Auto Shop reviews in Plainfield

I waited while the service was completed. I was less than a mile from the store, when as I pulled away from a stoplight, I felt the back of my truck slip. I pulled over immediately, and the left rear wheel was nearly off the studs. There were NO lug nuts on the rim at all. I immediately called the store and told them what happened. They said "Well can you just limp it back to the shop?" I told them of course not!!! They called a tow truck, and the wheel was so close to being off, that we had to jack up my truck to push it back on so it could be towed, and had to take lug nuts from my other rims. When we got back to the shop, they said there was nothing they could do about it today, because they were about to close. I asked if they had torqued the lug nuts to spec. Their reply was they didn't have a torque wrench so they had put them back on with an impact wrench. They told me the guy who had the torque wrench wasn't working that day and wouldn't be in until tomorrow. The rim was ruined, and the studs were stripped. It took them 2 days to get the parts to do the repair. In the meantime, they gave me their older truck to drive. When I returned to get my truck, I was not offered a discount or to refund my money. They didn't even give me my money back for gas I had to put in their truck! They would not give me back the damaged rim, studs or lug nuts that I asked to keep. Since I thought it was a Goodyear store, iI called Goodyear corporate, but was told that Goodyear doesn't stand behind this dealer, they only stand behind their tires. Goodyear said they have nothing to do with the operation or service of that shop. The shop was just authorized to sell Goodyear tires. I went to this location because the signage indicated it was a Goodyear shop, therefore I assumed it was reputable. The shop did fix the problem, but what "tire shop" doesn't have a torque wrench, or at least tell a customer they cannot do a rotate and balance until the following day when they do have one? Additionally, when lug nuts are put on with a torque wrench and are torqued too tight, my rotors could have been damaged! Is this just a ploy to make customers return a few months later so they have to replace the rotors?? Thank God my wife and I weren't out on the interstate when the wheel came off, or I hate to think of what could have happened!!

Better than we could have hoped! The following afternoon we received a call from Avon Transmission. They discovered the problem wasn't with the transmission but rather faulty wiring. Total cost just over $300! Problem fixed.

Campfield's Auto Repair is a great auto repair shop. I have been taking my vehicles to Dave Campfield for many years and they have never let me down. It is priceless to have such a trustworthy and skillful mechanic in town. I continue to recommend him to all my friends and family.

It took less than an hour.  Workers were very friendly and knowledgeable.  They said I needed a new battery.  They have taken care of our cars since the mid 80s.  They have always done an excellent job.  I don't know what we would have done without them.

We have always serviced our cars through them since we moved here in the mid 80s.  They have always done an excellent job.  When my car runs out of warranty I will go back to them again.  They are quick.  I would sit and wait and be in and out in an hour or less.  One time, one of them, earlier in the Spring, my car battery went dead and I called them first and one of the guys was leaving for his lunch and stopped over and got my car going.  He just jumped it for me and did not charge me for it.

I usually use R & M; they're in Plainfield. They just do maintenance work on cars and they're excellent mechanics. I would grade them A all the way. I've been using them for years. My car takes synthetic oil, so it was a little more expensive because of that.

Took my Ford vehicle into the service department for a simple warranty repair. In the last 2.5 weeks they had me return 4 times and each time had a different excuse ranging from wrong part ordered, part needed to go to paint shop, after one week paint shop still did not paint part, part came back from paint shop but needed to be repainted. I understand that stuff happens, but the service advisor didn't even have the decency to make one call instead having me show up continuously wasting my time. Notifying the Service Manager and General Manager was also a waste of time. No one seems to care at this dealership.

On 2/2/2017, I requested for an appointment at 4:30 PM on 2/3/2017 using MIDAS.COM website. When I did not hear anything till 10:00 AM from the shop I called up the shop and I was told to come anytime after 3:00 PM. When I reached there, I was just refused service and was told that they could not take me in for another 2 days. With this kind of rude and useless service I will not step into this shop any more.

All my previous eight car purchases except one have been through a franchised dealership and the experiences were all about the same, not overly negative or positive. From time to time I check various auto websites just to see what is out there. I discovered Luxury Auto Depot had, in my opinion, a real gem. I contacted them and spoke to Hernan. That was the start of a very positive relationship and one I do not feel I could ever have received from a franchised dealer and certainly one I have never had in my past experiences with purchasing a car. Working with Hernan was like a breath of fresh air in regards to the entire buying process and especially the personal attention I received after the sale. Hernan was very accommodating and I felt I got honest answers upfront to all my questions. He also went above and beyond to make my buying experience by far the most positive I have ever had and has earned my respect as both a person and a businessman. I will, without question, be a return customer. How Luxury Auto Depot conducts business and treats its customers should be held up as examples for dealerships of all sizes.

Oh it worked out fine. It was good that was a good offer.

I think they were some what limited because they did it on site and if they had a garage to work out of and took the vehicle there it probably would result in a better job overall.
