where do i start. the man was 4 hours late for estimate. came to do job, tore out a small section of tile, never sealed off that section so there was a THICK layer of dust everywhere.(even on our food in cabinets). very unprofessional, IT'S STILL UNFINISHED. getting the run around. they sent second guy out to finish job(didn't want first one back. he became angry & cussed at me bc he couldnt figure out how to put in door stripes) second guy clearly on drugs, acting strange. put wood putty in seams & cracks on floor (completely off color making it look worse) never put in door stripes and took a couple w/him.(we bought all material) I could go on... stopped our check. have to find a professional to come out and redo floor! terrible experience!!! only received estimate in writing. no contract, no receipt for check. Added $200 more on total, should have been $80.(Even sent pictures to superviser/owner)

The provider was very unresponsive and never returned our phone calls when he said he would. After we left several messages, we were finally able to schedule a time to have our carpet and padding installed. The installers showed up with the wrong materials and were disappointed that we had not already moved the furniture. We were never asked to move the furniture and in fact our estimate was quoted to include and $200 charge for moving furniture. We were very put off with this service provider and I strongly recommend against using this company.

    Quality Floor Refinishing
My home is 74 years old. I have lived in the home for 14 years. The kitchen floor has been covered with stick on tiles, laminate and linoleum over the years by different owners of the home.. The original hardwood looked really bad.   I called Quality Floor refinishing, told him the square foot dimensions and described the floor condition. He gave me a price over the phone and scheduled a day to get the job done. The job took two visits to complete. The first day the sanding and staining got done in about 5 hours. The clean up was done and very little dust was present through out the house. The second day the urethane top coat got done in about an hour or so. The floor looks really good now.  I highly recommend this service and I would use them again.

    Apex Construction & Remodeling
I found Apex on Angie's List. I had contacted several others (also on the list) but Andy Kerman from Apex was the only one to respond and arrange a face to face meeting.
Andy met with us several times and we kept in contact mainly by email and phone. Andy was always quick to respond to my messages and honestly answered all our questions. He assigned us some "homework" to do regarding picking out fixtures, floor and wall tiles. This helped us to have an "investment" of time and effort in the project. I was also an invaluable learning experience to see what was available in today's marketplace.
Apex crew members Albert and Kyle removed all the fixtures and debris & cleaned up as they went along. Since this is the only bathroom they had to make arrangements to keep a functioning toilet as soon after demolition and sub-floor repairs would permit. They also made sure that the water supply was not interrupted any longer than was necessary. Toilet function was maintained throughout the course of the job.
Apex installed 3/4 plywood and half inch cement board as well as a new tub-shower unit, commode and pedestal sink. New in-wall mounted medicine cabinet and over the john storage cabinet.
Tile was installed on the floor and walls (up 45 inches from floor). The existing door was removed. The inside casing was replaced and hall side casing was (carefully) removed to be reinstalled.
A new door and inside casing were installed and window jamb extension with trim. The door side facing the hall was stained and finished to match up with the existing woodwork. The match was done extremely well and matches the 60+ year old trim almost exactly.
Because the bathroom is small, there were some challenges regarding installation of larger components. However, the Apex crew handled them quickly, quietly and systematically. They never showed any uncontrolled frustration even when things were very tight. Bert and Kyle were always on time and worked the entire time they were here except for a short break in the morning and lunch. They were always courteous and answered any questions. They also provided guidance when questions arose regarding placement of some secondary items.

    Banter Floor & More
I had high hopes for this project. I found the company on Angie's List and was impressed after visiting their large showroom and meeting with the sales associate Dana. I had decided to have my flooring job done by a company that specializes in flooring installation after having not so great results with  using one of the "big box" stores for carpet installation. We had also planned to do a bathroom remodel but dropped that idea after the kitchen floor experience. On the first day, one person showed up about 90 minutes late, and was not prepared for the job. He was under the impression that he was to rip out an old vinyl floor and was not aware that the old floor was a ceramic floor. He did not have the equipment he needed to demolish the floor, and he also needed more help, as this was a big job in a large kitchen. Eventually he got the equipment and extra help and started to remove the old floor.I was shocked when I returned home from work that first day. My entire house, and I am not exaggerating here, was covered from top to bottom with a thick layer of white dust from the floor demolition.Apparently the old floor was improperly installed on a drywall subfloor so there was a massive amount of dust released during the removal of the old floor. It was as if a dust bomb had been released in the house! The workers did not use any type of barrier to prevent the dust from being released into the house, so every surface in the house, even the second floor, was covered with this dust. My husband and I both called the company to complain. We tried to contact Dana but she was "unavailable". I was told by the one of the staff that it's not their practice to use a plastic barrier to keep dust in the work area. They did send someone out the next day to vacuum up some of the dust on the first floor but that was just a minute part of the mess. The installers put up a plastic barrier on the second day. When the floor was finished, the installer put dirty, scuffed trim back on the toe kick area and dirty quarter round trim around the cabinets! The trim is white so this is very noticeable. When I mentioned to him that the trim needed painting he said I should get a can of spray paint! The floor looks pretty good. There are a couple of small spots that look bumpy like the subfloor isn't smooth underneath. I am probably the only one who notices. The overall experience with Banter was negative and I would not use them again. Incidentally, it took me 8 hours to clean the dust off every surface in my kitchen alone, and $150.00 to have all the curtains and valances from kitchen and living room dry cleaned.

The flooring was great but the installation was average because in comparison, the other flooring service provider I used did a better job. The man who did the job was okay but in the future, I would use a different service provider.

Master Tile Carpet One Floor & Home
They were very professorial and when they came in, you could tell that they knew what they were doing. When they did the Sims, the work was really fabulous; you could not tell where anything was on the floor.

    FCA Flooring Specialists 2
The sales rep was very informative and did her job well as far as knowing product choices and customer service. However, her measurements resulted in us having two full, unopened boxes of flooring left over. When we contacted FCA about returning the materials for cash or credit, we were told us it could not be done. Two full boxes was a lot of overage, and we did not buy cheap flooring. We do understand you should plan for installation mistakes or poor product quality, but two full boxes of flooring was excessive for the total amount of flooring purchased for the size of the room. Further, the quality of the product is not what we expected. The laminate scratches more easily than I expected and smudging is a problem that we did anticipate. Although we thought we did our homework about laminate flooring pros and cons, the product we purchased is a disappointment and not being able to return the two excess boxes of flooring for cash or credit does not seem to be a good business practice.

Cesar arrived on time each morning (7:00).  He started ripping out the old carpeting and measuring and moving the stove, ice box and a cabinet.  When Adam arrived, they started on the floor.  They gave me time to wipe down the stove and ice box (you know how dirty they get).  They were so good - cleaning every step of the way - pleasant in everything they did.  They had to replace a couple of gas cables, some vent covers and a plumbing issue in the laundry room with a deep sink.

They were wonderful and worked very hard.  Cesar worked about 12 hours the first day and the second day just took a couple of hours.  I thanked them over and over for taking such great care of me.  I will thank Bob when I see him.  I DEFINATELY will recommend them and use them again when I have a project.

I had a really good guy to do my floors. His name was Robert. He did a fantastic job. It was for a great price. He was meticulous. The price was good. He did the work in three days. He was really good. The price was cheap compared to everybody else. I had wood flooring; this house is sixty years old. It had carpet and I had to take the carpet off and refinish the floor in the whole house before I moved in. It's a small house. It's not a huge house, with two bedrooms. He said he would be he and he was here. I told him I wanted to move on this day and he got it done, he was quick. He did not say he would not be able to make it that day. He was here and got the job done. I would absolutely use his services again in the future. He was awesome.
