of work. We never talked about that. The workers said that it was leaking water down. It has never leaked water. That crawlspace was bone dry. There has never been any water in that so it was just bogus. It was just something they didn't communicate with their people. I was okay after I talked to the owner but I really don't know if I would recommend them to anybody. I just don't feel good about it. They showed up on time but they never called for 3 weeks, I had to call him. I think they did good work but when they are not calling their customer and let us know stuff especially when I have to call them to schedule work that I have already paid for and I asked them to call me a week later and at quarter to 5 the following week I had to call them again and ask when they are going to call me.

work will be started soon.    first contact was with Marty Manzier and he was very nice and also informative. I hope that the rest of the staff is as nice.  I have heard that they are and am looking forward to meeting them.  I am an elderly lady and depend on the honesty of others and felt that Marty was very honest with me.

The men who made the repairs found it necessary to access the crawl space and defective foundation by coming in the front door of the house and entering the crawl space through the basement.  They were very courteous.  a strong impervious plastic shield was placed on the flooring that led to the basement. The men wore shoe covers to help protect the flooring, also.  All foundation repair materials (cement, rebar, builders bricks, steam treated wood beams, etc.), plus all the waterproofing material were carried in the house and down to the basement without damaging any carpeting, flooring or walls.  The repairs and revisions took about 3  hours to accomplish.
These men were punctual and correctly estimated the time involved for the repairs.
The manner in which the repairs were described to me made sense and were easily understood.  The person who initially sold the repairs and revisions to me was not demanding or pushy.  He was just matter of fact and his estimate for the job matched the actual cost.

I paid for the service for son and daughter-in-law.  My daughter-in-law was the only one home at the time the owner of the company came to inspect their basement.  She was very impressed with him, he was very polite and professional and told her what they could do to prevent the leaking in their basement.  She would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Indiana Foundations promptly set up an appointment, sent us the information/resume on the representative that was coming to inspect our house.  He showed up on time and was very professional.  He inspected the crawl space, external walls, and internal walls.  He told us that our house needed extensive push piers because the front corner of the house was sliding away from the rest of the house.  The proposal was VERY expensive.  Given his confidence that this was the problem and that it sounded very 'scary', we placed a $100 deposit to get on the schedule.
Because it was so expensive, we decided to get a second opinion.  This particular inspector said that the main beam was sagging causing the floor to sag.  This company didn't do this type of repair, but thought that the work would be much less expensive to fix.
So we decided to get a third opinion since the two evaluations were so different.  The third company concurred with the second evaluation.  Again his company did not do this type of repair work, but pointed us to another firm.  They fixed our floors with a lot of reinforcing of beams and joists.  Nothing to do with push piers. Our floor is now level.
I will say that the company was very prompt in returning our deposit when we cancelled our order.
I would be very hesitant to trust their opinion because I don't think the work they recommended would have even fixed our problems - at a very high cost.

A & D provides excellent service. Finding your basement full of water is very stressful and even during a high demand weekend with a long list of stressed out costumers, they were patient, comprehensive in their explanations of what their service covered and right on point about the ballpark cost. The crew worked really hard during the first afternoon to make sure that all the steps were taken so the damage to the property would be contained, they were friendly, clean and thorough. In the following day they came back to check on the progress of the dry out property. They were always punctual and flexible, they always tried to work around to work our schedule.
