ARogers Appliance ServiceRodger answered the phone right away. He asked me 5 questions about my refrigerator problem. He diagnosed the issues over the phone. He told me the cost of the repair is just as much as a new refrigerator. What I think is so great about that is that he was honest. He didn't schedule an estimate that would cost $60 because he said, "well if I can save a trip and you can save money that's better."- Jeannie P.

FD 1 Appliance RepairWe recently moved to Crown Point, IN. and discovered the washing machine in our new home was not working. We hired Derek at D1 Appliance repair to fix a busted valve on our Maytag 2000 series front loading washing machine after I troubleshot the unit. The unit was displaying an "LF" error after running a load of wash for approximately 10-20 minutes then draining. I took a look on line and found that this is due to the intake valves and hoses for the machine. After self-checking an unable to resolve it ourselves, we hired D1. The first time Derek visited our home (during the pandemic) my wife had to specifically request that he wear a mask while in our home which he did reluctantly. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes and called me as I was not at home. He told me the cost of repairs and parts and I agreed to this. We scheduled a follow-up to install the replacement valve. That being said, my wife mentioned that Derek had a real attitude problem. I didn't think much of it as maybe he was having a bad day. A week later, Derek came to install the valve. He walked through our front door without a mask (once again). I let this slide as I really had not met Derek formally the first time and thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt first. He replaced the valve and told me it was fixed. I inspected the unit, only to discover the dial knob on the machine was missing. Derek claimed it was missing when he arrived but I never noticed this myself. I told him I need to confirm the machine is working and he gave me attitude, claiming he had "12 other calls to attend to". I said that doesn't concern me as I can't pay for the service until I have verified that the machine is functional. I also asked if he was going to replace the knob which he said he could do but would have to charge me for. Frustrated with Derek's attitude and general demeanor (he several times slammed the washing machine door with excessive force when he was troubleshooting). It was through this I realized that this was not a typical house call for a maintenance repair technician. In my 13+ years as a home owner, I have never experienced such a display of attitude and lack of concern for the client's satisfaction. This drove me to raise my voice to Derek, of which I feel bad about but I must say I can't understand how someone can enter a home as a stranger with such an attitude and expect a positive reaction. Derek told me if I didn't pay today, he would remove the valve. I said I was going to report him to his superiors to which he reacted saying "I am the owner." Thus, we were up against a rock in a hard place and being pressured to pay without confirming the device was indeed repaired. I went ahead and paid just to get him out of my house as he had angered me so much I just felt the best course of action was to get him out and deal with this in a yelp and BBB review. I have never in my life experienced such a total lack of respect for other people's property and customer service. It saddens me that this is how someone treats their customer who reaches out for help, more than willing to pay for service. I just hope this person takes this as a lesson in better customer service in the future and steers his ship toward a better future. I feel bad for any potential, unknowing customers to have to go through such a horrible experience themselves.- John D.

ATurner ApplianceI called Monday to schedule someone Tuesday afternoon. I was told between 1 and 3. The technician called at 1 to say he would be there in 10 minutes, which he was. Ryan diagnosed and repaired the problem in less than half an hour. He explained what he had done, cleaning and reassembling the switch instead of replacing it, and that if we had problems again within 30 days, he would return and replace the switch with a new one, crediting us for the cost of this service call. The washer works just fine now.- Colleen C.

ARogers Appliance ServiceRoger performed initial diagnosis over phone, which ended up being correct. Was verified at time of actual service appointment. Service call fee is good for a year, should problem occur again.- John O.

ARogers Appliance ServiceWhile Roger does not work on our brand of refrigerator he made a recommendation of something we could try before we called another repair person. What Roger suggested worked and we now have a working freezer and never spent a penny.- Jesus G.

ARogers Appliance ServiceRoger was up front that the cost of the repair would be too much to warrant keeping the dishwasher. I only paid his fee to come out.- Julie W.

FHe called to reschedule on the same day. Then he repeatedly contacted my husband to inquire about the problem and then asked him to pick up parts for the problem. It was so unprofessional and we canceled him even though he tried to say he did the repair on your end so we were charged for the repair even though he rescheduled. Your service said no charges would be pushed through until the repair was complete and you charged us even though he never came. Total hassle and waste of time.

Bwhen tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great

FMy schedule was Feb 13 between 12pm to 5;00pm The technician came at 5;35 pm When he arrived I told him the unit just fired but still miss firing and right away he said I have to pay the service fee of $85.00 just because he was at the door I said furnace is still miss firing and will not fire up like it used too and I wanted him to look and check the furnace. I think he knew what was wrong because he was looking at the intake pipe with his snake camera but since the intake pipe goes to the crawl space and will require a lot of work and it is already almost 7:00 pm he said everything seems in good shape it only needs cleaning which cost $89.95 since we never had the furnace cleaned for 3 yrs. To make it short after the technician left the furnace worked for maybe and hour. Since I've seen it fire without the cover I have to take the furnace cover off the furnace so the furnace will fire at half the heat at maybe less than 70% capacity on a below zero night. I have to call the next day to complain They unclogged the intake pipe for $358 and made it sound like they did me a favor for not charging me the $85 that I already paid the first time they visit. Total cost of the whole ordeal $533 and a lot of stressful cold 2 days.
