It went great! Tom was so helpful in explaining the process and helping with suggestions. He listened to what I wanted and made it happen. The installers were very nice and very professional. They were in and done in three days.

It was an awesome experience. Jim was very thorough and precise. He arrived when he said. Quietly worked and did a great job. He began by removing the doors off the cabinets and took them to his home to do, then came to our house and was done in les then a week. A very professional and respectful man. We would refer him to anyone wanting to save money by not buying new cabinets, because ours look original.

The insurance company recommended them. They come in and give an estimate and tell us what they need to do. They didn’t rush us. They were very reasonable with the price. They came quickly and they were here in a few hours. Two people came out and gave us an estimate, and it wasn’t high pressure or anything like that, which I liked. They come in a truck, and if I don’t want it, they just leave. We wanted to get it done, so they started the whole process right there.  They were quick response and gave us a good estimate and stuck with it, so we were happy with them. The insurance company reimbursed us with the cost because they were able to prevent major damage. They are certified. I was very happy with them. I wouldn’t know how to compare them but, considering what we were facing because we had major cabinet damage and floor damage, so I thought that they were reasonable. They will actually do the rebuild if I want to but we wanted to go ahead and replace the cabinets. The salesman was nice. They had a follow up call and came back a few days later to check on things.

    The Painting Edge
Finally! A home improvement project that turned out so well, it actually exceeded our expectations! Todd was a pleasure to work with. He was the most organized contractor I have ever worked with. He returned all calls immediately, and communicated with us throughout the week long job to let us know what would be happening next. His crew did an excellent job and took care of some difficult problem areas in the bathroom and bedroom. When they left, the house was immaculate. The job started and finished exactly on time which was important to us because we had other contractors scheduled before and after. We can highly recommend The Painting Edge and will use them in the future.

I probably would not hire them again. They had a one guy crew most days and he was on the phone a lot with his ex-wife. They came in everyday so I had to work from home while they' were working. They were nice guys and I really liked them but they just had to take very long. They tore up the kitchen and we didn't have a kitchen for a few months so we washed dishes in the bath tub and we had our pantry in the garage. We were living that way for a few months and it was pretty tough. When I talked to some other people about how their service was with other companies, it wasn't even close. They charged me $10,000.00 for the dry out which was really expensive. It was itemized in the bill and the insurance company questioned that but they paid it and it was for a broken pipe, the water line coming from the refrigerator. They took forever and they kept ordering the wrong cabinets and wanted me to pay for the ones they ordered incorrectly. It was just a mess. I don't need their services right now but if I did, I 'd probably call a different company. We had a bar counter behind the kitchen sink, for a bar stools, and it was a half-wall. Then there was this sub-contractor who was hired to finish the kitchen and the half-bath, who was supposedly a carpenter by trade, after he installed the bar countertop there was a two-inch heigth sloping difference between the wall and where the countertop ended and you could put a ball on it and watch it roll. When I questioned it, he said, "Oh, that's not acceptable?" And I replied, "No". We bought a new countertop and the "carpenter" screwed the mounting screws right through the counter top. He was mad because we asked him use his insurance to replace it. He said that he was insured and he actually showed up on the day that we got the replacement countertop and he grabbed the "screwed through" countertop and said, "This is mine! I paid for it!" He was just being really difficult and I said, "Well, you're welcome to it. It's not like I was going to use it for anything." They just did the best they could and I think it was just above their capability. I think they tried and that was the sad part. After we paid everything, we got a bill 2 years later saying we still owed money. I talked to the owner about that and he was kind enough to correct the billing issue. I'm just glad to have that part of my life over with. My wife and I did a lot of re-work and repainted a lot of it ourselves after the work was "complete".

Dean was  punctual for the appointment times at our home. On one occasion he had not completed work at his present location and called me to reschedule. I appreciated that gesture. His prices are fair and his workmanship impeccable.  He has a professional manner.  I would recommend him to friends.

    Rickleff Sons & Daughters Painting
Steve and his crew painted the majority of our first floor -- family room, kitchen, eating area, garage entry hallway. Tricky areas for me to paint, with all of the trim and cabinets we have. I had started priming/painting some of it, but quickly realized that at the pace I was going it was going to take me weeks -- and we had a deadline. I found Steve through a deal on Angies List and he came and quoted me for the job. He was very responsive via email (my preferred communication method), and made adjustments in his schedule so they could come get the painting done before our party. They managed to finish it all in one day. It was professional work, with only a minor area of complaint that he immediately had someone come touch up the next morning. I'll be hiring Steve to do other difficult painting jobs soon -- like our foyer.

    All Things Carpentry
I found this name on Angie's List, and I am very pleased with the services he provided. He seems to be a one-man operation, but he also seems to know a lot about handyman services. He has lots of tools and lots of other things readily available to get any number of things done quickly. In a matter of about 35 minutes, he beautifully re-nailed the trim on a kitchen cabinet that had been previously installed by a less-than-efficient cabinet maker, saw another area of the same cabinet that was going to need to be re-nailed very soon and did it, glued a piece of shoe mold on yet another area of the cabinetry, and re-glued a piece of shoe mold onto the area around the fireplace. He even spotted another little thing that needed attention and fixed that! All the while, he was smiling and happy. He gave us a price break, too, after driving to Noblesville from Whitestown, because he said the jobs were so simple! What a refreshing attitude from a young man! I would highly recommend All Things Carpentry. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and just plain delightful!

    Hays & Sons
We had a small water leak which continued for some time until it finally shorted our alarm system.  Damage involved our kitchen and dining room floors and walls and lower level bath and bedroom.  Hays performed repair by removing damaged walls and floors, removing undamaged kitchen cabinets and later returning them after replacing floors.  Total time involved was about 6 weeks. One of their subcontractors damaged areas and items which were undamaged by the water and Hays replaced damaged items with new items at their cost without hassle.  They also acted as an intermediary with the insurance company to resolve claim issues.  Their project manager was in frequent contact throughout the repair period and arranged a few extra upgrades we wanted (at our cost).
