DO NOT GO HERE! I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT BAD EXPERIENCES. I HAD PRK EYE SURGERY HERE 4 YEARS AGO. WHATS PRK? I DONT EVEN KNOW!!!! ITS LIKE LASIK. THEY HEARED ME THROUGH LIKE CATTLE, TOOK MY 10K QUICKLY AND SENT ME ON. I WAS OFF WORK 5 DAYS BECAUSE OF HORRIBLE PAIN. THEY TOLD ME I JUST HAD LOW PAIN TOLERANCE AND WOULD NOT GIVE PAIN MEDS. AFTER 5 DAYS MY VISION WAS GOOD THANKFULLY. NOW 4 YEARS LATER I CANNOT SEE VERY WELL FAR AWAY OR AT NIGHT. I GOT AN APPT TO GET CHECKED. I WAS JUST TURNED AWAY BECAUSE MY INSURANCE WAS DIFFERENT UNLESS I WANTED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. NO WARRANTY ON SURGERY. NO NOTHING! Yes I should've asked more questions and got 2nd opinion. But now I'm screwed and probably going back to glasses/contacts after only 4yrs and 10k out of pocket!!! THIS PLACE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU THEY ONLY WANT MONEY!

The exam itself went fine but this is an assembly line operation and there are long waits. I have been there many times over the last several years and there is always a lot of waiting. The doctor did apologize for the wait when I finally got in to see him but the wait time here is always excessive. That never changes despite the apologies. At the front desk where I checked in, the woman who checked me in was very polite and friendly but the other woman was very abrasive and had no customer service skills at all. I did not have to deal with her but I overheard her talking to another customer on the phone and she was very condescending and abrupt. If I would have had to deal with her I would have filed a complaint against her with management.

a lot of waiting. they appear to operate on volume. I felt like a number rather than a person. I do not feel I can trust them with my eye care. I don't think they have my best interests as a patient at heart. Dr. McCormick in particular is not exactly mr. personality.

The times that I have visited this location have been terrible. The wait times are forever. I sat for 2 hours waiting to be seen. The staff is very unorganized and absolutely clueless about how to run a practice of this size. My father went in to have a picture measurement done of his retina and the staff member informed him that he was being seen for his yearly exam, which he had just completed a few months ago. This was simply a recheck to get a baseline measurement to make sure nothing had gone wrong. He was told that the imaging machine was broken which in fact it was not. So he did not end up getting that done at all. When he called later to speak with the practice manager he was given the run around and finally was told that the office manager was not in for the entire week. My family will never return to this business even though we have been seeing doctor Box for 40+ years. This business has terrible service, unprofessional behavior, and poor patient care.

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC!  The factory-like atmosphere demotes individuals to cogs in a wheel, the 2-3 hours for each appointment are absurd, and the staff, although superficially friendly, are demeaning.  When I apparently didn't hear my name being called from the waiting room, the assistant made a derogatory remark to someone she was training, saying, "You have to get really close to the TV if you want them to hear you."  Although I was sitting close to the TV, the reason I may not have heard her was the insufferable noise employees made, talking loudly to each other, and yelling unnecessarily loudly to call patients, who all sat in near absolute silence.

When I was finally called in to an exam room, nearly 2 hours after I arrived, and after a short vision test and dilation, it was evident the assistant had no idea why I was there, but insisted on talking over every single answer I tried to give her as she fired off questions that had no bearing whatsoever on today's visit.  I unfortunately told her, in answer to one of her questions, that I was interested, eventually, in getting a cataract removed from my right eye.  Despite my attempt to re-direct her to the initial purpose of today's visit, she honed in on the cataract removal, subsequently telling me I was not a candidate for the surgery, since my vision in that eye was " correctable to 20/25" with glasses.  I knew that was incorrect, as my previous eye doctor had yearly recommended removal of the cataract, telling me that it was impossible to correct the vision in that eye effectively until the cataract was removed.  Despite any attempt on my part to explain to the assistant that her information must be mistaken, she continued to stridently insist on interrupting every sentence I started.

When Dr. Box finally came in, seeing she was questioning me, he told her he could come back in a few minutes.  It was nearly 6:00 pm, and I said that I would like to talk to him instead.  He examined my left and right eyes, and immediately said I was a candidate for cataract removal.  Totally confused by now, when I told him (for clarification purposes only)  the assistant had repeatedly told me I wasn't, and quoted the things she had said to me, she interrupted again to say, "That's not what I said!".  I asked if it was possible to have another assistant, but Dr. Box said she was the best in their office (!!), that they worked as a team, and he was unwilling to do my cataract surgery!

When I walked to the lobby and up to the desk and asked to check out, the assistant there gave me a withering look, and told me to sit down, that she was helping another patient--who just then walked up behind me.

There is absolutely nothing professional or truly patient-friendly about this assembly-line shop pretending to be a professional clinic.  I cannot recommend a single thing about it.  After waiting patiently an interminable amount of time in the waiting room, when I was finally called to an exam room, they rushed the actual appointment, apparently so they could go home.  My last appointment there a few weeks ago took over three hours..  A truly horrible experience!

The good news is that I can surely find an eye doctor of equal or greater expertise who won't keep me waiting for 2-3 hours, with staff members who treat patients with respect.

    Southside Eye Center - Greenwood
My family and I relocated from Brooklyn NY to the Greenwood area in 2009, since moving here we have not seen an optometrist. My wife, middle daughter and I, all need glasses, so we were always on the look out for a good optometrist and I believe we have found one of the best in our area. My family and I are always well taken care of when we visit the office. My teenage daughter loves going there because the staff makes her feels so special and they always treats her well, going over and beyond. My wife and I are more laid back but is treated with the same importance and care as our daughter.
We are very comfortable with service this office provides because my entire family is known by the staff. They are very professional and willing to meet any unforeseen needs that might arise, and that gives us great peace. Since making Dr. Elmore our family optometrist back in 2011, we have not had any issues that they couldn't handle with excellence. We highly recommend the service and care they so gladly provide to anyone who walks through doors.

    Kodak Lens | Dr. Tavel
keI called, made an appointment, and was able to get my appointment in the same day. The representative that answered the phone was very helpful.
I arrived at the appointment and when I walked in....the space was very uninviting, I did not know where to go, I stood by the front door trying to decide which representative was going to help me. Then, the lady at the first desk asked, "Can I help you"?. I stated I was here for my appointment..  The lady then told me to go to the next representative (the first lady of two, behind the counter).
I approached this lady and she never once made eye contact with me.  After getting my insurance information and drivers license, she input some information in the computer and paused while she carried on a conversation with her co-workers (ignoring the fact that I was standing there).  After this awkward experience, she handed me some paperwork to fill out (still no eye contact) and told me to go to the waiting area around the corner.  As I approached this waiting room, it was odd and even more uninviting.  Only three chairs in this, very empty feeling  waiting room.  This place has more employees than chairs.  Seriously, this has four employees that seem to be doing nothing than talking to one another.
I stood up for 3-4 minutes at the back of the waiting room and was moving toward the "unapproachable" lady that gave me the paperwork. Then the lady in the back desk asked if I was finished and she took the clip board and guided me to the back room to measure my eye.  This lady was much more approachable and I felt more comfortable with her.
After this, I went back to this empty feeling waiting room to wait on the Dr;.  The Dr. was very thorough and I was pleased with how comfortable she made me feel.
Now to find my frames,, I felt lost. Everyone that worked there just looked at me like I was suppose to know what to do next.  The lady that first greeted me stared me down as I was putting in my contacts without ever walking from the front to the back of the store to provide customer service.  This lady spoke to me from the front of the store and she was obviously not busy or interested in helping me at all.  She did not provide a hand mirror for me to view the glasses I tried on, nor did she give me any helpful advise.   She just stood up front and stared at me, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.  Then lastly, I chose my frames, took them to the front desk lady, she measured my eyes as I was almost walking out the door.
The time to get my lenses is going to take two weeks, this part was never disclosed till I was walking out the door.

    Indiana Eye Clinic
I have been a customer here for 16+  years and previously could only say good things..  Unfortunately I had a VERY BAD experience today. Indiana Eye Clinic incorrectly scheduled me (after last year's annual exam) exactly one day shy of a full year (364 days later).  It wasn't until I took off work today, and showed up at the office did they call to confirm I was eligible for my annual exam with my insurance.  Unfortunately, that's where everything went downhill.
Due to IEC's error in not scheduling me more than 365 days apart, my insurance wouldn't cover my exam.  Even after talking to insurance, there was nothing they could do to override the 15 hours difference.  But then again it wasn't insurance's fault, it was IEC's.
IEC did nothing to accommodate me for their  error. Oh, they were willing to go ahead and see me, but at my expense when it would be filed as medical vs. vision; therefore I'd be eating the increased charge.  From a customer perspective, they should have acknowledged it was their error, and agreed to see me and eat the differential exam charge. Instead, I have to take another day off work and go back and start the process all over again.  UGH!

Lanter Eye Care & Laser Surgery - Indianapolis
Two ophthalmologists assisted me with my issues.  They were kind with excellent customer service.  In addition they took special care to make sure the investigated the issues with all tools that they had access to.  Even though they could not resolve the problem with my eye, they referred me to someone who could.  This included creating my appointment.  These doctors were hands-on and full of information.  They prepared me for any procedures that could take place in the future.  I felt important when I attended their office.  I highly suggest Lanter Eye Care for any optometry needs.

    Richard & Armstrong Optometry

Our glasses have worked out well. Previousy, visits to other optical despensers had mixed results.

My wife had several follow up visits for her eye condition. Dr. Armstrong improved the condition but recommended surgery. Their office staf set up an appointment with a surgeon for her. The surgery went very well. We have additional follow up for that.

Dr. Armstrong's office has been very professional and helpful through the entire process from the original appointment, the exams, fitting of glasses. Selecting of our second pair of sunglasses went very well.

I would recommend this provider for eye exams, treatments and eye glasses.
