The eyeglass portion was almost without issue. The doctor and her assistant were great. The technician assisting me with my eyeglass purchase was helpful, but the office did not understand how my insurance and the extra benefit of EyeMed worked together. I could not find bargain frames that fit my face, as their selection of those frames is very limited. My glasses came to well over $400, out of pocket, along with the $250 allowance from my insurance. I ordered regular lenses, meaning, no bifocals, trifocals, or tint. They would not allow me to use EyeMed in conjunction with my insurance. This would have reduced my cost significantly and I would not have had to pay for my glasses in payments. I've checked and double-checked with both my insurance provider and EyeMed. Both assured me that I could use EyeMed once my insurance benefits were exhausted. That was not the case in this office. I found another provider for my next vision check-up that understands how to use both of the benefits available to me. My contacts are a whole other story. That has been such a horrible experience, mostly due to the girl at the front desk. I ordered my contacts two months later after I paid off my glasses. After requesting they be ordered three times, the order was finally placed. For some reason, my order was not being placed, I ordered monovision contacts, which I've worn for the last two years. With monovision contacts, I don't need reading glasses, so I prefer them. They were mailed directly to my home. I was extremely happy with this service until I realized this different brand of contacts were not monovision and were very uncomfortable. I trusted my doctor and didn't question her prescribing a brand that differed from what I had been using. I stopped by the office to ask if they offered a follow-up to make sure all was good with new contacts. I told the girl my contacts were uncomfortable, made my eyes dry, and I didn't believe they were monovision. She proceeded to check my record. She was condescending as told me how monovision contacts worked and that I had to get used to them. She also told me that I was advised, during my exam three months earlier, to use drops for my tears at bedtime. I do not have tear producing problems. I was not advised about using those types of drops, but rewetting drops were discussed, due to my extensive computer use at work. I asked again if there was a follow-up to see if the contacts were compatible with my eyes. She told me I was welcome to make an appointment and I would have to pay for it because it's not included. She then went on to tell me that I couldn't return the contacts if I defaced the boxes in any way, even though I did not even think about asking that at the time. I went into the office telling her that my eyes were burning, very dry and uncomfortable. I was squinting to see. She showed absolutely no concern. Maybe she had a bad experience before me, but that wasn't my fault. Although I was uncomfortable, I was friendly and polite. I wanted her help. I received a coupon for tear drops I could purchase at Target. I thought I'd call and complain, but before I left, another employee came up to the front saying she was done dealing with the woman she was helping. I was up front, there were a mother and daughter paying their bill, and yet she was not discreet about the issues she was having with a customer. Regardless of the issue, it should not have been blurted out in front of other customers. Just by standing there, I found out that the woman didn't have the insurance she insisted she had but wasn't understanding what the employee was telling her. I found out that the customer would not listen, was irritating, and the employee was done with her. I'm very disappointed in the unprofessionalism shown that day. Anyone can have a bad day, but a patient's/customer's privacy should not be ignored. It made me wonder what they said about others. I'm glad the girl told me I couldn't return the contacts, even though I didn't ask. I trusted that the correct contacts were ordered. I wrote "R" and "L" on the appropriate boxes for my eyes before trying them on. That's totally on me. I still have a year's worth of the extremely uncomfortable contacts and have to use them with reading glasses all day long at work since my expensive prescription glasses are not bifocals or trifocals.

    Balogh & Cedarstaff Optometrist
Doctors Balogh and Cedarstaff are a husband and wife team.  They are without a doubt the best eye doctors I have see in my 65 years of existence.  They are very thorough with their exams, patient, and provide detailed explanations of everything they do and why.
It may take a week for your glasses to be made but it is worth the wait.  I have never had any problems with the fit or the correction of my lens which I have had with other providers including Lenscrafters, 4Eyes, etc.
My money is with these providers and I would recommend them for anyone of any age.

My appointment came and the doctor looked in my eye poked it and then did the same to the other eye. Was in a rush and I ended up with styes in both eyes the next day. I was very upset and I missed work because it looked like I was punched in the eyes. They lasted for a week.  I was able to get rid of the one but the other returned the next week. I would never go back. To bad I heard a lot of good about their cataract center but he husband was horrible.

They have several doctors there. I go once a year, and every time I go, I get a different one. I keep going back to them probably because of the location, the convenience of it. The staffs are pretty good, nice, and friendly.

The staff was very friendly, professional and time-wise because it was a very short wait till I saw the doctor. The doctor was good, professional, spent as much time with me as I needed, asked me if I had any questions a couple of times and he seems to know what he was doing. I was very happy with him.

They have a deeply religious environment. Their services are as good as other optometrists I've been to. They are very experienced and thorough. When something comes up like when they detected my glaucoma, they sent me to a prestigious neural optometrist and because of that, I am now going to get my cataracts done. So they really care about the patient. They do sell glasses but they do not try to push them onto you. I just wish they had a little bit more modern kind of glasses. They don't have the retro eye glasses that are kind of hip again.

    Mansueto, Dr. Andrew F.
Doctor Mansueto performed the entire examination with exception of the peripheral portion of the exam that was administered by his technician. I have had numerous eye exams over my lifetime, but I found that Doctor Mansueto's was extremely thorough, not performed in a hurried fashion, and displayed a genuine interest in my eye health. I was concerned if a cataract was forming in my right eye. His examination put my mind at ease. With respect to each portion of the exam, he told me that state of my eyes related to each test. Incidentally, if anyone reading this review is on Medicare, and their supplemental coverage includes EyeMed Dr Mansueto will perform a comprehensive eye examination and refraction for $50.00. I definitely will continue to use him in the future for my optometry needs!

    Deschamps, Dr. Eldi E.
Overall everything was fine, the wait was a little long, which was expected. They are very professional, and have a nice waiting room. The doctor is personable and very friendly and open to further discussion after the exam.

I am diabetic and on dialysis so I come here to get my eyes checked. They are very friendly and they ask you questions to make sure they get all the necessary information from you. When you have a follow-up appointment they will remind you, either through email or by calling you. They are great as far as I'm concerned.

    Gordon, Dr. Alan N.
I needed an eye exam and a prescription for glasses. My fianc and I both went at the same time. They were very flexible and allowed us almost simultaneous appointments. The Doctor was very thorough and made me feel at ease during the eye examination. I got my prescription for glasses, as did my fianc. We were then taken to the eye glass display which was an entire room! They had a huge selection and I found a great pair on sale. We picked out what type of lenses and the lady was careful to explain all of ir choices (ie, scratch resistant, transitional etc) She also let us choose a case for our glasses and a cute cleaning cloth. They said they would call us as soon as our glasses came in. We had them within 2 or 3 days and were both pleased.
