Concrete Repair reviews in Newburgh

We wish this review could have been a positive one but sadly that is not the case. Wished we had read reviews before signing contract. It seemed fine at first. The contractor brought his price down from his first quote (later tried to deny it) and we chose him. We were told theyd start about 4 weeks and the whole job would be 3 weeks until finished. We paid 1/3 of price 2 weeks after signing. It was 2 months and 2 weeks before they showed up. They drug this thing out for 6 months! Weather only played a small part in delays. Over time it became very stressful and we regretted our choice. We were lied to and lied about, saying my wife or I agreed to things we did not. There would be 1 to 3 weeks, even a month once, go by with no shows, and /or no contact. A warning to others, get every single thing you are told is in the price, written in the contract. Things were verbally included and then denied that they were part of the contract price. Prices on certain things like metal color; installing windows were verbally said they would only be a couple hundred dollars but were 3 to 4 times more on the bill. Charged over $2000 more on the bill for digging up big tree root, which was never mentioned it would be an added charge on top of prepping the ground. Then, because of ground level, they added wood to back and side of foundation and had to add 6x6 post between barn post because wood bowed out when gravel was poured in garage for fill. Tried to charge us $1200 for that and would not finish until we agreed. We did not. At this point we were done. We had set appointment to talk to our lawyer. We felt we were held hostage for money. This was months of day to day stress. We had ask repeatedly when this would be finished and always, maybe next week would be the answer. While waiting for our appointment, the contractor texted and finally agreed to finish the job and forget about the $1200. Notes: Out of 6 months time we had to delay once for 19 days for the gas co. to move a gas line. We are satisfied with the building and finished concrete work with exception of the wood of the trusses seem to be very cheap quality and the whole process with this contractor. The workers of the subcontractors did their jobs, this review is not about them.

Overall poor attention to detail. Left a lot of debris on site that we were unable to remove ourselves. Didn't put in the correct amount of grip additive so our deck was dangerously slick. Sealer was applied very unevenly which left unsightly roller marks. Owner was difficult to reach and return calls. Also never called to inform us when they would come or not be coming.

We were highly disapointed with the level of poor workmanship, unprofessionalism and dishonesty we encountered. Our claims of poor workmanship have been validated by 3 seperate decorative concrete professionals. There were numerous technical errors throughout the entire project. The floor in no way appears to have been done by a professional on any level. We are now proceeding to have the poor quality work removed and rfinished to meet an acceptable standard.

In June I left a phone message for L. Burgdorf and he got back with me in a day or two. He came at the specified time to measure and explain how the work would be done. Sent me an estimate within a week, which I accepted. He was so busy I had to wait until late August, early September for the work to be done.
I was always kept informed as to times they would be coming. The crew sawed through a return line to the pool and fixed it promptly. It really wasn't their fault as I wasn't sure how deep the line was buried underground.  They did a wonderful job of breaking up the concrete around the deep end of the pool right up to the coping edge. Very little ended up in the pool. Easy cleanup.
The driveway was widened 6' and they repositioned my mailbox too. The walk was widened as I had wanted, and a slight curve was added as well. We also had a new pad poured at the front doors.
It took the better part of a week for all the work to be done. I have no complaints about the work or the crew or L. Burgdorf. Everyone was very pleasant and professional. I'm thinking about having a back yard sidewalk put in and Burgdorf will be who I choose.
He was recommended to me by some neighbors he had done work for. It was very expensive but very well done.

They were very good and very nice. They came when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves. They gave us the quote of $495 and our aggregate had never been filled and it is two years old and then they ran out of the filler. It soaked into it very quickly and they had to go buy more. They actually ended up spending more money than they anticipated but they would not charge us anymore, so I felt like that was a company I would recommend for sure. I recommended them to my neighbors already.

    Ron Lindauer
We purchased our two year-old house in late 2010, and decided to add an in-ground pool due to the nice attached screened walk-out porch. We contacted three companies, but clearly Ron and his team were the most interested in our small in-ground pool project. He worked with us on design, location, size, water-type (salt water was what we settled on), and finally price. Our project was on a slope, so a retaining wall had to be constructed. Lindauer also had to break up some existing cement pads, prior to construction of the pool. The entire project took approximately a month, but would have been shortened by 30% if the weather had not been so rainy. Ron also removed and replaced an existing pad underneath our hot tub spa, so that all of the cooling deck would match. After the cement was poured, we added sod to keep things cleaner and neater. Lindauer also sealed our driveway and cleaned up all of their work prior to leaving yesterday. They have promised a couple of free follow-ups to ensure that everything is working fine. We're very satisfied. I'll include a photo to show the work. Overall the work was all done at or exceeding their commitment and promise. When the weather permitted, they arrived with plenty of skilled labor to get the job done, and worked with least amount of disturbance to us. I would highly recommend Ron Lindauer and his company should you need an in-ground pool of any size, cement work, or even electrical work. They are conscientious and professional - friendly too.
