Flooring reviews in New Albany

  • Murphy Construction & Restoration agreed to add a half bathroom/powder room in my home. I was very excited as other companies that quoted me declined my business as they did not want a "small job." The owner (Travis) helped me make decisions about the new construction, explained everything, answered all my questions and was open to changes from the original plan. He is very easy going and fair on price. His workmanship is very good but his timelines are a little iffy. He is very busy with not enough help accommodate.

  • Craig and his crew did an awesome job installing a very difficult tile into our home. Our kitchen, family room and dining room were all open and connected, but had three different types of flooring (wood, tile and carpet). We wanted this to all be the same so we searched around for someone to lay wood look tile throughout the entire space. At the same time we also decided to update our existing tile fireplace surround as well as our kitchen backsplash.
I found Craig with Creative Tile using Angie's List and I'm glad I did. He worked with our schedule and completed the work on time and within budget. He even came back and did a little extra work we decided we wanted done afterwards at no additional cost.
I did some of the prep work myself such as removing the existing carpet and hardwood floor and Creative Tile took care of the very labor intensive job of pulling up the existing tile.
We have three little kids at our home and our kitchen was out of commission during this project so time was of the essence and Craig made sure to stick to the schedule and even worked throughout the weekend to make sure it was done as quickly as possible. He kept me informed of the progress and let us know where we could and couldn't step and how long to stay off of each area. He worked around our kids schedule and our floor plan so we could access the areas needed while still living there. We also chose a very difficult tile to install because each piece was 10" wide by 5 feet long. The team at Creative Tile made sure everything stayed level and did a fabulous job. The end product was installed wonderfully.
We love our new floors and backsplash and I would definitely use Creative Tile again for any tile work we need done.

  • Robbie did previous tile work for me. I called him back to take a look and make suggestions and give me an estimate.

He recommended a large tile size for the larger areas and laying in a diamond pattern. He showed me pics of his work on other jobs - looked GREAT!

We picked out tile and he got started right away. Work went smoothly and the wife LOVES IT!

I had him do some other "patch and repair work" while he was available.

  • We discussed what I wanted (a change from linoleum to tile). I did not want to spend a lot of money, but wanted easy to keep clean and look nice..

Robbie recommended tile flooring so we went to

supplier and looked at what was available and pricing. I went with an almond tile for both.

He did a GREAT job! Quick and cleaned up afterwards.

It looked so good, I called him back to do my Entryway and Kitchen.

  • Craig was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and got back to us with a quote in a timely manner.
He and his team were friendly and professional throughout the whole process. They didn't leave a mess and always let us know when they were coming back to continue work. They worked with our materials and gave suggestions when we weren't sure what to use for shower flooring. The whole process would have taken a couple of weeks, but we had holiday obligations - the timing was very reasonable considering the scope of the work.
We had received quotes from other providers, but they left us frustrated because of price, communication issues, and lack of professionalism. It's good to know that businesses like Creative Tile can produce a great quality remodel at a fantastic price.

  • We had a wonderful experience with this company.  They refinished the original hardwood floors of our home.  When we pulled up the old carpeting, we found the floors were dull, scratched and had dark spots on them.  Kaiser Flooring came to work on them and when they were done, the floors looked like NEW!  I didn't think that kind of transformation was possible.  They even put in new quarter round trim that matched the hardwood flooring.
The most amazing part of our experience was that we couldn't even tell the workers had been there.  There was NO DUST from sanding whatsoever.  They were extremely clean and professional and quick!
After they left, we were moving the furniture back in and accidentally scratched the floor.  We called them and they came back out that week to fix it for us!  This company goes above and beyond.  We would definitely use them again and recommend them to all our family and friends.
They also installed new hardwood floors in my uncle's home and did amazing inlaid borders and patterns that looked so beautiful!

  • At first I was hesitant when I read the glowing reports on Lowes in Clarksville. The salesman mentioned in those reports was off the day I stopped by, but the salesman, Scott, provided super great service too. Due to personal circumstances, I am not able to finalize a purchase at this time. But I highly recommend this store.

  • Bast told me that the job would require him to work 8-4 five days/wk 2 wks(80 hrs), and that he would not take any other work during the course of the job.  His helper worked 47 hrs and he worked 43 3/4 hrs during the 2 wks, and he worked another job some of the time.  He chose the start date (9/12/11), but after the mover had already moved the furniture out, Bast told me that materials could not be delivered as planned.  Bast gave the wrong address to his supplier, and obtaining delivery was a big hassle.  He did not intend to be, nor was he here to receive delivery of materials.  He vacuumed the day before applying the finish and turned on the ceiling fan while applying the finish;  yet he later said that he couldn't understand why he had so much trouble with the job.  He had to buff out and refinish the flooring the following week and then, even later, had to return four times - twice to view and arrange to fix problems, and twice to fix the problems.  After the refinishing was applied, one flaw in a doorway was so sharp that, walking barefoot, I cut the bottom of my foot.  Instead of replacing a board that had been left gouged, he smoothed out the 1 1/2" gouge to make it more like a little swail.  He slopped stain up walls and on bathroom tile floor 2 feet into the bathroom (his supplier told me how to remove it).  He agreed to give me some extra flooring, but took it all with him (I assume that I had paid for all materials).  Left big oil stains and tread marks on the driveway.  Neighbor asked if I had run the Indy 500 on my driveway.  To be fair, Bast always took and/or returned my calls promptly.  He said that he had "never had so much trouble with a job."  The floor is passable, but not one in which I can take pride.  There is, however, much satisfaction in just being finished with the irritation.

  • They were professional and everything was done on time. They were done two weeks ahead of schedule. Liz At Home checked on the contractors about every few days. They kept an eye on things. Liz A tHome doesn't do actual work, but they would deliver things. Steve was the main man responsible.
